A Cure for the Lazy Prodigal Finished

Accio/Depulso
There were often times where one was too lazy to do something, or didn't care to get remove themselves from whatever obligations they had and take the time to reach an object just mere meters away. Thora didn't often fall into the category, being a hard-working little girl in all aspects, but that wasn't to say she was never occupied.
Previously [3/30]:
Rolling off a bed to retrieve textbooks from a trunk--or return them, for miscellaneous books lying around certainly didn't make studying easy--didn't take much effort, but wouldn't it be nice if it could all be done with an incantation? It was more of an unnecessary fancy to the Slytherin, but apparently, there was such a method. How convenient.

Mischief had briefly sparked in the girl as she came across the third year charms, Accio and Depulso, and at the time, she'd glanced around her dormitory for objects to summon. She supposed she should start with something small, but nothing seemed to suit her purpose as she continued her stationary search. So, the girl fell to digging in her trunk for stray quills, paintbrushes, and pencils. The tools were carefully laid out one by one atop her bed, and she proceeded to draw a neat curve in the air with her wand, attempting to first summon the objects into her hand. It was admittedly difficult, and many fruitless attempts passed before the Slytherin finally finished with a paintbrush in her left hand. Finally.

She was a bit discouraged at her previous failures, and wanted to console herself by trying yet another spell--the banishing charm, which was quite a fitting opposite to the one she'd just practiced--but decided to try another day. It would be nice to know some more advanced spell, especially these, which seemed quite practical, but perhaps she should go to the Charms classroom. It was where she performed best, it seemed, and besides, if all else failed, she could ask the professor for assistance. Maybe.
But it seemed that the endeavor would not be required, as an invitation was extended before she found the time to get herself over to the classroom. She was to attend one of the third years' Charms classes, as the note read.

Thora couldn't help but be slightly intimidated as she entered the classroom along with the much taller, seemingly much older third years. First of all, most of them were at least a few inches taller than herself, and otherwise, she had this odd feeling that she would be inferior. If she was, it wouldn't exactly be a surprise, since she did have less knowledge than the third years, but it would still be embarrassing, of course. The Slytherin quietly found a seat at the back of the classroom, trying to melt into the walls--or sink into the floor--as the others settled down, talking and trading jokes which she certainly did not catch onto.

Relief flooded over her as the lesson began, and she rested her chin on a cupped hand, listening intently even as her green eyes flashed around the room, observing those around her. It was better to try and figure out who she'd be dealing with, if they had to pair up for practice. Before long, they were permitted to practice alone, and with a crash of chairs on stony floor, the students eagerly arose at once to select an object to demonstrate their prowess upon. Thora was no exception, being plenty excited to give this knew knowledge of hers a spin, and she scrambled out of her seat as well, only to hang back as to avoid being literally trampled.

Finally, she had her turn, and she found her way past third years, surveying the now meager assortment. Nothing too large, or breakable, probably… A ballpoint pen would do. Though she didn't exactly often see the Muggle tool in use in the wizarding world, it wasn't uncommon, and besides, there were plenty of household objects there on the table that could very well also be utilized by Muggles. Clicking the top of the sleek, black pen, she scurried back to her seat, head lowered. She couldn't make a fool of herself if no one was watching right?

Setting the pen on her desk, she moved her aspen wand in a curving motion. "Accio." she incanted firmly, joining the chorus of voices around her, all saying the same thing. The pen moved about a centimetre before it stopped, stubbornly remaining stationary. "Accio!" she said, a little louder. To her delight, the pen flew off the desk, and right into her outstretched hand.

Now, for the counter. In her opinion, the Banishing charm seemed a little harder to control, since she wasn't exactly sure how to control the object's motion without levitation. But no matter, she would try anyways. "Depulso," Thora chanted, with a sweep of her wand (pointed at the pen). The pen picked itself up before landing neatly on the desk. For once, it was a quick success, and the Slytherin continued going back and forth with Accio and Depulso. Third year Charms really wasn't so bad, after all.
