Entering from Charms
Ileen storm off. She walked as fast as she could without running, her heart still racing in her chest. She probably should just get out to clear her head – otherwise she would explode. although her anger had subsided somewhat in the meantime, she became quite nauseous from her disappointment and frustration, especially about her own failure and lack of self-control. She blinked a few times to push back the tears that threatened to rise up into her eyes. Tears of disappointment. About herself.

She focused her gaze on the ground to not meet the eyes of someone who might approach her. She was not in a talking mood. It was just not her day. Failing in class, getting into an argument in one of her favorites Professors classes with a boy she had never talked to before… well, it was one of those days when she should have just stayed in bed. She actually had no idea where she was going. She didn’t focus on her way, but her feet automatically lead her to a place less crowded. A few of the students who approached her cackled excitedly and a few bumped into her. But Ileen ignored them. She was far too busy trying to hold herself together.

Although she tried not to think about it, so as not to get angry again, her thoughts turned back to the Charms lesson. She couldn’t help but wonder why Thomas hadn’t done anything, when she had cleaned up her spot. She had expected him to at least laugh at her or to drop a comment. But he hadn’t done anything. And somehow, this ignorance mad it even worse.

A few strands of hair fell into her eyes and annoyed she stood still to bundle her long brown hair into a ponytail. Her hands trembled and the young Slytherin took one deep breath to calm herself. It couldn't go on like this. Like this, she would become exactly what she was trying to avoid. But why had he had to be so cocky and arrogant? She snorted in indignation. Well, it hadn't been her fault alone that things had gone this way. He had also played his part.

After leaving the Charms classroom, Thomas was half tempted to just leave Ileen be. If it had been earlier in the year he probably would have (although, if it had been even earlier, he also would have been too meek to escalate it altogether), but against his nature the Ravenclaw boy sought the girl out. His fascination with understanding the inner machinations of things and his hatred of confusion spurred the gesture.

Without halting, nor hesitating, Thomas shouldered his way through the busy corridors. Despite being small in stature, he managed to press on through the crowd with only minimal resistance. He had to get to the bottom of this. Human behavior was something Tommy had thought he understood fairly well, but he wasn't expecting Ileen's reaction at all. The fact that he was taken by such surprise bothered the boy to no end; Thomas resented anything that he didn't expect, particularly because his overly vigilant and paranoid nature alerted him to anything attempting to take him unaware. To leave without getting much of the last word in, and to even offer a bit of help regarding the cake, it all seemed strange. Thomas almost would have preferred a fight, at least he would have understood it.

Upon finally catching sight of the Slytherin girl, noting that she seemed to be moving absurdly fast, he exclaimed in an exasperated fashion, "H-hey! Wait up!" Thomas was audibly winded from how hard he worked to catch up to Ileen, but he had committed to it. There was no sense in backing down now. "Jeez, slow down!"

When Ileen heard the familiar voice behind her telling her to stop, her heart sank. Why had he followed her? Did he want to break her and to provoke a reaction? Did he come here to rub it into her face that he had managed the spell and she hadn’t? With a beating heart she turned around, anxious to keep her facial expression as neutral as possible, but she knew her eyes were still shimmering. Well, hopefully it looked more like glaring than almost crying. Why didn't he just let her lick her wounds? She wasn't sure how well she could hold herself together. “What do you want?” She heard herself that her voice sounded more resigned and tired than aggressive. She was tired of all the tension and the frustration.

She glanced at the brunette boy approaching her. She was beyond suspicious. What was he up to? Was he getting revenge for the piece of cake that she accidentally had thrown at the back of his head? Okay, he had pulled out his wand in the classroom, but had done nothing when she had cleaned her seat. Had he just been waiting until there was no professor around?
With her teeth clenched, she watched him closely. He hadn’t pulled his wand yet. Her own wand was safely stored in her robe, but she would only pull it, when she had no other choice.
Now that he had cornered her and forced her to actually show a reaction, she thought about plenty things she wanted to say to him. There was a high range in friendliness in these possible reactions. A part of her knew, she was wrong not to apologize for the cake-attack. She felt bad about it, but his further reactions kept her mouth shut. She wouldn’t give him something more to add to his arrogance.

Without taking her eyes off Ravenclaw, she pointed to a classroom nearby. No matter what would happen, she didn't want to draw unnecessary attention. She wouldn't let herself get into trouble because of him. “Look, if you want to discuss something, we shouldn’t do it right in the middle of curious students who have nothing better to do then sticking her nose in private conversations.” She glared at him and shrugged. “And if you want to put some cake in my hair to take revenge, just get it over with.
If he would agree with her not to have this whole conversation in public, she would follow him to the classroom.
