I have a prayer request: My aunt, my mom’s friend, and her daughter are sick with the virus. Please pray for them.

I need to ask for a prayer.

Tonight, my mom's side of the family fell apart. Brother against sister. Mother against child. If that isn't the work of the devil, I don't know what is. I just need to know which side of the fight I'm on. Both sides believe the other to be the bad guy. My grandmother literally said to me, "You play people against each other. When you feel hurt you go and tattle to your father, and he says she's 'blah blah blah,' and he's 'that that that.' Then, you come to repeat the evil things he's said about me to my face (which I don't) and hurt my feelings even more."

It is all surrounding around me. My uncle felt I was insulting my grandmother, and jumped in to discipline me when it wasn't my place. My mom and dad tried to get him to stop. He is a foot taller than me and had backed me into a corner (literally), so I couldn't do anything. My grandparents jumped to defend their son, and everyone began yelling. My ant and six-year-old sister ran, wanting nothing to do with this, to the beach. I ran, screaming to my room.

I didn't hear the conversation huge fight that ripped our whole family apart that entailed, but it consisted of several f-bombs, my uncle saying that he'd never come to visit us ever again, and my mom slapping him in the face. He must have felt bad because he came downstairs to my bedroom and apologized to me. I then grabbed my dessert and left for the beach because (and I quote) "my grandmother attacked [my parents.]"

After I finished my dessert, my mom said that we are packing our bags and leaving then and there. I went upstairs to grab the Roku box and remote, and my grandmother forced me into a corner, grabbed my arm, shoved me into a chair, and proceeded to explain how this was all my fault, and I was "playing family members against each other." (which I was not doing)

As we were packing the car, my dad knocked over an open cup of sparkling water that I was drinking and sent me upstairs to get a new one saying, "Be quick. Don't stop for anything but your drink, and don't talk to anybody." I went up, grabbed the bottle, and tried to make my way back downstairs, but my grandfather wanted me to talk to my grandmother again, but no way in hell was I doing that after what happened last time, but it was also directly disobeying my father. I told him that I was told to grab the water and come straight back down.

My grandfather chases me out the house and down the steps, proceeding to say to my father's face that he's "the most evil man in the world" and that "[he] can't live in fucking reality." I rolled down my window and told them all to shut up, which did nothing to help the situation. We pulled off, everyone crying and hearts are broken.

On the way back to the mainland (we were at a beach house on the Outer Banks), I explained how, that since they don't see me very often, I'm still stuck in their minds as the bratty nine-year-old that I once was. I tried to say that if I learned anything from Thor: Ragnarok, it was that people's actions as an asshole in the past don't set a predetermined future for them. This kind of explanation is exactly what my grandmother hates about me. She says that I constantly live in a "fantasy world." The only reason I "live in a fantasy world," is because I get yelled at, which makes me get mad, then I immerse myself in fiction to calm down, but then I get yelled at for "living in a fantasy world" again, and I get mad, then I immerse myself in fiction, and the circle goes on, and on, and on.

I've always found family drama films (like Knives out [but that was also a murder mystery]) interesting, especially in Knives Out where Chris Evans' character says to his whole family "Eat shit, eat shit, eat shit," to each family member. I'm cool with that being Boston fictional rich kid's life, but the second it becomes mine, I realize how miserable it really is to feel that your own family doesn't even love you. I have never felt more worthless and unloved in my entire life. Also, my mother basically told my uncle to eat shit, so my life isn't that different from Knives out at this point (minus the murder, ya know.)

Oh my goodness Christine. I am just reading that, and it made my jaw drop to the floor. No one, and I mean NO ONE should have to go through that, and then be blamed for all of it. If this escalates, don't be afraid to tell someone, something like this could transform into abuse. If it were just me talking, I'd say to fricking slap every single one of your family members that hurt you, but I am Christian, so promise me that you'll pray about it. You will be in my prayers, and if you want, you can owl me to talk to me, and if you have discord, I will owl you my name. Don't be afraid to talk to anyone, including me. I am a very good person to rant to.

Now, that was off topic, but know that you are in mine, and other people's prayers. Nobody is blaming this on you, they (your grandmother) probably said those things in a fit of rage, and whether you believe me or not, you are not alone in this, so my doors and prayers are always open, and don't forget that!

Dear Christine,

I am no therapist so I cannot help you much with counseling and the like. But I can feel how difficult it is all for you and your family.

As a fellow Christian, I'm sending you all my prayers; and if you read this message, there are several things I really want you to remember.

I want you to remember that our Lord would never let anyone carry a burden too heavy for her to carry.

I want you to remember that Jesus will never, ever leave anyone alone, especially in times of troubles. He is carrying you right now.

That our Heavenly Father is always there in your heart, ready to listen to whatever you want to tell Him.

He is planning something so very wonderful. Perhaps now we cannot comprehend what it is, but it will definitely be revealed in the right time.

Stay strong and God bless.

I'm really sorry to hear that, it sounds horrible and I want you to know that anything bad they might have said to you was said in anger and probably isn't true. I know that you probably feel hurt but what they said but things said in anger aren't the same as things that are true or helpful in any way. I'll be praying for you. I'm sorry to hear about what happened but it'll all work out, just trust that God has a plan.
