Santario remained perched at the middle table on the left with her back to the trees munching on the food that she had foraged from the picnic basket. Santario was not watching the stars from her observatory, no, she was watching the people. The lonely souls that roamed in and found places by themselves waiting for the chance that someone would rescue them from their solitude. The groups of people that spoke loudly among themselves, the tight nit groups that would have to be pried apart with the jaws of life. A couple of them broke off to the telescopes perhaps a couple of some sort, something she still never understood the notion of. To anyone else seeing her she just looked like a simple girl snacking while looking around.

Maybe she should have brought her camera along instead of leaving it in her tent this time. Pictures of the moon tonight would have been amazing, and she wouldn’t have needed her flash attachment at all. If she was fortunate, her tent mate might have grabbed it for her, but she wasn’t even sure if he showed up to this particular event. Hindsight is 20/20, after all. Maybe staying back at the tent would have been more fun; she could keep reading over her copy of Moste Potente Potions and researching other plants that were deemed less than savory in their world. Alas, she had made a decision, and now she was stuck with it until they were taken back to the camp.

𝓢targazing wasn't something Amadea did on a regular basis. If she was being completely honest, she didn't really ever stargaze. Growing up in London, Amadea had plenty of other activities to keep herself occupied. Now that she lived in Camberley in a suburb, the less hectic pace was more suited for stargazing but Amadea still hadn't done much of it. Nevertheless, she was excited for this activity. If she was being honest with herself, she was happy to be away from London. The city was her first home, the place where she had grown up and the place that she and her family had spent many happy years together. The memories were now tarnished by her parent's divorce and her father's death now. Even though she was at the London Quidditch Stadium and not in the heart of the city itself, being close pulled on Amadea's heartstrings. She was glad to be going far away and have a relaxing overnight with her best friend.

Amadea and Cecily had planned to attend this event together once they had heard about it. Cecily had invited Amadea and naturally, Amadea had accepted jubilantly. Amadea jumped at any chance that she could get to hang out with Cecily; the Ravenclaw girl was one of her two best friends in the world and Amadea felt like she had seen less of her towards the end of the school year. It was partly because the girls weren't in the same house and partly because they were both so busy, but Amadea felt like it had been a minute since the two had been able to catch up. It didn't help that Cecily had made plans to tent with her Ravenclaw Quidditch teammates instead of with Amadea, Ami, Adam, and Scott...which was a whole other can of worms that Amadea didn't want to think about right now; the tension inside of that tent made her anxiety skyrocket. Maybe venting to Cecily about everything and having a relaxing night under the stars would prove to be useful.

When the train had arrived at the Grove Park Community Group – Ringway Centre, Amadea had taken the lead, dragging Cecily along behind her. After hearing the professor's spiel on the bus, she was so excited to check out everything that this park had to offer. Star chart in hand, Amadea glanced around at all of the available activities. There was a fortune-telling station headed by Professor Kibitzer, a star stories station led by Professor Lian, and blankets sprawled out for a perfect view of the stars. There were also plenty of refreshments available. Students were milling around, figuring out what they wanted to do so Amadea turned to Cecily, figuring they should make a plan of action. "Wow," she said. "What do you want to do first?"

Howard had plenty of reasons not to go on the Stargazing trip. One, astronomy wasn’t really his thing. Fair to say that most people can enjoy a quite moment of reflection as they stare up at the heavens, however the science behind it was a bit of a drag for the teenaged Dhampir. Two, the trip was being led by none other than Professor Equinox. All of Hogwarts staff put Howard on edge, but this one in particular really spooked the boy. There was something about interacting with someone of his own nature that set his nerves off. It was bad enough that he had to receive his daily feedings from him, but now to spend an entire night with the man. Cringe worthy. Finally, Howard wasn’t really one to socialize, so it was odd that he would choose to join a public event.

With all of that aside though, there was one reason for him to attend that trumped all of the reasons not to. Professor Kibitzer was offering a fortune telling. While this may seem like just a fun exercise for most people, it felt like life or death for Howard. For quite sometime now his desire to know his path had grown into a full blown obsession. What did the future hold for him? How was he to obtain what he sought most? Any inkling of this desired knowledge was enough to drive him past any mild discomforts.

So, Howard boarded the train with the rest of them and now here they were. As angst filled and irritable as he might be, the boy still had an appreciation for things of beauty. It was a perfect night and the property was breathtaking. Enjoying the safety the night brought Howard from the suns harmful rays, he took the opportunity to roam around freely. No need for hooded cloak or slimy sunscreen.

He would first start by exploring the area that had been set up for them. The telescopes that were provided looked of good make, definitely something worth exploring later. Howard’s eyes would drift across the picnic area to spy Professor Kibitzer sitting on her pillow. Bingo! The boy started to make his way over when a grumble danced around his stomach. It had been a long ride and dinner was sometime back. Perhaps a late night snack before his reading. No sense in hearing your future on an empty belly.

That was when he noticed a dark haired girl sitting by herself at one of the tables. The very same girl he had seen at the barbecue taking pictures of the festivities. There was something about her presence, perhaps a look in her eye that piqued Howard’s curiosity. The way her piercing blue irises scanned the crowd looked like someone of deep thought. He was going to eat anyways, why not take a chance of meeting someone interesting.

Howard would approach and sit on the bench across from her without invitation. His blood red eyes meeting with her crystal blue. Hmm, he used to have eyes like that. “Anything good in there?” His voice was smooth and deep in tone as he pointed at the basket with a long, clawed index finger.

Rose loved the stars. She loved them like, a lot. She had almost gotten in trouble once for asking her friend to let her see the stars from the Astronomy Tower. She kind of wished Illvermorny students were allowed here, because her cousin Drew, who was the only person other than herself who knew about her escapes on the roof of her house, had stayed up late up on her roof looking out at the stars, though one time they got particularly bored and started making fun of different made up constellations, which was the only reason she was kind of glad he wasn't here. He brought out a very loud part of her nobody really got to see, and she would be hopelessly embarrassed if he over the summer. She got a star chart and laid down on her back by herself, enjoying the starry view and appreciating how amazing it all was. She relaxed her whole body, thinking she should do this more often. She was mesmerized by the stars and =, though her chart was next to her, she didn't look at it, but rather took the amazing view in over and over again, a true sense of calm filling her up.

While her tent group was partly scattered and her best friend was already on her way to the blanket, which was probably chosen for her group for stargazing, Ileen paused for a moment. The young Slytherin looked up to the firmament in amazement. It spanned over her like a dome - a sight that almost took her breath away. Once again, she realized how small and insignificant humans were in relation to the forces of nature.
She didn't notice the other students or the professors present at all, she was so taken by this moment. Even if she should be used to this view from astronomy, it was something else to experience in this relaxed situation and the different environment. London - the narrow, crowded city she hated - and then this vastness.
With a sigh, she pulled her scarf tighter around her shoulders and gradually let her gaze wander again to spheres closer to the ground. The trees were only black outlines against the sky and in the air was the excited hum of her classmates' voices. She loved this time of day almost as much as sunrise.

Although it was still pleasantly warm, Ileen had packed her scarf which she could also convert into a blanket - just in case. She had tied her long brown hair into a loose knot to enjoy the warm summer winds that tickled her neck.
With a thoughtful smile she turned in the direction Dee had walked away, now looking for her group again. And what a group that was. An explosive and highly interesting group. The corners of her mouth twitched when she thought of the conflicting constellations of people in her tent. She was very curious about how the next weeks would go. Some of her 'roommates', whom she had never met before, seemed quite nice, though. But with Percival and Dee, there was a lot of drama potential. Not to mention Rafael and Aurelia…
Being outside in this peaceful and wide area was therefore a pleasant change to their interesting but exhausting tent evenings. She couldn't wait to lay down relaxed on the blanket, look up into the sky and just take in her surroundings.

Before she finally set off to follow Dee, she grabbed some strawberries and looked around to see if she could find any other friends or acquaintances of hers. She would also have liked to talk to Erik, Syl or even Aida. But they didn't seem to be here yet. Well, maybe they would still show up.

With a smile, she strolled over to Dee. The young Ravenclaw had already sat down in a large blanket. Ileen grinned and let herself plop down next to her friend. With a soft giggle, she grabbed a pillow and turned to the brunette. “Perfect spot. Good choice.” She frowned and gazed at the others. “Do you think there is enough space for all of us?” Her grin widened and her brown eyes sparkled in amusement. “I’m willing to defend my spot.” Confidently she knocked on the pillow and then let herself fall on her back with a chuckle. Then, she reached out her hand with the strawberries and dropped one from above into her open mouth. She was excited. Excited to see what the evening might bring to them.

Alaric made his way towards his intended destination, the last picnic table on the right. That would be his position for the night unless needed elsewhere. He smiled as he looked out over the students, but his mind was elsewhere. Instead of being able to enjoy this evening, he was worried about the Headmaster back in his tent. While he was perfectly confident in his colleagues’ capabilities of taking care of him, Alaric knew what the man needed, most were stability and routine. Anything to bring a sense of familiarity and safety. Alaric wanted to back out of the trip initially, he suggested sending Professor Karr in his stead, but his friends assured him that Solomon would be fine and that Alaric needed the trip for fresh air.

The dhampir took a deep breath and let it out silently, looking out over the students that were already using the telescopes, laughing on the blankets, and enjoying the picnic baskets. Maybe his friends were right, it was one night away, and he would be there every other night to ensure the man’s safety and peace of mind. His clawed hands grabbed the picnic basket on his table and pulled it towards him, wondering exactly what was inside. He gently shifted things aside before selecting some meat and keeping his mind focused on the night ahead.

She continued to pick over her food, rolling slices of cheese inside of slices of meat alternating that with either e piece of fruit, vegetable, or a pretzel. Santario continued to watch, observe, and make little mental notes about people as she sat at her picnic table. It would be when she noticed that someone’s course wasn’t going to lead them walking past her picnic table, but walking towards it, did her eyes snap over to the boy who had the outburst during the HoH’s announcement. He was the boy that ate raw meat at the BBQ, not too many days before this evening. For the most part, she had stayed clear of the boy, not because of fear, but more just because he seemed like he didn’t want anyone in his life. She wasn’t one to just interject herself like these other bubbly little schoolgirls. She enjoyed her solitude more so than others.

She did not hide the fact that she watched him as he approached, and when he took a seat, she understood why he preferred his meat raw. He reminded her of the professor that lead the evening, but a bit more so of Kaegan. Now, that was a boy she hadn’t seen in a while, sadly, he was fun to talk to. Yes, it was beyond a doubt that he was like them as well. Not that it bothered her in the least, she couldn’t care less what people were. “Your typical picnic fanfare. Bread, cold cuts, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, candies, and most things in-between.” Her soft silvery voice answered after swallowing the bite of food that she had in her mouth. “I’m Santario.” She offered figuring that if she hadn’t introduced herself first, they were likely to dance around the topic all night, but she could be misjudging the boy in front of her. She had seen him all of twice over the entire year, and that wasn’t nearly enough times to formulate a proper opinion of him.

The boy said he hadn’t did stargazing too.
Lindsey suddenly felt relieved. She wasn’t really glad when staying with some know-it-all kids——because she’s one of them (though not this time). However, she never told others that she could actually do something well——that’s really annoying, right?
“You can sit here, if you want.” he said.
“Thanks.” Lindsey muttered, and sat down.
The sky was truly beautiful, or gorgeous. She had never been so close to stars before. Maybe she could take Enj and Ferre here next year when they came to London. Anyway, she’d advertise it to her family, for sure.
The Springhalls were all curious and interesting people, so Lindsey was very certain that they’d like it.
She went through Eyre’s list of stars.
“It’s very interesting.” The young badger murmured. She found herself not as talkative as she used to——or, she’s not talkative at all.
She silently nodded while listening to the boy talking about the stars. He seemed very nice.
“I'm Eyre, by the way. I'm a Gryffindor. What about you?” the boy asked.
“Ah…I’m Lindsey. Hufflepuff.” she smiled back. “But my brother’s in Gryffindor and so is one of my good friends.”
For this good friend, she referred to Lizzie. That little lion’s really great.
However, for now, Lindsey felt that this lion seemed pretty great too.

A lingering grin was playing across his features as he heard Dee's snapback and turned to walk away to head over towards the area of blankets that his tentmates had acquired, that girl was something. Casting a gaze along the rest of the open area of tables and blankets, he recognized a few but decided to go and join the rest of his mates for the time being. Friendships would be formed more closely without the weight of classes upon them and he'd take full advantage of the fact that they'd all be entering the second year with each other; besides Aurelia, that monster hunter was welcome any time to give Rafa a fright for Zyks own amusement.

With his bag of Jelly Slugs in hand, he stowed his free hand to the pocket just next to where his aspen wood wand lay tucked within his waistline. Dee had positioned herself on the blanket, Ileen next to her of course and Zyk would just walk up casually and plop down next to the pair of them, "You know I can't stand this star crap," he said out of the corner of his mouth, letting the bag of Jelly Slugs settle down between himself and Dee, for the time being, figuring she'd take her liberties with them as she pleased. Feeling a bit stuffy, he'd take the hoodie he was wearing at the time off to reveal a muggle band t-shirt with the word 'Nirvana' written across it. Settling his hoodie behind himself then, he'd turn to tuck it into a soft pillow-shaped form and look to his side and notice that Eyre was there.

A nod would be given to Eyre, "Oy' Boyo, what's good?" he asked casually, after a moment of the pleasantries, he'd notice a girl approach Eyre and sit down with him there and he gave a little wave of a hand towards Lindsey, a girl he had met multiple times before and he had no issues with, for once, "Hey Lindsey," he said, then gave a side-eyed smirk over towards Eyre and let them two have their little awkward conversation. Zyk wasn't above keeping an ear out in interest though, it'd be fun to see how other Gryff boys interacted with girls, apparently, he had been doing it all wrong as of lately, with all the drama that was attached to him.

Settling himself down on the blanket, he peeked his head up for a moment to peer over at Ileen, "Wants some Slugs?" he questioned, looking down towards the bag he had between himself and Dee, "I'm sure we can find some slugs up in the sky somewhere," he looked up back towards the sky and saw three little stars that form a dumb-looking line, "See," he pointed, "A slug," he huffed, "How riveting," he mused, a little laugh continuing on from him. Figuring though that the others might actually want to enjoy whatever this even was, he settled himself down and relaxed for the time being, mind going a little elsewhere when he thought of the girl that he was supposedly dating and hoping that she was going to make the move on her real crush.

"Really?..I wonder if I've seen him round before." Eyre commented. "All of my siblings were in Ravenclaw and Slytherin when they were here, but I'm the only one in school now."

They sat in silence for awhile, Eyre trying to find another star on his sheet. He mumbled to himself, looking down at the paper that was now in Lindsey's hands and the night sky. He had scratched off a few more once he was able to identify them, before giving up once he heard his stomach growl.

"So...where are you from?" He asked her, opening up the basket to gawk at the treats. He frowned when he noticed just how many Jelly slugs they'd packed away in his particular basket. Eyre felt particularly selfish in that moment. Even if his new friend had liked the treat, there was no way that he could feasibly pay attention to their conversation if he had to watch her eat them. He had a strong dislike for Jelly slugs ever since his sister Annalisa had told him about the spell that could make you vomit them. Ever since then, he couldn't eat the treat without picturing them suddenly turning sentient and wriggling around in his maw.

Once he had retrieved the packages, he had turned to Zyk who was paying less attention to the stars in the sky, and more towards the treats that had been provided for them.

"Oi, Zyk. All yours, mate." He said in disgust, tossing them gently into his lap. He knew that his fellow housemate would like them a lot more than he did, considering that his group kept devouring him. In lieu of the Jelly slugs, he chose a chocolate frog, which was ironically a lot less gross to him by comparison. Also, he was an avid card collector.
