! Snowball Fight !
The plans for Matilda's day had been cancelled as soon as she heard news from some of the other professors that a game would be going on that day. She had decided to be more social recently, and this would only be another step for her trying to become more involved. She tugged her yellow and black Hufflepuff scarf tighter around her neck as she ventured through the hallways of the Scottish castle, and out into the cold snow.
Approaching the large group of students and professors alike, the brunette bent over to scrape up a good amount of perfectly white snow in her hands, compacting it together to form a firm ball. The snowball was cold against her bare hands, but she didn't pay it much mind. She observed the people around her - a blonde Hufflepuff girl, the Head Boy, another Hufflepuff boy, and Professor Blackburn. Was it just her, or were there a lot of Hufflepuffs around? Her choice to go for her friend was obvious, and she rose her arm to aim at the Charms Professor's back. She wasn't the most confident in her throwing abilities, but there were some times where she got lucky and actually hit her target.
With one more breath, Matilda hurled her arm forward, releasing the snowball as to throw it.

Delilah looked outside the window in the Ravenclaw commonroom, SNOW. She loved snow so this was just the topping on her already good day. After she had put on her coat and scarf she had headed outside, seeing a snowball fight had broken out on the grounds, she saw quite a few of her friends there, "Serena, Siege, Reid, Dymph, Clary." She muttered as she listed them out, there were a few others who she recognised but those 5 were the ones she had talked to the most. There were some professors too, the charms and divination professors. She make a nice round snowball and decided on who to throw one at , her aim wasn't the best but hopefully luck was on her side today.
She looked around once more, too scared to throw one at the professors, not that she would get in trouble for it because it was just a snowball but still. So she opted for one of her beforementioned friends, just had to pick one, preferably the closest to her so she had a higher chance of hitting them. She looked back to the teachers, they both looked really happy. It was something to loosen off their shoulders though, de-stress, so it would make sense that they should join in. Now back to victim finding. She looked over at Siege who wasn't too far away, he looked in a complete world of his own and Delilah smirked. Got you, this is for calling me smarty. She thought as she tightened the snowball in her hand and lobbed it right at the side of his head.

Dmitri Jones huffed out a small cloud of moisture as he strode towards the Deputy Headmaster's office, wanting to inquire about something from Charms. He was carrying his notebook tight to his warmly-clothed chest as he rounded the corner--just in time to see said Professor close the door to his office and walk down the hall purposefully. Tilting his head in curiosity, he moved stealthily to find out what got Professor Blackburn striding out of his office this time of day.
Shafts of glittering sunlight from the sky as well as those reflected from the crisp, white snow filtered in through the windows lining the hallway as boy and professor traversed its path towards the castle entrance. Though he is loathe to admit (the Slytherin boy hated the cold with a burning passion), the view outside was spectacular. Snow crystals and small icicles hanging from trees colored the air with iridescent sparkles and glistening light, giving everything an almost ethereal feel--it was quite beautiful, really (although it would take a lot of effort to convince Dmitri to tell you that).
Everything became clear when they both reached the grounds outside the castle and Dmitri saw the Professor lean down, scoop up some snow, and threw it in the general direction of what seemed like a gaggle of students and professors thoroughly enjoying a snowball fight. If he were to be honest, the mischievous, almost-boylike grin that the professor wore as he joined the game made him more... rakishly handsome.
Dmitri cleared his throat as he looked away, flustered at his own thoughts.
Needless to say, it wasn't only the cold that colored the boy's cheeks red that day.
Stuffing his notebook in his winter cloak, he leaned down and compressed a pile of snow in his hands, ready to start pelting his own snowballs--more to distract himself from his sudden little Lockhart-crush on his Charms professor than having fun for fun's sake. Looking around, the only clearly familiar face that he saw was that one Hufflepuff girl that he met at the library who was as passionate as him when it comes to magic and technology. With a little giggle to himself at the anticipation of a good time and a quick furtive glance behind his shoulders at the now-laughing Professor Blackburn, he let loose the cold projectile.

Mary had heard from her prefect Serena that when there will be some snow, they will organize a snow ball fight. So when she woke up and saw the white grounds she was both happy and excited. She put on some ware clothes and took her gloves to make sure she would not get cold and could enjoy the game as long as it will go on. Once she was sure she will be protected for the wind and snow, she made her way towards the outside.
She walked outside but realized she had no idea where the battle was taking place. She looked around and noticed a group of people not so far from the great lake, some where running and hiding so she thought that will it and started to walk into that direction. She started to recognize some people, mainly those from her house, James, Peach with who she was shearing the dorm... While approaching she started to think, who should she target, someone from her house and create some in-house battle, or someone outside her house? Her first snow ball was now ready but she was not really good at throwing them so she decided to keep approaching a bit to make her hit chances increase. When she thought she was close enough she raised her hand and threw the ball. She had decided to go for dorms solidarity.

Eira was already outside in her warm winter clothing with her oversize Hufflepuff scarf wrapped around her face covering over her mouth. She was busy making snow angles by herself when she heard Selena Towers yelling out Snowball Fight. She lifted her upper body to where she was in a sitting position and grinned, "I've been waiting." It sounded a bit too evil in her mind, but nevertheless she begin making multiple snowballs by her side ignoring the back of her head being messy and covered in snow.
It was a beautiful day indeed. She was glad to be a early bird in times like these. Once her snowballs were finished, it seems like a few students were already there before her. She came right up into the mist of the fight and eyed her potential targets. "Who shall be my prey?" she whisper underneath her breath, when she then spotted a little doe. (Or at least in her eyes. lol) Eira was in predator mode. Like the one she had seen a cat outside of her home eyeing a yellow bird.
She grabbed her already made snowballs in her arms and threw it across the field of snows into the icy air at James Lachoneus.

Mellowrose was wrapped in a thick jacket, so much so that his arms couldn't rest at his sides with so much material. His big boots stomped through the snow as he looked around for his cat. Calling his name, Fluffy, Mellowrose was looking around the exit when he heard laughter, followed by a meow. Fluffy was standing in the door way from where Sawyer had come from. The cat walked off soon after, strolling Hogwarts in search of somewhere to rest. Mellowrose cursed the cat for wasting his time before departing to check the laughter.
When he reached the grounds being used for a snowball fight, he immediately begun rolling a ball. He leaned down to push it along, as he neared the group, his ball grew in size. Once there, he hefted it up, grunting as the thing was as wide as his torso. He watched Matilda scoop snow up, waddling towards her from behind as she was distracted. Right after she threw, Sawyer threw his humongous snow ball. "Take this, you—!" he cut himself off as he remembered who was around him, raising the snow ball above his head and using all his might to launch it at Matilda.

Jason had been outside long before the chaos ensued. The boy has always loved the snow. Ever since he could remember, he would stay by the window all day watching as it fell from the sky covering the yard and street in a thick blanket of white.
He wouldn't even play in it for most of the day. He didn't want to ruin how pretty it was untouched by his hands. It sounds weird, but it made sense to him and that was all that mattered. But, he didn't want to tell anyone over the fear of being called weird.
His nice afternoon was sort of ruined by the Hufflepuff perfect starting a massive snowball fight out in the yard. Before he could react everyone around was joining in on it. Even a few teachers were getting in on the fun.
Meanwhile, he was hiding behind a tree scared to come out. Jason took a few deep breaths before jumping out grabbing a fist full of snow. He quickly shaped it into a nice ball with his hands. His eyes looked around for a close target and fell onto Sawyer. Without much thought, he threw the ball at the professor aiming to hit him in the back.

! Snowball Fight !
The end of the month was approaching ever so quickly, and Amelia had been sitting in her dorm room, watching the weather slowly change and thinking about how she, too, had changed since the beginning of that specific month. The growth within not only her academics but in her social skills had been considerable in the last two or so weeks. If she had time to owl her parents, they’d probably be very proud of their Ravenclaw daughter. A small smile curved her lips upwards at the thought of that, watching the snow come down in blankets out her tower window. It never snowed quite like this back home, and the first year was still getting used to that fact. She briefly wondered if she should take a trek down to the grounds, and quickly decided that would be in her best interests.
Throwing on her blue school attire and her winter cloak over the top of it all, Amelia put on her favorite black knitted hat with the pom-pom upon the top, made her way down the spiral staircase and was out onto the grounds in what felt like minutes. Taking her first steps onto the snow-laden grounds, her mood only got more positive. She assumed there wouldn’t be many students out and about on a morning like this, as when it snowed they tended to be scarce. It felt even colder than usual, which reassured that thought for the eleven year old girl. That thought was proven wrong quite fast, though, as Amelia approached a group of professors and students who all seemed to be engaged in something physically intense. A small, circular amount of snow whizzed past Amelia’s head, giving her a shock as she got closer.
‘What in the world?’ She thought to herself, watching the students and professors alike throw small balls of snow at each other. Although Amelia liked to say she was the smartest in her grade, when it came to simple muggle concepts, like snowmen or truth or dare or snowball fights, it simply went right over her head. Without any hesitation, Amelia made her way behind a tree down by the students and peeked her way around it, watching the assumed game. It seemed like what you had to do was pack a bit of snow into the palms of your hands and chuck it at a fellow student. The idea of such a game sparked the competitiveness that always lied right beneath Amelia’s surface.
Her face was growing a pinker shade, highlighting the freckles that dotted her nose, the longer the Raven was out in the cold. It wasn’t bothering her in the least bit, though, as she decided that she was going to join in, maybe sneakily into the game and figure out how to win. Winning was everything to Amelia. Crouching down in a kneeling position, still behind the larger tree, Amelia struggled for a few moments to roll the snow into a perfect ball. Not too heavy, not too large. The first year didn’t want to hurt anyone. Peeking out from behind her hiding place, Amelia noticed many of her housemates and even the Deputy Headmaster himself!
Giving the area a quick once over, the brunette finally took a charge, running out from behind her hiding spot with a grin from ear to ear. Without really thinking, Amelia put her arm back and launched the snowball out of her dainty hand, right towards a little Hufflepuff-looking lady she didn’t know. It was all in good fun, right? A split-second thought came to the forefront of Amelia’s mind and she sincerely hoped that no one took this game too seriously.

Poor guy gets hit a lot... Sorry.

SUCCESS: Reid Kovacs celebrates as his strength helps him to throw a snowball at Dymphna, hitting her on her chest. Doing his celebration dance, he manages to dodge a snowball from James.
SUCCESS: Ackerley Blackburn successfully hits Eris Elcan on the back. Should Deputy Headmasters attack their students like this?! I guess so! His friend Matilda gets revenge on Eris' behalf by hitting him in the back too.
FAIL: James Lachoneus throws a snowball at Reid whilst he isn't looking. However, an unexpected celebration dance from Reid means that James completely misses him! Unfortunately, he does get hit by Eira's prepared snowballs!
FAIL: Roseline Dove fails to dodge incoming snowballs and ends up getting hit in the chest by a snowball that goes awry, and actually ends up tripping over, faceplanting the snow.
FAIL: Peach Thorne narrowly misses Serena. Sorry! She does, however, get hit on the leg by Dmitri.
SUCCESS: Matilda Barrows is successful in her attempt to hit her fellow professor in the back. She can't celebrate for long though - her colleague, Sawyer, hits her with a snowball that makes a hard thud sound!
SUCCESS: Delilah Stewart gets her revenge on Seige for calling her a smarty when the snowball makes impact with the side of his head.
SUCCESS: Dmitri Jones manages to hit Peach Thorne on the leg with his brilliant aim. He doesn't get hit either! Score!
FAIL: Mary Swan's snowball is hit suddenly by Amelia's, taking one for the team.
SUCCESS: Eica Carnavan's already prepared snowballs successfully hit James, the yellow bird.
SUCCESS: Sawyer Mellowrose launches his snowball with all of his might, striking his target Matilda with a hard thud.
FAIL: Jason Arwater was too quick when constructing his snowball and it falls apart halfway towards it's target.
FAIL: Amelia Lovell's perfectly crafted snowball runs into the one Mary herself has thrown and explodes into a cloud of white on impact.
Let Round 2 begin! Time to get your revenge!

James watched in temporary dismay as his snowball misses Reid. Oh well, time to switch targets.
As soon as that thought enters his head, James gets a cold pack of snow shot at him. Having close to no time to react, James gets hit with the snowball, causing a burst of white flurry to explode around his shoulder.
Instantly, James looks around to see who had thrown the snowball. And he finds another Hufflepuff looking straight at him almost like a predator does to it's prey. The girl, whom James did not quite recognize, had an already prepared pile of snowballs at her side, ready for her use or disposal.
James grinned and dove to his left into the snow, causing some of the snow to shoot up around him. He quickly packed together another ball of snow and stood up to throw, this time, aiming directly at the one who had hit him earlier. He side-armed the throw curving it towards her. He ducked down, ready to prepare another one, hoping that he wouldn't get hit again. He had no idea if points were being counted or not, but he didn't really care. He was out here to have fun! And maybe make some friends!
He looked back at the girl, wondering why she had gone at him. Maybe they could be friends too... as long as he didn't get hit too hard by her snowballs, he thought, chuckling.
