Emmanuel was thankful for the school day being over, and his belly quickly full of scrumptious food from dinner. However, this Friday evening; Emmanuel had a mission. He walked into the library, following his usual mental path to his favorite armchair amongst the ceiling high shelves full of tomes, scrolls, and books.

Em glanced around at the other students, before setting his rucksack down (a tightly sealed jar of frog slime rolled from a loose pocket, which Em quickly tucked into the bottom of the bag; not wanting to give the librarian a reason to scold him if seen) at a leather armchair he had nested in several times before. The light from the lanterns and candles in the library bathed this chair with a warm, consistent light. A small table rested near by, a perfect place to perch books in waiting. Em let a content smile flash on his face, looking forward to spending some time researching into something he was curious about, instead of just studying for his classes.

Emmanuel ventured over to a series of shelves he had spent time searching through; books about various magical beasts. Though he felt he had a slightly above average comprehension the the wonderful creatures that roamed the wizarding world (provided by his father who was a preservationist and magi-zoologist); he focused his search on one creature specifically: the demiguise. Perhaps it was just a longing for his friend Chica (the demiguise who lives with the Bourne family, and has since before Em was born) at home, or he felt he owed it to her to know more about about her, and her sight into the future.

A large, leather-bound book zoomed into his outstretched hand from a high shelf; Em made his way back to his cozy arm chair. He had to step around a house elf helper, muttering an "Excuse me, sir," as he passed. Emmanuel settled into the armchair, opened the book to the index, and turned the pages to the chapter about the Demiguise. He flipped the pages over a few times, his eyes jotting down the page without taking in the information; distracted by his own mind, and the scratching of a quill from another student near by.

Athena had been studying since the end of the school day. She found a little area in the library and hunkered down with her backpack, notes and quills. Ever since coming to Hogwarts, she has loved the challenges of every single class she was taking. Charms and the focus it took, Transfiguration and it's precise movements and yes, she was even enjoying the long History of Magic lessons.

Currently she was working on some Defense against the Dark Arts homework, getting ready to take a test on this material on monday. She had gotten to a particular hard question, she swore she learned about it in class, but it wasn't coming to her. So she got up to look for a book in the library that would help her with this question.

When she finally found "Intro to Defense Against the Dark Arts", she headed back to her study spot to try to find the answer. The library had started to get more crowded, which didn't bother her. She actually found it soothing, at her old school students never even used the library!

She sat down and opened the book, and after about fifteen minutes of searching this book, she still couldn't find the answer. She started to scrap her quill against the parchment, a nervous habit.

Emmanuel watched the tall, brown haired girl bounce her leg, and scratch her quill against the rough parchment. Em recalled having seen the girl before in the common room. She was speaking very quickly to other first years about something incomprehensible to Em. He watched her brown eyes dart along the pages, turning them over fervently; her search apparently not fruitful as of yet.

Scratch. Scratch. Scratch. How could she not be annoyed by her own tic? Em rolled his eyes, and looked back at his book. He began to read a sentence, describing how the Demiguise can see the most likely immediate future. Scratch. Scratch. Scratch. Emmanuel looked back up, annoyance flaring in his face. Isn't the library supposed to be a quiet place? He wished that he had mastered a silencing charm.

Em looked around, before pulling out a small square of parchment, and a quill. He dipped the tip into some ink, and scribbled out a quick note:
Mind putting the quill down? You're setting my teeth on edge with that scratching. If you need to find something so badly, I could help (so long as you stop that noise!)

Em folded the parchment, blowing on the ink to help it dry faster. He grabbed his wand, looking around again, before doing a subtle swish and flick, whispering "Wingardium Leviosa!" The note began to float, and Emmanuel directed it toward the first year Ravenclaw, finally releasing the spell when the note would fall onto her head, and into the book she was searching.
