Character Backstory: Rosie was a very curious child, always bothering her parents with questions about anything. At the age of seven, her parents put her in cello lessons, in hopes of keeping Rosie busy. Rosie grew to love playing the cello, and spent two hours every night practicing. As an only child, Rosie's parents had plenty of time to pay attention to her, and help her with everything. At a young age, Rosie knew she was going to go to Hogwarts just like her parents did. She loved hearing their stories about learning magic, adventures, and how her parents met at Hogwarts. Instead of a bedtime story, Rosie's mom would tell her stories about her time at Hogwarts.
First Instance of Magic: At the age of nine years old, Rosie was deeply invested in her cello lessons. Unfortunately, she had been having a particularly bad day that day. She couldn't seem to get the notes right, and her cello teacher kept getting frustrated with her. As the minutes went on Rosie became increasingly stressed, because she felt like she was under way too much pressure to get it right. As a result of Rosie's frustration, one of the strings on the cello snapped in half. Then another one, and another one, until all of the strings on her cello had snapped. Rosie squeezed her eyes shut, completely frightened by what had just occurred. She didn't know what had happened, she had just been so frustrated with herself and it built up until she couldn't take it anymore. Rosie sighed heavily, now more sad than frustrated. She had gotten this cello for her seventh birthday. It was a special gift from her parents. Rosie began apologizing to her cello teacher profusely, saying she didn't understand why the strings had snapped. She began to cry, worried that her parents would be angry that she ruined her first ever cello. Later that night, before bed, Rosie explained to her parents what had happened. Her parents, both being wizards, immediately knew what had happened; Rosie had experienced her first incident of accidental magic. Rosie's parents had had a very similar experience when they were her age, and comforted Rosie until she felt better about it.
