𝕷Another year had arrived at Hogwarts and there was only one thing that would kick start it into being one of the best years. That was a party by the Great Lake. The lioness may have been grieving her grandfather who had tragically died back in July, but that did not mean she could not have fun and get her mind away from the darkness that threatened to pull her under. What could be better than spending a day by the lake with friends, especially young unsuspecting first years and having a grand old time? Honestly nothing besides a date with her boyfriend, Mikey, could beat that.

Avery spent the entire morning after waking up at sunrise to make sure everything was ready. She would be setting it up as a party even though there was much more that lay behind it. She wanted the older students like herself to at least have something to snack on as the chaos began. She would also permit the first years to have some as well. Especially if they were part of the chaos.

The lioness would also be standing there in case something happened and a quick spell had to be administered. She wanted no one to be upset or injured for the duration of the event. She wanted this to be a fun way to bring in the new year of Hogwarts and introduce the new first years to a taste of how Hogwarts was.

Once everything was set up, well, there was only one thing left to do. And that was to wait until the people came and the chaos began.

Xio had already planned in her mind that morning that she would stop by the Great Lake.

There were always little treasures there if one bothered to look—smooth rocks polished by the water, stubborn flowers growing where they had no business growing, and, if she was especially lucky, something lively she could catch with her bare hands before letting it go again. She liked the lake for reasons she could hardly explain. She had grown up with the ocean always close by, and any body of water seemed to call to her in the same familiar way. It was almost as if she belonged near it, bright and restless and impossible to keep still for long.

She hoped she would find something colorful for her dorm collection, or a flower to send to Enno for her nite-nite letter to him, but what fate had provided her instead may be a sign her presence had bigger plans today.

As she skipped along the pathway leading toward the shore, humming a vague tune, she slowed. Her eyes widened, and a delighted squeal escaped her before she could stop it. She hurried forward, nearly tripping once, then again, catching herself with a laugh each time before racing the rest of the way down.

By the time she reached the area, she had immediately spotted @Avery Gray. She had spoken with Avery before, she had given her pointers on Quidditch, and the sight of a familiar face made Xio grin even wider. She bounced lightly on her heels as she came to a stop near Avery.
Gluten-Morgan!
She said brightly, with all the confidence of someone very proud of a phrase she almost certainly had wrong. Her attempt at German was, as usual, delightfully terrible, the sort of mistake she made without a single hint of embarrassment.
What is all this about? Is it someone’s birthday?!
Her gaze drifted immediately to the treats laid out nearby. She did not reach for them, but only because she was clearly fighting the urge with all her might. The temptation was written all over her face.

Aster was exploring again, this time looking for signs of magical creatures. She'd already discovered three doxies in a patch of tall grass that morning, and had a grand time chasing and being chased by them, before finally losing them in a particularly dense stand of bushes. She was hoping to find a gnome or two before she needed to return to the Castle and change for breakfast.

Her hair blew messily around her face as she wandered down a muddy path toward the Great Lake, the rhythmic squelching of her wellies punctuating the cheery melodies of the songbirds. A brisk breeze played across the hills, turning her ears red and causing the trees to make a glorious rushing sound.

As she rounded a small hillock, an unexpected scene came into view. It looked like someone was having a party by the Lake, although not many people had arrived yet. Aster almost turned around to go back the way she came, but she caught a whiff of something delicious and her stomach grumbled.

She hesitated. She didn't want to intrude, but perhaps she could at least greet the people at the party and meet a few new faces. Maybe they would have extra food, and invite her to have a scone.

Her mind made up, she set off towards the group. As she approached, she recognized one of the people standing near the party area. She had seen Xio Arcana around several times already; they were both Ravenclaw first-years. Although she didn't think they'd been formally introduced, she and Xio had participated in several of the same activities, and it was nice to see a familiar face.

The other girl was an older Gryffindor. Aster hadn't met her yet, but she seemed both sweet and powerful. She was on the Gryffindor quidditch team, if Aster wasn't mistaken.

Aster smiled and waved happily at the girls. "Good morning! It's a lovely morning for a party. What's happening out here?"

Bella was simply outside one morning for a walk. It was a beautiful day, after all, and she took the time to just enjoy the feeling of actually being at Hogwarts. She walked towards the Great Lake, wanting to see the beautiful views again and maybe paint it later if she can.

That was when she heard loud talking. She wondered who would be up at the lake, so early in the morning. Then, as she spun around looking for the source, she saw it.

There was a table, decorated with amazing pastries and people laughing. It seemed that there was a party of some sort.

She saw several people she knew, and others she didn't. Xio, one of her closest friends, were there, and so was Avery, who she had saw in the halls before and said hi. There was another Ravenclaw girl who seemed about the same age as Bella, and a couple other people.

Bella grinned, walking up to the party. She was really interested in knowing what is going on!

"Hi! Good morning! Wow, this looks so fun and all SO DELICIOUS!! What are we celebrating here? A birthday? A perfect score? Just having a party for fun? Can I join?"

The crisp autumn air hit Vivienne in the face as she made her way to the lake. Autumn had always been her favorite time of the year—trees starting a cycle of regrowth, a start of a new beginning. Or, perhaps it was the perfect weather, which felt neither too warm nor too cold. It wasn't often that Vivienne got outside like this, especially alone. Although it had been a more than a month, Hogwarts still felt new and unexplored. What other time of the year could be better for a pointless stroll near the waters? The answer was none.

As she approached The Great Lake, something unusual caught her attention. What she had expected to be an empty field occupied only by the occasional student was instead set up for a party, complete with different types of snacks. Oh, she remembered suddenly. She had heard it fleeting in the hallways—there was some sort of a gathering taking place near The Great Lake. Open to all.

She wasn't originally planning to attend. She didn't know these people anyway. However, now that she'd come here already, the idea didn't seem too unappealing. Maybe she could go, have some fun, make some new friends? Whatever it might be, only 3 or 4 girls had arrived yet, and Vivienne would have no problem approaching such a small crowd.

She wasn't sure if she recognized anyone there, but maybe she would've seen the older Gryffindor some time in the common room. A small smile came naturally to her face as she approached the girl who seemed to be the one who organized this;

“Hey! What's this about? Is it a special occasion?” Vivienne questioned, addressing the whole group.

The powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?
