! Snowball Fight !
What in the world had she walked into? The blonde had just stepped through doors into a full on snowball fight. Everyone seemed to be having fun with it though, no nasty people ganging up on anyone else. There was a fort in the works too. Legit. She stood near the doors for a moment, remembering the fun times that she had in the snow with her family and thinking that maybe Hogwarts had truly become her home away from home at last.
No one seemed to notice her yet so she scooped up a snowball of her own and looked to see who she wouldn't feel too rude about pelting. She didn't feel comfortable throwing them at strangers, needing to really get into the snowball fighting spirit before she could do that. Instead, she looked for people that she knew from the common room, classes or clubs. There was Clary, her fellow Ravenclaw on the newspaper team. She had gone to her for some advice a few days prior on an article she had been writing but other than that, they hadn't had the chance to chat.
Oh! She was going after Bloom. It was too late to try and warn her friend so instead, she sent a snowball flying towards Clary. Hopefully she wouldn't see it as revenge and they could all have a good time playing in the snow.

Anatole, who had just woken up from a so-called "long winter's nap," heard the commotion outside his window. Frantic to observe, or even participate in the action, he dashed out of the Gryffindor boys' dormintories after draping on his long winter cloak. Once again, it was the season.
Anatole, before departing, called for the other boys in the room to join him. He didn't want to be lonely, and he could quite possibly form an alliance, he thought. Just like an actual fight from another fantasy world.
As he strolled into the warm, bright snow, he watched the students outside. It was if they were armies in the middle of battle, hiding behind trees, shielding themselves with cloaks, trying anything not to be shot in the head by mushy water.
Eager to join in, Anatole scooped up a snowball of his own, his hands growing red from the extreme cold. Trying not to transfer the warmth too much, he ran behind a putrid bush and formed the cluster of snow to his liking. Once Anatole had grown fond of his massive mess, he needed to scout out a target. After all, it seemed like the only logical thing.
Peering out over the bush, he aimed and tossed a snowball at a Slytherin, running out of the bush since he was noticed as now a member of the fight.

Kaegen looked around, and saw some kid standing there. He had just thrown a snowball. Kaegen decided that he might as well throw a snowball at him. There wasn't much point in not. Kaegen was pretty sore, and this snow was mushy. He had recently gotten into a pretty bad fight with one of his pets, but in the end, it got it's bath, and he got a lot of pain to deal with. His movements were not quite as smooth as they normally were. Not quite as soft. But it was enough. He picked up some snow and formed it into a ball, taking as careful aim as he could manage, he let the snowball fly. Soaring through the air, it heads for the head of that one boy he saw earlier. On closer inspection, he could see the robes of a ravenclaw. The boy was in his house. Wait, was he even allowed to throw at someone in his house? Would he get in trouble for that? Kaegen wondered if his house was supposed to be like a cult, it's members swearing loyalty or something. He hadn't sworn anything, but maybe it was implied? It very well could be an implied rule. But it was too late to take back the snowball now. It was flying straight for james.

Siege breathed in the cold air of the grounds, walking with his hands in his pockets. "It's pretty damn cold innit?" Muttered Siege, walking up to a spot, quite the scene. Students, teacher, all throwing snowballs at each other...Well he has thrown things, but it sure as hell weren't snowballs, that much I know. But back to the story, he was intrigued and frankly quite interested in the small little event that they had going on there.
The boy let out a yawn, quite a bored one actually. He wasn't one to find fun in events like this, often liking the rush of adrenaline, that a physical fight would often give him. He's not an addict per say, but he definitely preferred an actual fight, rather than a "Snowball" one.
"Huh? That...? That Serena? What is she doing here? What the...FU---! Goddammit, avoid eye contact, avoid any contact...avoid...Wait. Why the hell am I saying this?" Muttered Siege, feeling what he does not know to be Awkwardness, or avoidance of it anyways; Poor boy, quite the innocent heart really. But back to what he'll do...
"Seems interesting nonetheless...Guess I'll try it..." The boy would say to himself, handling a handful of snow, only for it to melt abruptly. "What the hell?...Oh crap, my heart's beating real fast...Is it because of Serena? Is it?... I've gotta calm down now, or I won't even get the chance to throw anything at all..."
Siege would take a deep breath, a bit sharply, but definitely calmed him down a bit more, at least to the point when he can grab a handful of snow, and mold it, rather than melting it all. "Well, here goes nothing..." Siege would say to himself preparing to throw the now-dense snow within his right hand.
"Einee-Minie-Miney-Moe...Well it seems Snake-girl's getting it..." Breathed out Siege, launching the snowball at the girl-prefect.

Huh.
Apparently a snowball fight had broken out in the grounds. It was quite the scene; prefects diving out of the paths of incoming snowballs, first-years huddled together -- was that the groundskeeper? It seemed everyone was getting in on the battle. Adam was surprised not to see his brother in the middle of the fray. This seemed right up Dean's alley. Oh well, he thought, that doesn't mean I can't join in. Throwing himself into the middle of the battlefield, Adam figured it was do-or-die, and he was never one to turn away from competition. So many friendly faces out here: Bloom, Eris, Kaegen. Some people he'd like to target, too, like the Hufflepuff prefect he'd had a friendly (maybe one-sided) rivalry with for a while in Hogwarts' game circuit.
There were plenty of opportunities all laid out in front of him, seemingly too distracted to notice a new player on the field. Should he join in his House's efforts to protect their own, or should he go rogue with some friendly fire? He knew he had to make a snap decision if he didn't want to lose the element of surprise. Reaching down and scooping up some snow, he mulled it over as he formed his weapon. Finally reaching a decision, he ducked down to make himself less of a target and set his aim. This shot had to be precise....
"Hey, Kaegen!" he called out, hoping to get the other boy's attention. Hurling the snowball forward, he watched it fly on its course, and prayed he hadn't made the wrong choice.

Reid could hear the yelling from the distance, what was going on? His hands slipped into his pockets and started off towards the sound, squinting a little from the cold. He was worried at first but relaxed at the sight of everyone simply pelting each other. Snowballs? Oh man this was perfect, it was just what he needed after today. Forget studying, he wanted in on this fight. This was like that one scene in that space movie, the huge fight in the snowy tundra of some far off planet. It was a pretty good movie too, that was one thing he liked about the muggle world - their movies. His imagination ran wild, maybe a little delirious from his lack of sleep as of late.
What side was he on though? "Rebels or the empire ..." he mused, starting to pack snow in his hand. Reid pinched the snowball a bit more, making it as tight as he could. He got a twinkling in his eye as he spotted a few familiar faces, but he was interested at one in particular. Bloom? No. Serena? No. Dymphna? Yes, target sighted. Maybe after all of this, he'll end up having his ears snowed in and finally an excuse to drink all the hot chocolate he wanted.
Oh yes, this was going to be worth it all. The boy fixed his scarf and started forward, first into a slight jog till it turned into a sprint. "For the rebellion!" he howled. The boy jumped over a mound that almost tripped him and threw a snowball at Dymphna.

Ackerley has been quietly reading a novel in his office when he heard the first laughs. What could that be? He could not recall any special event going on today so why so many children could be heard. The young man disposed of his divertissement and slowly took his spider, Denise, in his hand and carefully laid her on his shoulder. He then slowly got up and turned his head toward the mysterious laughing that was waking his curiosity. It was the children, of course, it was them all. A few prefects but also, some professors. Was this Darren that could be seen down there? It seemed like they were all enjoying a good old snowball. A few questions were going through his head. Why was he still inside instead of being down there, annoying the children like he used to do? Perhaps, it could also be a great time to fight against a few of his colleagues.
It was decided, Ackerley would be joining them. What a childish Deputy Headmaster he was. Fortunately, he could not care less. It was only a small fight in the snow. Ackerley took his coat and his gloves and walked out of his office to get to the ground entrance of the Scottish castle. At that small distance of the actual activity, the man could feel the happiness in the air. It was indeed, a joyful event. A small smile could be seen on his neutral figure. This day was a cold one, but it seemed overheated by all of the student's energies.
From his peripheric vision, professor Blackburn saw a small student from Gryffindor. That would be his first try. Indeed, being in a snowball fight meant that he would participate in it too. He would not only sit and watch them steal all of the fun. Quickly getting down and taking some snow in his hand, Ackerley made a small snowball and threw it toward the first year girl. Hopefully, Professor Cazarez would not mind him annoying his dear Gryffindor fellow.

James woke up that morning to see a very welcoming sight. Snow!
Now, James was rushing out into the soft powdery snow, lightly bundled up with his black jacket and blue jeans. He was wearing his new boots as well, with some wisely applied wool socks. He (maybe somewhat foolishly) had the front of his jacket open, revealing his bright yellow shirt underneath. He was topped off with his black beanie and protected with gray snow gloves, the kind that doesn't let water through, but also allows reasonable movement (excluding the action of picking up a quill).
As James came running out onto the Grounds, he beheld a most glorious sight. A snowball fight!
James spirits rocketed skyward, higher than they had already been, which was saying a lot! James ran down the hill, carefully placing his feet on the ground so he wouldn't slip and fall. Turns out, he should have gone slower, because he stumbled and went rolling down a few feet. Laughing at nothing but himself, he crawled down the rest of the way, balling up a snowball in his gloved hands. He went to throw it, not knowing at who, but stopped mid-throw.
Deciding differently, James brought the snowball to his mouth and took a cold bite before dropping it and balling up another one. James saw a lot of people in this snowball fight, but one that he specifically saw that wasn't too far from him... was Reid. Reid was also getting a snowball ready, which meant he was distracted. Taking a chance (for James very well knew that someone might be aiming at him too) James lifted up his arm and chucked his snowball at Reid, aiming for his core, not his face. Hopefully his years of muggle baseball would help.

Rose was just getting back from the hospital with her new friend Strawberry shortcake aka Eris who kept trying to convince Rose that she wasn't actually a goddess. She was enjoying the redhead's company when Eris had the brightest of ideas and decided to jump into the lion's den with her ball of snow fury. Standing there like a doe in headlights it took the hand of an angel to snap her back into the real world. The Angel was Lucette a first-year Slytherin that she had met in one of her classes. Rose, instantly felt a connection with the raven-haired female like they had been best friends from birth, which she found funny because she lived on an island away from humans.
A feeling of excitement or maybe, she was getting sick from the medicine that the nurse had given her at the nurse office. It seemed Princess Puff started a snowball fight oh no athletic stuff the thing Rose was not the best at. Soon enough though she was dragged to the ground along with Lucette, turned out they were making a fort. Rose smiled as she went along with the plan without complaining like the good child that she always was. Noticing a few more people joining their little team which, made her really happy that meant more friends for Rose to make.

Peach had stepped onto the grounds, the idea to work on her herbology a little in the head. But, when she walked in on her fellow students throwing snowballs at each other, the idea evaporated out of her little brain and a smile illuminated her face. She observed everyone having so much fun and she tightened her scarf around her neck. Sadly, she wasn't wearing gloves today but that wasn't going to stop her.
She ran in the middle of the battlefield, making sure not to be hit and she hid behind a small mountain of snow. Her cheeks were rosy from the cold and she looked around. There were so many students that she didn't know but she did recognize her house's prefect, Clarissa and...no one else. She really needed to go out more to meet people because they could have so much fun together as they were having fun now. She picked up some snow in her small hands and she quickly shaped it into a firm ball, ready to throw. She wondered who she would throw it at when Serena, her house's prefect stopped at a meter or so from the young girl. A sneaky smile appeared on her face and she threw as hard as she could her snowball towards the poor Serena.
