The Ravenclaw Quidditch Team Tent has a small wooden deck out the front door where a picnic table and lounge chairs sit beneath a canopy to block out direct sunlight. Fairy lights have been hung about to create a soft, warm glow for late night hang out sessions under the stars. Inside the tent opens up to reveal a large open area. On either side of the tent are two rows of five simple twin sized beds with white sheets, each with its own night stand and space at the foot for a trunk. There is a light on each nightstand, as well as a drawer that can contain a seemingly bottomless amount of junk accrued over the summer holiday. A long white curtain hangs along the back wall, and can be opened up to reveal a floor to ceiling window overlooking the campsite. There's a long table centered in front of the window, with five seats on either side. The ceiling of the tent angles up toward the center, from which hangs a large round lantern over a series of bean bags, poofs, and other mismatched seating furniture.

Ever since Grace joined the Quidditch team, she was looking forward to something that wasn’t classes or tests, she was happy to be apart of it.

Grace was wearing a simple white tee and jean shorts, she was wearing black running shoes and white socks, her hair was up in a braid, it was a nice summer outfit.

Grace had her small gray rat Biscuit on her shoulder as company.

The small girls bright blue eyes were filled with excitement as she skipped to the tent.

When Grace found the tent, she smiled, she was with another bag that wasn’t the one she always carries, it was more of a sleepover bag, it was filled with all of her important stuff.

Grace walked in the tent, and set her bag down to check if she had everything she needed.

She got out her checklist, which she checked multiple times, and checked her bag again.

“EpiPens, check” Grace muttered to herself, digging through her bag.

Grace dug through, and found the first aid kit her mother insisted to take with her, Grace checked that off her list.

Next was her pyjamas and clothes, Grace checked that off.

Hair ties, check.

Water Bottle, check.

Grace finished checking off everything and smiled.

Grace put Biscuit down and patted her head gently.

She was ready.

A ghost-like pale figure in a white cloak approached the tent: Aida. Pulling down her hood, the violet-eyed albino girl smiled as she discovered that there was an area outside that she could enjoy... with a full wooden deck, at that! As a claustrophobe, casual access to outdoor spaces was very enjoyable indeed. There was even a canopy outside to protect her pale skin from the sun. This was looking better and better. What was more, Aida was getting very excited about the upcoming quidditch match between Durmstrang and Hufflepuff. It would provide her an excellent opportunity to flex her strategic muscles on something other than a life-threatening situation for once.

As a newly minted co-captain for Team Ravenclaw, Aida's heart was full of house pride and optimism for a fun summer. Pulling her small, home-made drawstring bag from her back, she raised it to her nose to enjoy the smell of its leather and cotton. Then, drawing a deep breath, Aida stepped inside the tent only to find that it was actually much larger on the inside than it had appeared. This was cause for relief, if not celebration. Spinning around once in an uncontrolled burst of happiness, Aida then moved towards the bunks. There was someone else there, too. Grace. Aida waved hello and gave a gentle smile.

"How do we know which bunk is ours?" asked Aida with a friendly tone.

Okay Elspeth. This is it. Showtime. She stood at the front of the tent maze with a map in her hand of where her assigned tent was. Although she'd met some of the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team just the other night at the goodbye party, Elspeth was still mostly new to this crew of folks and was, therefore, a little bit nervous. After a long train ride down from Scotland and into London (almost all of which was spent sleeping against the window given that she hadn't slept much the night before) all she really wanted was a chance to unload her things and lay down for a little bit.

While growing up, Elspeth had gone camping fairly regularly with her dad up in Snowdonia. It was just a few hours drive or fly north of Aberystwyth, and her dad loved any chance he could get to take a long weekend off from his work baking croissants to show her his favorite camping grounds. Summer Camp wouldn't exactly be wilderness camping, but it was almost comforting to see so many tents pitched up around her. Alex Gollens was a proud muggle and insisted on packing his beloved muggle tent on trips, much to her mother's incredulty. "But, honey, why would you want to bring that when I've got my tent? It's got way more space for all of us." "Oh poppycock. Camping isn't about a spacious indoors! It's about being wet and cold and a little uncomfortable on the ground until you get crabby and want to leave, but then you wake up in the morning to that view and suddenly," he pinched his fingers together in an ok-sign, "Suddenly it was all worth it." Needless to say, her dad wouldn't be excited about her setup.

As she walked up to the small outdoor deck area, Elspeth paused for a moment to take a little breath. It's going to be okay. They accepted you on the team. They're not going to kick you off now. Plus, Cec will be here! You're going to have so much fun. She planted a boot on the deck, stopping at the door to take her shoes off before going inside.

Elspeth looked around, taking in her new home for the next month or so. All wizarding tent interiors are unique, like snowflakes. This one seemed to have come out of an Ikea catalogue - fairly sparse and mostly white. She tried not to smirk, a little disappointed that they didn't have a tent with more pizzazz. Aida and Grace had made it in before her, and she nodded in greeting to them before walking over to the nearest bed and plopping her bag down on the sheet, then falling into it herself. For a brief moment, it seemed as if she was going to spend the whole first day of summer camp asleep.

Until she heard it. A soft, chittering sound. Elspeth sat straight up in her bed and looked over toward the two other players in the room. "Does... Does one of you have a pet?" Her eyes wide, ready for the chance to shower pets on a small creature.

Grace was setting her bag near her bunk, with Biscuit back on her shoulder, it was her favorite spot.

Then she heard someone enter, Grace turned around to see Aida, the Quidditch teams new Co-Captain.

Grace waved kindly to Aida, who waved too.

"How do we know which bunk is ours?" Aida asked Grace.

Grace shrugged “I just picked a random one” Grace told the Co-Captain.

She looked at Biscuit, who was becoming fidgety and started crawling down Grace’s arm, which kind of hurt with her claws, Grace set down her little rat onto her bunk and sat down on her bed, petting Biscuit.

Elspeth then entered, Grace didn’t know her as well as some of the other Quidditch team because she was new but Grace still smiled and waved.

As Elspeth was also getting settled in her bed, she seemed to hear the chittering from little Biscuit.

"Does... Does one of you have a pet?" Elspeth asked the other 2 girls.

Grace became nervous, what if she doesn’t like rats!?

The small Ravenclaw lifted Biscuit up with her in Grace’s palms.

“Y-Yeah, I couldn’t leave her a-alone...” Grace said nervously, it wasn’t the only reason she brought Biscuit, she also brought the small gray rat to comfort her.

Biscuit made the soft chittering sound again, and Grace placed her on her shoulder, it probably made Biscuit feel like a queen to be so high up, even if Grace is short.

It was finally time. All through the train ride, Asteria had been wondering about what the inside of her tent would look like. Would it be spacious? Tight? Fancy? Basic? There were so many questions popping up in the young Ravenclaw's mind and that she would now finally be able to resolve them once and for all.

At least from the outside of the tent, it looked quite pretty and not too rustic which was good, at least from her perspective. As someone who had never been camping in her entire life and didn't exactly wish to start anytime soon, Asteria cared that the place where she was staying was at least somewhat modern and comfortable. She took one last look at the outside of the tent, admiring the fairy lights and general aesthetic of the tent.

Standing at the entrance to the tent, Asteria took a deep breath, preparing herself to enter. She knew she would be sharing a tent with the rest of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team although she hadn't exactly gotten to know any of them. It wouldn't be a bad idea to meet some of them since they would be her teammates once the Quidditch season started back up again in the fall. Hopefully, this would help her learn to at least coexist with these people.

All this waiting and suspense was tiring out the young witch. Moving quickly, Asteria flung open the door and took a look around to soak in her surroundings. Much to her dismay, it looked like a very plain tent, nothing exciting. She gave a sigh, proceeding to flop on a bed in the corner after setting her bag down beside it. She hadn't managed to get much sleep on the ride over and a nap was looking highly appealing. Still, she had just gotten to camp! It was absolutely not a time to take a nap just yet. Asteria propped herself up and looked around at the rest of the people already in the tent, trying to get the motivation to unpack her things.

Elspeth rolled over on her bed so she was laying on her belly, facing the center of the room.
She saw as Asteria walked in and gave her a small head nod of recognition before her eyes fell upon the tiny rat crawling around on Grace's shoulder. Her face puckered up into a tight smile as she squealed a little "AWWWWW. She's so cute!" Having never been around a pet rat before, she wasn't sure what the protocol was - were they afraid of loud noises? Could she come over and pet it? She stayed on the bed, just to be sure, figuring Grace would let folks know if and when it was rat baby time. "Have you named her yet?" The only thing cuter than a small fluffy animal, was a small fluffy animal with a cute name. She rested her head in her hands, elbows supporting all of her head's weight and sinking into the soft mattress below. As plain as the room was, she was fairly comfortable - which was nice after sitting on a hard bench on the Hogwarts Express for so many hours.

Asteria appeared to be in a similar place, having flopped on a bed after entering. There was something about a long train ride doing nothing that really exhausted a kid. "Are you tired too? I feel like that train ride was so much longer than the one to get to Hogwarts at the start of the year... or maybe it was just my company," she added that last part quietly, not wanting to seem grumpy about having to share a compartment with someone who'd insisted on bringing the smelliest tuna fish sandwich to eat that her nose had ever encountered. The thought made her want to gag a little, but she focused on where she was now to pull her back out. The door to the tent had been left open, letting in a nice breeze from outside that smelled like freshly cut grass and warm sunlight, the perfect cure to the memory of stinky tuna.

Elspeth didn’t seem like she didn’t like Biscuit, she actually was really excited about her, she squealed and talked a bit loudly.

Grace smiled “Her name is Biscuit” she told Elspeth.

“You can pet her if you like! Just come here, she won’t mind!” Grace said to the excited Elspeth.

Grace enjoyed having the company of Biscuit, and obviously, Elspeth did too.

Astria Knight then entered, Grace waved at the tired looking girl, who took a nap almost immediately.

“Are there any boys joining us?” Grace asked, she didn’t see it as a problem though, she spent her entire life growing up with her twin and older brother, and some of her life with her baby/toddler brother.

Grace started to get comfortable in her bed, with Biscuit still on her shoulder, cuddling near her neck.

Grace had been camping many times as a kid, her parents do it every year on summer break, this year they were doing it without her since she was here with the Quidditch team.

The tiny Ravenclaw got a book out of her bag, it was a new one she got, and she hadn’t read it yet.

Grace opened her book and read for a bit.

Typically, spending an extended period of time in close quarters with people she didn't particularly know or like would turn Cecily away from an event such as the annual summer camp, but this year was different. No, this year, there would be Quidditch involved, and she just so happened to be a sucker for the sport. Plus, there was another upside-- she wouldn't be bunking with anyone she hated! Given, she wouldn't be sharing a tent with her three closest friends, either-- who went and decided to bunk without her anyway (rude)-- but she would be sharing a tent with her favorite Quidditch team in history: Ravenclaw's.

Departing the train with a slew of other students, Cecily scanned the crowd. She wasn't quite sure where she was going, to be honest, but she figured that someone else on the team probably had a clue. But she couldn't recognise anyone from the back of their head, so she simply wandered into the maze of tents, hoping for the best. Really, that was her strategy most of the time, and it usually worked out, so chances were, she would unwittingly stumble upon the tent in no time.

She continued to search the crowd as she walked, keeping an eye out for anyone she might recognise from the team. The tents, very simple on the outside but likely beautiful on the interior, brought back a slew of nostalgia Cecily wasn't prepared for. She remembered, when she was much younger, nights of lying in a shelter of canvas just over the hill from her home. She couldn't have been more than half a mile away from the Quinn's cottage, but with just endless grass and sky, she felt like she was the only person in the world. Her brothers, too, had begrudgingly followed her at their mother's command, but even after an evening of complaining, staring at the stars always managed to shut all three of them up.

Cecily looked up at the sky now, clear and deep blue. She hoped there would be good stargazing. She had already invited Amadea to the event, eager to share the view with her best friend. But for now, there were more pressing matters to attend to, as-- like time an time again had predicted-- Cecily's strategy of aimlessly wandering had appeared to do the trick. She recognised Asteria, their backup Chaser, duck through an entrance a few tents down. Cecily smiled and followed her in.

The tent itself was small, with a lovely deck off the front. Inside, however, physics once again took its leave. The single room stretched much farther out than should have been possible, but that was magic for you. The style seemed to be sparse and modern. Cecily was more of a rustic, cottage-in-the-Alps sort of girl, but the alternate seating strewn through the room was a saving grace of the decor. As she was for Quidditch, Cecily was even more of a sucker for beanbag chairs. Who needed chairs when you had poufs to sit on?

Cecily smiled at the four girls already occupying a tent before making her way to the back. She prefered corners, places where people wouldn't bother her if she didn't want them to. With no particular purpose, she selected the bed on the back right, and dropped her things on top of it. She didn't bother unpacking; she could always deal with that later. For now, she was in a weirdly social mood, so she figured she should probably make conversation with her tentmates before it became awkward. She sat on the bed, bouncing a little, facing the other Ravens.

"Hey team!" She greeted them with a smile. At least she knew everyone here; that was something she enjoyed. Introductions were the worst part of interactions. That was simply a fact. "Quite the place we've got here," she added, looking around. It wasn't exactly her style, but even after just a few minutes, the minimalistic, modern look was growing on her. It was so much different than anywhere else she, country bumpkin extraordinaire, had stayed, but she thought she could get used to it here.

Elspeth's face squished up and she hid her eyes behind her hands. "Ahhhhh! Biscuit is such a good name!" She removed her hands from her face and looked at Grace, very seriously all of a sudden, "Does she... does she like biscuits? OH I BET SHE NIBBLES ON THEM ALL QUICK LIKE" Her eyebrows scrunched up and she covered her mouth while trying to suppress a squeal of delight. The idea of the small rodent nibbling on a very large cookie was too powerful for the small Ravenclaw to handle. After a few moments of tense cute overload, she rolled off the bed and walked over toward Grace, slowly at first to make sure she didn't overwhelm the tiny fluffy friend.

"Um, I've uh, I've never pet a rat before. Is there a right way to do it? Like, they only like their butts pet or something?" As cute as the small rat was, Elspeth was very aware of its sizeable and sharp teeth. They werent frightening, necessarily, but they were to be respected and treated carefully. A vision of her dad, slowly approaching a hurt fox in the woods popped into her mind. "You've gotta be gentle with it, to show it that you're not going to hurt it. Humans are predators to all animals, and they're smart enough to know it." Tentatively, she put out her hand so Biscuit could get a smell of her before she got any closer. "Huh, I dunno. Jorah and Neculai said they'd be bunking somewhere else... but I can't remember who all's on the team, if I'm honest." Elspeth continued to maintain eye contact with Biscuit, who appeared quiet happy on Grace's shoulder and very interested in sniffing her hair. "Course, if there aren't any boys in the tent, then we're kind of like the Holyhead Harpies, huh?" a grin spread across her face at the thought of being anything like her favorite Quidditch team. Her broom skills were less than desirable, but she'd take any comparison she could to the fastest flying women of Wales.

Just then, Cecily walked through the tent door and made her way back to a bed toward the far wall. It was exciting to finally have a chance to get to know her Prefect better. Unless she turned out to be mean... which Elspeth pushed out of her mind. Instead she offered the girl a nod of recognition before motioning her head toward Grace. "Hi Cec! Did you know Grace has a lil rattie?"
