Aldor Humbleglow.
So that was the ginger's name. It was pretty, and Rose liked it a lot.
She also liked his Irish accent. It was so soothing and beautiful that she couldn't possibly describe it in any other words. He also looked... cute. Not in a sibling sort of way, but as a boy. Rose knew it was wrong to have such thoughts when they had just met, but she couldn't help but think that he looked rather adorable with his green, captivating eyes and orange hair. Of course, Rose would never say it out loud.
When Aldor invited her to read something with him, she was surprised. Rose thought that she had butchered her whole relationship with him since she was awkward and weird. What surprised Rose, even more, was what came next.
What!!?? She had accepted without thinking how scary it would be to spend time with a stranger? And how, how had she managed to say that without stuttering?? It was probably the first time she had ever talked to someone (other than her relatives) without messing up a line. This only meant that Rose was hopefully getting better at communicating. Maybe this year... wouldn't be as bad as she thought. And maybe, just maybe, she would have a friend along the way."Sure. I would love to."
But first, she would have to do what she meant to do when she approached him.
Rose just hoped that it didn't make him afraid of her again. After all, inside, she didn't want to be lonely, no matter how often she ignored it."Also, I want to make sure if, you know, you hurt your arm and want me to take a look at it."@Aldor Humbleglow

Aldor still seemed a little nervous, but did not refuse to accept her help, he'd slowly stretch out his arm, his hands were still shaky, but of course, they were always like this. One of the most obvious traits that would be noticed when seeing his arm, was the fact that all his nails were chewed away.
The boy would only look at her, remaining quiet, he already made two actions that seemed to go fairly well at this point, but somehow, he really feels unsure of what will be his next move, just like in chess, one action can make this work, or bring it all down horribly. Somehow, he seems to be confident enough to let her check his arm, he wasn't really that hurt, just a bruise, but no more than that. ''I-t's not really that bad, see?-''. Aldor gave her a warm smile, trying to make this situation less akward, but even with all of this, he's unable to make direct eye contact with her. Every time he tried to lock onto her eyes, he would look away, not managing to get rid of the obvious blush on his face.
Perhaps, this will not go as bad as Aldor thought.

When Aldor offered his arm out to her, the first thing she noticed was his worn-down nails, obviously because of a chewing habit. She didn't mind. On the contrary, she thought it was very him. Even though she didn't know Aldor for very long, she just...knew. Very strange.
He stated, smiling. His face was dusted with pink and his lively green eyes intrigued Rose even more. She was excited to get to know him and wanted to be his friend already. He seemed friendly and looked like a positive person. When she checked his arm, all she saw was a small bruise. So, it wasn't as bad as she had thought. She smiled shyly back at Aldor, wanting to reciprocate his manners.''I-t's not really that bad, see?-''
Rose laughed awkwardly. She had always had a pretty laugh but this one sounded especially out of place. The boy also seemed weird. He would look away every time she tried to talk to him, which made her feel a little self-conscious. Maybe he didn't want her help but was too polite to reject it? People are confusing. Nevertheless, she still wanted to help him. Perhaps it was her mood? Or was it the fact that Aldor seemed like a genuine, kind person who made Rose want to get to know him more?"Yep! I-It's not that bad. Some ice will do the trick."
It was a warm feeling, a feeling that Rose wanted more of.@Aldor Humbleglow

He couldn't help but smile at the sound of her laugh, as awkward and out of place it sounded, he just smiled. ''B-y the way-'' Aldor stuttered. ''I'm sorry if- well- my clumsy fall made you interrupt something important you were doing-'' The boy seemed sincere, as if he had actually done something wrong.
''I uh- '' For the first time he'd lock eyes with her, he never really took the time to actually see her eyes since she offered her help. He immediately stopped shaking, and just stared at her eyes, captivated by the young lady. But as soon as he realized how awkward this felt, he began stuttering again. ''E-h, please excuse me I-'' He'd sigh ''I'm not good at talking, and- it's even worse with women- you must think i'm a total weirdo-'' The boy chuckled silently, as he tried to remain calm. ''I-I hope i did not bother you, miss-''
For some reason Aldor decided to use that title, and it sounded awkwardly polite, as if he was talking to someone superior, and respected, unlike many people who used this as a way to bother young women, Aldor seemed to be doing this with his best intentions.
He really is very different than the other boys.

Aldor was pretty mature for his age. He called her a miss, which made her heart pound in her chest for some reason. Nobody called her that, except for a few teachers and the adults back in Corringham. So, it made it even more special for a student to call her 'miss'.
When Aldor said that he hadn't talked to girls a lot before, Rose pondered on it for a bit. She hadn't really talked with any boys either, that is before she came to Hogwarts, anyway. It was fun and good that she had come out of her comfort zone, even if it was for talking with people of the opposite gender. That was when Rose realized that nothing but good had come out of the first few weeks since attending the school. She had met more people, finding out that there were people similar to herself! She had also found a wider variety of activities that she couldn't do back home.
Before, she had been afraid to come, since it was her longest time away from her mother. The two had been close, even though they barely saw each other. So to spend a whole year away from her mother? Impossible. Well, that was before, and this is now. She could have friendships with people she never would've met otherwise. Rose smiled silently to herself before nodding with sympathy toward Aldor. She knew that if she could crack his shell, he would be happier, just like Rose had just realized just moments before herself.
Rose grinned and was surprised at the new-found confidence in her voice. Maybe realizing how great an opportunity had been given to her made her feel better about herself. Now all she had to do was to convince Aldor the same thing."Don't worry, you 100% didn't bother me in any way. And it's totally fine if you haven't spoken to females a lot before... I haven't either with guys either. So you could say that we're basically on the same page!"@Aldor Humbleglow

Aldor stopped for a bit, slowly understanding that this probably isn't as bad as he thought, even though, he really doesn't know what to do at this point, he was out of words, and only managed to open his mouth for a few seconds, but nothing came out.
He'd only look up to her, in confusion, trying to figure what his next move should be.
''S-o'' Aldor said, without really knowing what would come after that, ''W-hat about we sit down for a minute and read while we still have a bit of time?-'' His voice was soft, nervous, even a little anxious, he always hated those moments when he doesn't know how to react or what to say, he feels as if he had no control of the situation, and this made it even more difficult for him to interact with anyone. ''W-ell, of course, if you have- anything to do or you just don't feel like it, you don't have to-''
Aldor smiled nervously, he didn't want her to feel like she was obligated to be with him. Even though he barely knows her, he feels a need to be with her, after a long time he finally has been able to talk to someone, without running away or having a panic attack. But what confused him even more, was that strange feeling within him, that made him even more nervous around her, that every time he looked at her, he couldn't help but smile back.

Rose replied. She was finally going to make a new friend! It felt wonderful to have someone who she could trust during her years at Hogwarts. Somehow she already knew that they would make a great team, so what better way to start that friendship than doing something they both had a passion for? Maybe sharing similar interests could make them better friends."Yeah, I'd like that a lot. I-It's not like I was really busy anyway,"
Rose felt obligated to make Aldor feel welcomed for some unknown reason. She felt an invisible force pulling her toward him because he seemed like such a wise and interesting person. Rose wanted to know more about this mysterious boy she had met and wanted to hang out with him. It was a peculiar feeling as Rose had never felt possessive in her life and this... forward toward another person."So, what book were you reading? I'm... honestly okay with everything, so you can choose."
It might have been something in the magical atmosphere and influence of the school... or maybe it was something else. She felt something brewing inside her, like a potion of feelings. It was the first time she had felt this way. Rose loved it and already had a suspicion that it had something to do with the charming ginger.
She couldn't wait to enjoy what this school had to offer.@Aldor Humbleglow

Aldor looked down, inspecting the books that he choose, he'd akwardly chukle realising that he wasn't even paying a attention to any of the titles, and he just went from shelf to shelf picking anything that was in his way. ''w-ell-'' Aldor said with a nervous and quiet tone. ''H-ow about you show me what you like to read?-'' He'd look back up to her, finally managing to establish eye contact without just staring with his mouth open. ''I-I don't really have any sistematic way of picking my books- I literally just- pick what I find-'' Aldor would titlt his head as he turned to her, he did not seem as nervous compared to the moment that they started to talk.
As much as Aldor tried to think about the books and many different topics, he couldn't just stop thinking about her, this was a strange and even scary feeling for Aldor, somehow through all this years, he has never felt anything like it. Even his aunt joked about how Aldor was such a nice and wonderful boy, and he has never fallen for anyone, and when any girl in the town tried to talk with him, he'd always find an excuse to avoid it, but this time he didn't run away, he actually want's to stay, and for the boy, this is extremly confusing, and he actually wants to ask her what this feeling was, but something within him tells him 'you'll ruin it, do not even ask'.
But even with all of this confusion, Aldor decided to stay.

Rose rambled on and on about the books she had. It was boring, she knew, but she couldn't seem to stop talking! It was like she'd been hexed! Eventually, Rose hung her head in embarrassment and sighed."O-oh, me?" Well, I'm currently reading Quidditch Through the Ages since I, um, want to join the team. I don't even know why, but I just... do. Sorry if it's boring. But I also have From Egg to Inferno: a Dragon-Keeper's Guide since I find dragons pretty interesting!"
Why was she so lame? She could've said any other thing and a conversation would have started flowing. But no, she decided to ramble on and on about books! And in front of Aldor! She felt something in her that she loathed and loved at the same time, which made the situation even more awkward. Sure, she could bear saying that to anyone else, since she wouldn't care as much. But in front of this ginger? Rose winced at the thought. It was a mistake. Maybe she shouldn't have been so confident in herself."A-Aldor. I'm sorry. I know I'm boring and annoying so I understand if you don't want to read with me anymore."
She didn't want to hurt Aldor's feelings, however, so she stayed put and let the guilt slowly consume her.@Aldor Humbleglow

He was speechless, he listened every single word that came out of her mouth with attention and interest, he could not simply understand how she excuses herself for talking, Aldor has never been very talkative, but he always enjoyed listening stories from his aunt, and learning more and more, maybe that's why he loves so much reading. His eyes would be locked onto her, every single second of this conversation seemed interesting to him, and made him even more curious about her.
Aldor would smile kindly, slowly reaching for her hand. His innocent eyes were filled with wonder, and all of his shyness seemed to fade away for a few seconds. ''You don't have to feel sorry for what you like- Or for liking to talk- I-I think it's something wonderful, since i'm not really good at it-'' He hasn't realised what he had done, and just kept talking with so much confidence while having his hand on her's. ''You should be happy for being yourelf- many people never manage to do so- and as I said, I'm not good at- liking myself- but I-I think you're great-'' He'd smile, with a slight blush on his cheeks. But all of the wonder of the moment went down horribly as he realised that he had her hand. He'd slowly let go of her. ''I-I'm sorry, miss-'' He'd look away blushing. ''W-e should- read what you like the most, b-oth of the books you're reading seem very interesting- ''
What was even that? How could Aldor do such thing? The fear filled him, as he expected her to be mad, maybe all of what he did just went down, and all the effort was in vain.
