Adora stepped out of her last class and into the already-bustling hallways. Students chatter about, And Adora heard snips of conversation over many different topics: recent sporting events, crushes, homework, among other things. She hummed softly to herself as she walked, her books clutched tightly in her arms like a hug. She'd had a nice summer, and her mom had found a job working at a muggle fast-food restaurant. It wasn't the ideal situation, but it was one the whole family could live with. Her satchel had a small painting of a paw on it, painted by her and her brother just before she left for camp. Her brother was a little distant after he had tried to help with her writing. Adora didn't think about it 24/7, but it often filled the empty void of her thoughts whenever Adora was alone. She wanted to know what she did or said wrong so, so badly, but she simply couldn't bring herself to invade Her brother's privacy. Students were still buzzing throughout the halls, though the crowd had thinned out a little, as she turned down a hallway. One of her books nearly slipped her her arms, but she scooped it back up before it could fall to the floor.
