═ ∘◦❦◦∘ ═Lizzie smiled at the girl who had just introduced herself as 'Ackerman'. That obviously wasn't her first name but if it was what she wanted to be called the Raven would respect that and not press on to figure it out as that would be very rude and probably not keep the neutral status between the girls.
The Ravenclaw took her hand and shook it smiling more. It was nice to know some people to actually decent in the time of 2020. Many people she had met just took one look at her and made an opinion. Never even got the chance to make a real opinion. Even if some of them were right it was not a good thing to just judge someone because of their appearance.
She quickly had to look away as she saw her 'boyfriend' walking over to her. She surpassed a smile and put on a small frown. She took her tin whistle from her ear and placed it in the closest pocket. After looking at the boy, who had placed a book near him, she felt a hand slid into hers. She could no longer put up the act of pretending to be angry and let a smile form on her face.
Sighing quietly, she pushed some hair out of her face and pushed her free hand along her legs. She hadn't thought about what she was meant to do here other then sitting down which would be very boring. Lizzie was defiantly not an organised person. She loved doing things at last minute including homework and plans.
She turned her head towards Zyk and grinned, "Thanks. You look a bit handsome yourself." She laughed a bit and shook her head quickly while turning to look at the floor. She was going to be so bored sat there while her boyfriend read a book and slightly ignored her. She hadn't even seen anyone she could interact with other then Zykeal and Cassie.
Finally deciding to look around the room again, she locked her eyes on the one boy that had started all the drama she had gotten into. He seemed to be speaking with other people including the ginger Lizzie knew he liked. She sighed again and closed her eyes. The thing she was trying to achieve would never work and it seemed like what she was doing was for nothing.
Trying to shake those thoughts away from her head, she looked up to see Cassie in front of her. She widened her eyes while the person held a hot chocolate in their hands. "Yes Cassie. This.." She looked towards Zyk and leaned in towards him slightly, "This is my boyfriend." She said nodded her head and letting out a breath hopping Cassie would not stay mad at her.
Cassie then walked off and came back with a guitar. Lizzie perked up at the question they asked her, "I would love to collab with you. Maybe the one that we did a while ago?" She said prompting the one that they had done and practiced a few times. It would not be realistic if all of a sudden the best friends started bursting out into song with no idea on who is singing what part.
"Are you alright with that?" She asked both Cassie and Zyk. More towards the boy on her arm though since she didn’t know his thoughts and never wanted to put words into his mouth. She grinned really hopping he wouldn't mind, "I can come back to you straight away." She let go of his hand and hugged him quickly. Maybe it would help sway the boys mind but it was worth a try.═ ∘◦❦◦∘ ═

"Do I like hot chocolate? Please. I love hot chocolate. It's kind of the whole reason I'm here," Rose replied to the Gryffindor girl that had introduced herself as Lizzie. She felt like she had seen the girl around, but in that moment, her name had slipped from her mind.
Rose had earlier said her name, right? Yes, she had.
Then Lizzie said something about her brother liking coffee more than hot chocolate?
Ew.
"Coffee?!" she exclaimed, scrunching up her nose in disgust. Her mom had always loved when she did it, saying it was adorable."Coffee tastes disgusting. How would it be better than liquid chocolate?" She sipped a little more of her hot chocolate. "I mean, no offense to people who like coffee, sorry that was a little rude, wasn't it?" she shook her head, thinking, 'Gosh, I'm not just physically clumsy, but socially, too.... It can't be enough to be one or the other...'
Lizzie looked like she wasn't wanting to go anywhere, so Rose guessed that could get to know each other better.
"Your brother... I'm assuming he's your older brother, right? Do you have any more siblings?" It was a harmless question. She didn't want to dig up anything horrible on their first meeting. Lizzie was a good person.

Quinn lumbered in half asleep and very annoyed. He was running on absolutely zero amounts of sleep and there were very dark circles under his normally bright, and vibrant eyes. The young lad had stayed up all night rereading his collection of Dark Knights Metal and theory crafting with Irene. The young feline was in a similar state except she was actually asleep in one of his large, log-like arms. He carefully cradled her.
Dressed in casual clothes the annoyed looking Half-Giant didn't make much effort to weave in and out of the way of children. Mostly because he didn't need to. Lazily scanning the horizons and yawning letting out a loud almost baritone type of noise. His eyes locked onto a lonesome figure. A familiar figure and as if on autopilot. He simply walked over to her without thinking.
Strawberry red hair that set his heart ablaze, pale skin that made him blush like a school girl, and ocean blue eyes that seemed to stare into his very soul. The misunderstood and equally magnificent Nico Shymane. Why was she by herself? Why was she ignored? Did Quinn need to shove someone through a wall?
Questions for later. He stopped right behind her and reached out a hand. His current look was one of neutral annoyance. But his face was deceptive his hand gently rested upon her head and began to ruffle her hair. His annoyance broke into an exhaustive but relieved smile. He ignored everyone else in the room as for the moment this little Dhamphir had him enchanted all over again.
To fear the unknown is to fear progress, don't shy away from it. Embrace it and discover something new.

Those golden hues shifted up as another figure had entered through the classroom doors after the previous trio of Gryffindors had entered. The frame of the one who entered instantly drew his attention, the girl was one whose presence would cause him to always shift uncomfortably at the moment he saw it nowadays. Ivy had just entered the gathering of students and it caused his hand that held Lizzies to grip a little harder for a moment before he relinquished his strength. Thankfully, a distraction in the form of the Slytherin girl he considered an acquaintance produced herself in front of himself and Lizzie.
Cash had popped up and looked a little bit heated for a moment when she started to question the two of them sitting there, asking if they had something to tell her. A smile formed once more upon his features as he let his book settle in his lap, closing it with a hand and letting his fingers hold the position of his page. Eyes drew up to Cassie as Lizzie spoke up before he could say anything, leaning into him as she spoke up to her friend, confirming their relationship status to anyone within earshot. A little nod of his head was given to the Slytherin girl, smile staying true upon his features as he offered a soft shoulder bump to the girl beside him.
Unexpectedly, Cash didn't seem to take the news well and she walked off for a moment. Instead of dwelling on it, he noted that Lizzie seemed a bit of unease with the situation, perhaps even a bit bored. Thankfully though, Cash walked back up with her guitar and asked Lizzie if she'd do something with the girl. When Lizzie looked over to him and asked her question, he nodded solemnly and looked up to Cassie, "Yeah, you guys go have fun, just' gonna nerd out a bit ere'," he mentioned, nodding down towards his book he had settled into his lap. Zykeal didn't mind whatsoever that Lizzie would go hang out with other people, especially with Cassie, someone he considered a friend.
She let his hand go and he returned a one-armed hug to the girl as she stood and walked away to go with Cassie and do their thing together. As they left, he watched for a moment and let his eyes wander the room once more until he found where the group of Gryffindors were huddling at. Noting who was there, he sighed slightly and found himself pulling his book open once more so he could gaze down upon it and continue reading the section that was most interesting to him at the time. Over time though, those golden irises would flick up in two different directions in turn, one towards Lizzie who was hanging out with her friend and the other in the direction of Ivy, who was with Alan and his friends.

Lizzie eagerly nodded. Her motivation to attend social events mainly came from whether or not they would have food or hot chocolate. Or if any of her friends would be there. But mainly food. It sounded like she and Rose would get along well, from how enthusiastic the other girl was about the best liquid in the world. And how she agreed that coffee was disgusting. And that hot chocolate is better than coffee.Open to interactions!
Laughing, Lizzie responded, "I mean, if you think about it, coffee is bean liquid, and that even sounds gross." Although she often cared alot about others' opinions and tried not to offend anyone, she felt that anyone who couldn't take a joke about coffee not tasting good could go sit in the corner and be offended. One of her biggest pet peeves was when people couldn't take a joke. It's not like her jokes are those actually mean jokes that she ends with "it's just a joke, why are you reacting so harshly?". She makes (in her opinion) funny jokes that would only be offensive to stick-in-the-muds. Obviously, she did make the rare mean joke, and if she didn't realize it's implications at the moment and apologize then, she usually realized later and would apologize.
"He is older, in Gryffindor, actually," she affirmed, nodding. "I have a younger sister also, she's a bit of a terror." She laughed at herself as if she'd just made a joke. "Do you have any siblings? Are they in Hogwarts?"

Rose laughed when Lizzie did. She was right. She had heard one of her brother's favorite YouTubers refer to it as "dirty bean water," which made it sound as gross as Rose thought it was. "Too true," she replied, slurping a little more of her superior beverage, hot chocolate. (Why were they talking about how much coffee sucked? I mean, not that it wasn't true, but it was a strange subject...) She was very glad Lizzie was the kind of person who could take a joke. Her little sister, Jessie, would get offended every time any of her other siblings would try to make a joke about her. Rose had stopped teasing her too bad because of this and sometimes got frustrated when her siblings didn't, but Rose was the kind who could be teased and shrug or laugh it off.
She listened to Lizzie talk about her siblings just a little bit, followed by asking Rose if she had any. "I do," Rose nodded. "I'm the middle child, like you, but of five kids, actually, so I have four siblings. My older brother and sister do go to Hogwarts. My younger siblings, though, obviously, do not. My sister is in Hufflepuff and my brother is in Ravenclaw."
"We could go t-to say hi t-to Lydia, alright?"
At the very sound of the Hufflepuff’s beautiful name, rolling off the lips of the lovely upperclassman, the Captain visibly stiffened, his eyes going wide in fear – Alan, as perfect as he was, always had a way of messing with Rafael’s head, be it his handsome face, adorable tendencies, or the way he muttered the name of the exact person the Captain was trying with all his power to avoid. Oh, well, he supposed he had the universe to thank for this one. Pulling his hood down and closer to his neck, he hunched his head defensively, eyes immediately falling to his shoes. An attempt to hide the weakness he felt. “Yeah, maybe,” he indulged the third year, before looking around for a moment. Would Alan be offended if he chose another course of action? He couldn’t help his wandering imagination, his danger sense scrambling to locate an out from the trap that was slowly closing around him. His gaze, in that moment, caught the refreshments table. Yes! “Or, wait, are those snacks – “
Well, the universe wasn’t done yet. For instead of visiting Lydia, Lydia decided to visit them.
He didn’t even see her at first, his attention so rapt and focused on finding an out. Yet, the voice emanating from behind the child’s back was so silky, bubbly, original, recognizable in nature, the boy couldn’t help the pool of chilling mercury that seemed to pour down his spine, his fingers clenching and shoulders hiking up in surprise as her beautiful voice met his ears. “Hi Alan, Raf.” No, no, no, dammit, why did these things always happen? Why couldn’t he just, go to a party and have some fun without his heart being ripped out of his chest? It didn’t matter now. The boy turned, ready to face the demons that so errantly plagued his thoughts. “Lydia,” he said begrudgingly, chin lifting up as his arms immediately crossed themselves. “Fancy seeing you here.” There was enough chill in his voice to show the girl his true feelings – he was angry at her for what had happened in the Greenhouse… though his eyes, he could imagine, must have told a different story. A story of fear, maybe confusion. He didn’t really know anymore. Nothing made sense.
However, before he could indulge himself further, or even answer her question, his cousin shortly showed her face – a welcome relief, he sighed, his gaze lighting up at the very sight of his fellow Gryffindor. Ariana, my hero. “Hi, Raf, fancy seeing you here.” The child couldn’t help the small grin that came to his face – he nodded, looking down at his shoes again, almost wryly. “Ariana,” he repeated, the name sweet on his tongue as he spoke. He made a note to thank her for her presence later, his mind scrambling for the next action he was to partake – had Alan met Ariana before? Did Alan even care that she existed? It didn’t matter. His nerves were stirring about in his stomach as he nudged the boy beside him, nervous to even attract his attention. “Have you, um, met my cousin before?” he asked dully, looking sideways at the third year. “Alan, Ariana. Ariana, Alan. Ari’s a beater for the Quidditch Team,” he added absently. “She managed to knock Reid off his broom, once, can you believe that?” It was always fun to brag on family, but the distraction was fleeting, and once more, he felt the need to look at the veela girl once more, say something he would regret. What could he even do?
"Hi. I'm Ivy. Do you mind if I stick around a little bit?"
Once again, a fellow member of the Quidditch Team rescued him from his own dooming thoughts. The Captain’s eyes, upon hearing the familiar voice, immediately flew to the newcomer – Ivy Bellamy, he absently recalled, the newest addition to the Gryffindor Team, a girl who looked freakishly like his best friend. Her keeping skills, if he remembered correctly, were quite suburb, so much so that he felt quite proud to have such a brilliant player on his team – anyone who played like that, in the least, could surely hang out with him. Turning towards her, he smiled, holding out his hand for shaking – “You don’t have to ask. Of course you can,” he said in a friendly manner. “I know we’d met briefly during your tryouts, but I’m not sure we’ve properly met. I’m Rafael.” Whether or not she actually chose to shake his hand, he didn’t really care, but the extension had been offered nonetheless. His pride was already in shambles these days, a decline break anything in his ego that hadn’t already been shattered into pieces.
It was then that yet a new face made itself known in the slowly-amassing group – this time, a face the child wasn’t sure he’d ever seen before. The Captain would watch in minor amusement as she exchanged pleasantries with Ivy, a small, innocent-natured smile playing on his lips as he tucked the memory away for a rainy day. It looked like everyone was finding acquaintances – a small fact that took away the child’s distress, if only for a small moment. His mood was changing in the slightest, shifting from negative to positive, a scientific anomaly that could only be chalked up to hormones. Oh well, he supposed he’d make the best of it. The Gryffindor wouldn’t waste a second before sticking his hand out once more, this time towards the new ‘Puff. “Haven’t met you before,” he would extend in an honory manner. “The name’s Rafa. And you are?” His words were friendly, inviting to anyone who cared to listen. It was all he could do to take his mind off of the redhead who’d stolen his heart.

Before they could actually go and greet @Lydia Cooper the girl had already found her way to them which was even better for their situation if he dares say so himself. "Hey Lydia!", he would greet her back equally as enthusiastic and with a bright smile playing on his lips. With Lydia's arrival another girl arrived who seemed to know both Rafael and Lydia. She would introduce himself as @Ariana Walker and offer him a hand which he took smoothly, to return a practiced handshake. "Alan, or Alan Vanes if you must,", he would let her know with a friendly smile, the excitement about the evening sparking in his eyes letting them appear in a brighter green. "You t-two are cousins?" he would ask as he let his gaze wander between Rafael and the girl curiously. When Rafael told him about her being a beater for their team, his eyes lit up with admiration. "Reid? But he is- wow, th-that's incredible!", he had to admit, being a little speechless about this little fact. He knew Reid and he knew that is certainly couldn't be easy to knock him off a broom, he hoped though that the Hufflepuff had been okay.
It was not until long when @Ivy Bellamy decided to join them as well, who he definitely still remembered. "Hi, yeah, we were working on the friendship bracelets t-together! Did your sister like it?", he asked her as he referred to the fact that she intended to send the bracelet she made to her sister back at home per owl. He truly hoped that her sister had liked the gift she had made with patience and lots of work. There appeared to be a lot of students gathering around them which was quite refreshing as he would see a lot of unfamiliar faces even though he was not actively interacting with them yet. Well there were also a few people that he actually did know such as @Zykeal Lane who he had met during a game and later on again during the Blossom Ball. He had been quite nice, asking him how he was after he had fallen into shock momentarily. He had to hold back before he could make a sour face about the memory of how pathetic he had been, nearly starting to cry in front of his friends. What had he been thinking, seriously? Listening in on the small exchange of words between Ivy and Rafael, he became keen, "You were t-trying out for Quidditch, Ivy?"
Finally finding the time to focus back on Lydia he would smile brightly at her, "Th-Thanks again for the book, it's really interesting t-to see all th-those muggle creatures. Th-There are just so many!", he mentioned regarding the birthday present she had gotten for him. He treasured the book and would sometimes flip through it to a random page to learn about an exotic muggle creature.

Lizzie nodded vigorously as Rose explained how she was a middle child of five kids. "Having four siblings seems pretty chaotic," she mused, trying to imagine what her house would look like with two other kids. Instead of being bothered by just Alani every day, she'd be bothered by another child, if not two other children, depending on if one was older than her or not. On the other hand though, if she had two other siblings, then there was a better chance one of them would be willing to accompany her on her morning run (neither one of her current siblings liked running). It was always very lonely when she had to run by herself.Open to interactions
"What years are your older siblings in?" she inquired, curious as to whether they were in the same year as her brother. Just like with Lynn and her older brother, Lizzie thought it would be cool if she and Rose's older siblings knew each other. The vibe she got from her brother made her assume he knew almost everyone in his year, but whenever she judged people based on their "vibe" she was almost always wrong. The only time she'd been right was when her family was debating on whether they should show five-year-old Alani a horror movie. She'd said that her younger sister wouldn't be phased at all by the movie, and when they showed her the movie, she just giggled at it the entire time.
