As part of this adventure, you will be experiencing the world as if you are a muggle. These tents are fully non-magical and you will experience every aspect of staying out in the wild. As part of the cultural exchange we are hoping to provide as well as necessity due to climate, you will be given both a Legend of the Tebo tent adapted for Uagadou as well as a Spirit of the Wind tent adapted for Durmstrang. Sign up with anyone you want or ask for a random assignment to keep things exciting!

How do the tents work?

• Muggle tents do come in all different sizes and can house anywhere from two to eight people.
• Everyone who attends the event will be staying in a tent whether or not you are part of Uagadou or Durmstrang. You do not need to sign up for one if you don't want to RP in your tent, but you should sign up for a tent if you plan on RPing with your tentmates.
• To RP in your tent, follow these steps:
  1. Find a group
  2. Post your tent thread(s).

Step 1: Finding a Tent Group

In order to find people to be your tentmates, choose one of the following two paths:

1. Find tentmates yourself by asking around and/or staying with your friends. Perhaps a group of you are in-character friends and would want to stay together. Perhaps you want to choose who you stay with instead of being randomly assigned. Perhaps you post in RPGs Partners Requests asking for potential tent mates. All of these are fine! If you choose this path, please make sure you have consent from all of your tentmates and then post your group here in this thread, making sure you answer "No" to "Randomly Assigned Roommates".
2. Sign up to receive random tentmates in this thread. If you have a small group but you want more people, or if you have no group and want to have some tentmates, simply sign up here and answer "Yes" to "Randomly Assigned Roommates".
   Note that only one person from your group should post here! Please do not clutter the thread.

Some additional information:

• If there is anyone you do not want to be matched with, please let us know by messaging Emery Albrecht. You do not need to provide a reason; you can simply say "Please do not room me with this person".
• Sign-ups for Tent mates will close on September 15th for the start of the actual events. However, if you find your own tentmates, you may make your own thread on your own.

If you want to officially register your tent group or sign up to be roomed with others, please fill out the following form:

Names of Tent Occupants: The names of everyone who is already in your group (can be just you)
Number of Tent Occupants: How many people are already in your group?
Assign Random Roommates? Yes/No; if you want more people to be added to your group (as long as it is fewer than 8 people) or if you are solo and want to be assigned roommates, put Yes. If you do not want anyone else added to your group, put No.

Step 2: Posting Your Tent Thread(s)

• You can make however many threads you want that take place in your tent over your stay at both Uagadou and Durmstrang, but please make sure you stay consistent and always be in the same tent with the same people. This is your own responsibility, so please stick to this rule and also make the threads yourself! Make sure the description matches the above as you transition from Uagadou to Durmstrang in our event.
• Your tent should have a unique name of your choice to make clear which tent group a thread belongs to; you should tag [TentName] in the titles of each thread ocurring in that tent.
• Please treat tent threads of a group your character is NOT in as Private [PV] - you cannot enter them unless you have been specifically invited by members of that group.
• Each tent thread is still subject to HiO RP rules (200 words minimum). [Note that, while the first post of a tent thread can include the description provided below, this does not count towards your 200 words of RP.

Tent Descriptions

𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔏𝔢𝔤𝔢𝔫𝔡 𝔬𝔣 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔗𝔢𝔟𝔬

This wide tent made of goat hair, camel wool, and sheep wool is naturally weatherproofing, protecting you from rain. The naturally dark fibers that are dyed many colours, create a natural insulation and air circulation, keeping you cool during the day and warm at night. Al Sadu weaving is used to partition the different sleeping areas for each tent mate, along with a separate area for bathroom purposes. This is the only magical portion of the tent with functioning toilets, so as to scare off those who are not used to the wilderness as such. Beautiful figures of the girl in white, the Dream Messenger, will be gifted to every participant of this trip, along with a pillow with an embroidered image of the facade of Uagadou. In honour of the Phoenix, each tent member will be offered a weaved bag also in the Al Sada tradition, with a phoenix design, that will be allowed to use throughout the trip and keep. The bag will already be filled with necessary tools for this section of the wilderness experience, along with blankets. Students are required to set up the tents, pillows, and blankets themselves.

𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔖𝔭𝔦𝔯𝔦𝔱 𝔬𝔣 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔚𝔦𝔫𝔡

This traditional Slavic yurt is constructed with a lattice of Siberian pine, designed to be moved easily. This lattice is shaped then kiln dried to keep its shape. The roof is cone shaped with a hole to let the smoke of the central fire pit out, a sky light of a chimney. The yurt is then covered with sheep wool that keeps it insulated from the cold. Inside, the students will set up their bedding, which is composed of a colorful mat of Chiprovtsi kilim (a traditional weaved cloth) with a layer of cotton, and a blanket made of wool dyed brown to keep the students warm. Each pillow will be embroidered with a design of a red dragon, representing the school's firey strength. Along with this embroidered red dragon, each student will recieve a miniature welded sword with the name Stribog engraved in its hilt. The sword is welded, however, it is only as big as an earing and could not be used for weaponry. This is done in honor of the blacksmithing of Durmstrang's previous headmistress. As with the previous tent, this tent will also have an enchanted toilet, so as to keep this trip unembarrasing for all.
