Quidditch Durmstrang vs Beauxbâtons-Tenūsa - Summer 2026

Akerrah couldn't find the snitch. To be honest, she didn't particularly try to find it. The quaffle was much easier to spot—and hardly anyone seemed to be going for it. The last summer game, a few quaffle goals had helped, so she thought why not go for it? Or maybe it was deeper than that: maybe things didn't matter the way they once had.

Despite this, she surprisingly managed to pull together a significant lead. Even the announcer seemed impressed (if a bit perplexed). Her shoulders shrugged lightly.

As she flew, she shot a glance at the opposing seeker. Luckily, it seemed the snitch still eluded them both.

Rina grinned right back at @Akerrah Koné when her former bobsledding partner greeted her. She kicked her feet – they didn't quite touch the ground off of the bench – and waved the hand that wasn't holding onto the shaft of her Nimbus 1500. —Holaaaaa, y ¡buen suerte!¹— she shouted at the girl she would term a friend (regardless of how close they actually were. Luckily, she knew this one in French. Although it would be horribly accented, she figured it was the thought that counted as she added, —Bonne chance !²

Then it was her turn to watch. Watching Quidditch was pretty fun. Not as fun as watching fútbol³, especially el mundial⁴ with her brother Ros, but still pretty great. Rina watched with wide brown eyes, secretly wishing she could've headed up into the stands and grabbed a sack of popcorn. Chewing the inside of her cheek would have to suffice.

Rina's mouth opened before she really realised she was going to scream. —¡WOOOOOOOO, VAMOS AKERRAH!⁵— she shouted without even thinking. Her broom toppled over since she was no longer holding it, as her hands instead cupped around her mouth. Yeah, that was right! 50 points, all for them. Rina let out a small chortled and bounced her legs excitedly.

The next bout of cheering went towards Quentin. She didn't know the older beater too well, but as he was her elder and buff and pretty good at his role, she thought he was pretty cool. A series of loud whoops and hoots echoed from Rina's mouth, and she clapped excitedly.

She almost didn’t realise what it meant when Peter went down. She just kind of sat there, kicking her feet, until two and two made four because there was only one of their beaters left. With a small jolt, Rina hopped off the bench, scooped up her broom and kicked off, bat in hand. The bludgers would never know what had hit them!

Arno hadn't expected the Bumbatons and dumbusa team to go all out on offense so quick, perhaps it was the advantageous choice seeing the greater number of upper years but the loss of Boram, Felix and Alexios that too all in one round was a big hit. Fortune favoured arno, who was saved by remedy, all by god's grace as he gave her a nod before cruising on.

The captain had preached, speaking as if the soul of the previous captain had reached him in a lucid dream. A warning? A sight?

If only the captain had been able to translate the dream properly.

The speech would linger in the back of her mind, flying around as she looked for her first victim. Were their heads also cut off? Boram did not really pay attention, too excited to play, because they graduated from Durmstrang? Well fuck... seems like she will die of natural causes.

Or of the chocolate frogs that the captain promised.

She would hum in thought, practically tasting the velvety chocolate in her mouth.

Boram had a reason to win as she focused on an opponent before striking. One more player closer to sweets... It was nothing personal; free treats were just too good to pass up.

That was until the frog leaped out of her reach.

She had not seen it coming, a quick flash of brown before she found herself yelping at the impact on her side. The sight of the sky and ground inverted before her green eyes as they stained with sadness.

Not because she is hurt.

But because she won't be able to get chocolate frogs.

I had been flying around in circles, just watching what was happening. Soon, I saw one of my team fall, but I didn’t get to him in time. He was unconscious anyway.
Despite losing a player, Durmstrang had lost 3, and two of them were now sharing a broom. And, Beauxbatons-Tenusa had 50 points. Scored by our seeker. Strange.

Astrid was in the air, not far below the other players. She wanted to make sure the snitch wasn't hidden near the ground, and apparently it was not, she would have seen it. From here she could hear the cheers, from both Durmstrang's and Beauxbâtons-Tenūsa's benches. She smiled as she heard Vilhelm cheering for her. The snitch definitely wasn't in the area, so she looked up.
Just as she looked up, Boram managed to get a French beater off his broom. And right after, Felix was hit off of his. Fuck. In the same hit, Alexios fell as well. And then Arno and Boram. Shit. Well, how nice. Arno was now sharing a broom with Remedy, and Astrid was determined to find that snitch. Durmstrang's winning streak wasn't going to end the second she started playing.

Well that most definitely had not been supposed to happen. One moment Vilhelm had been cheering for his team, the next his features fell into a more serious expression. Boram went down and with her, his optimistic outlook onto the game. He had not planned on playing, in fact he’d been perfectly content with watching so he could learn how the team acted during an actual game.

The moderator called out his name — well tried to, many seemed to have a problem with pronouncing Swedish last names. The surprise wiped off his face, confidence and purpose set into him instead and Vilhelm got off the bench and grabbed his silver arrow. He was in the air in no time, wishing himself luck mentally. He’d possibly need it just this once.

In other games, Aryaan Shamsi would have gone for the Quaffle. Or suck in on the snitch. Or tempted the beaters or distracted their Seeker. Or a million other things. This was not every other game, though.

He had told Durmstrang outright what he would do. His little tribute to Schnell. And to chaos goblins everywhere.

What he had not done was decide who was going to get it, and he was rather surprised that the rest of his team seemed to follow the script he had all but telegraphed. He was more surprised it had worked, when he went for the first chance he saw.

It was not his best angle and for one stupid second, he almost tumbled off his own broom and had to scramble to keep hold of it.

The whistle cut through the fog. Ah. The moderator had seen. Because of course they had.

"Already sending me on scenic trips, are we?" Shamsi called out to the Anezaki, as he was assigned a penalty lap. "Typically dates require that you come with, pretty boyo."

Mamori probably had rules about responding to that.

Aryaan did not wait to find out. He leaned into his broom and shot off towards the penalty lap.
