Despite him not being home as often as her mom, Zuki seemed to be drawn to her stepfather slightly more than her mother. When Ichiro Suzuki, Mizuki’s biological father, had found his way back and her parents finally found each other again, they left with her, leaving Isamu devastated and alone. Zuki sensed his stepfather’s absence and began crying more frequently. Ichiro grew tired of her very soon and by the time she was three, she was constantly ignored by him. When she wasn’t ignored, she was made to bring him the remote, food and multiple other things. Zuki, being young, was excited to do so because it meant being acknowledged by her dad.

The man couldn’t find a consistent job that allowed him to take care of Zuki and work at the same time so they had to move a lot to find decent jobs. This was a strange and unpleasant experience for both of them but especially Mizuki. She already found it difficult to fit in and find friends as well as she treated changes as an inconvenience and a very frustrating thing. At the age of nine, they finally settled down after living in multiple cities and countries. They found a place in Bibury where Isamu finally could open his own village clinic where Zuki often went to after school. In school, she wasn’t popular. She kept to herself and didn’t have close friends. Despite her being empathetic and kind kids didn’t approach her because they found her scary. Being a dhampir came with weird features which the muggle kids couldn’t comprehend and found it weird. 515?

Her first instance of magic happened when she was four after her mom didn’t let her eat what she wanted and made her eat stupid porridge for breakfast. She hated porridge and demanded she gives her something else. She slammed her fist on the table once. Her mother scolded her and she crossed her arms, sulking. That’s when the bowl of porridge exploded onto her mother’s head and covered her full of it. 73

Mizuki’s mom, Sachiko came from pure vampires. Her parents, Akari and Kousuke Yatsurugi wanted her to marry another vampire. She was only eighteen and was strictly against marrying a stranger. She already had a boyfriend, his name was Ichiro Suzuki who was a dhampir. He was elegant, rich and really in love with Sachiko. She hoped that if her parents saw him, they will allow her to continue their relationship.

Despite their efforts, her parents were more than angry about their relationship. They forced Ichiro to leave and never come near their daughter again. What nobody knew was that Sachiko was already pregnant with Mizuki. The young girl had been staying in her room, devastated that she won’t see her boyfriend anymore. She found out a few days after the incident. They didn't plan on having a child, she didn’t know what to do. Her marriage was coming closer and she still haven’t met her future husband. In a panic, she decided to leave right before her wedding day. Her parents decided not to go after her, thinking that this will teach her a lesson and she will come back soon.

She’d been wandering for days, living in hotels. She was fine, the hotels were nice but she was running out of the money she stole from her parents. She needed to find a place. To settle down and figure out what to do with her baby. That’s when she met Isamu. He had just started out as a doctor. They talked a bit and he offered to help her. He allowed her to live with him.

After two weeks of living with him, Sachiko decided to tell Isamu about her being a vampire. She told him everything. Isamu needed some time to process this information but eventually he made peace with it. By the time Mizuki was born, the man had fallen in love with Sachiko. She wasn’t able to reciprocate these feelings because she was still in love with Ichiro. Despite this, Isamu still helped her and took care of Mizuki.

He loved Mizuki like his own and despite not being able to be with her all the time, he still formed a strong relationship with her. He never minded her being a different species than him. He kept her safe from being sunburned and protected her from weird looks.

Not long after her second birthday, Ichiro finally found them and Sachiko decided to leave Isamu, bringing Mizuki with them. Isamu was devastated. He wanted to see Mizuki grow up and find herself in the World. He couldn’t find their location and eventually gave up.

It surprised him when after three years, they came back and left Mizuki in his care. Turns out, they couldn’t handle having a child while being so young. He was very happy to see his girl again, but he needed to gain his trust after such a long time of being away from her. He did everything to give her a comfortable life. He soon became her safe place and because of his encouragement she decided to accept the invitation and go to Hogwarts. 521
