Biography

Mikaela grew up muggle-born, being taken in by his distant family when he was a babe. He knows nothing of why he was left to their care, but holds no ill thought about it. He was raised among a caring family. It left him content, but he'd always felt very distant. He is part Asian, but predominantly English in his traits. Unknown to Mikaela, he is a half-blood, born to a Muggle father, and a pure-blood English mother. His father was part Japanese, thus giving him his Asian roots. Their father had to depart to Japan to return to work and his mother did not feel able to raise a child on her own, thus they both decided on leaving him in the care of his father's English side of the family, being left in the care of his great Uncle and Aunt.

His father was in and out of his life in his early years, and would encourage Mikaela to explore his roots, which led him to practice Japanese privately, and actively converse with his father when they were around. He has no memory of his real mother, having only been with her before he was 1 year old. His family was encouraging in his want to learn, but distant by factor of having to dance between their careers, and caring for much of the extended family, ever generous. Mikaela thought he was fine, letting others have the spotlight, but deep inside that lack of parental focus was felt. It led him to spend his time and energy on personal hobbies and learning, to distract himself. He was easily the most clever among his young family, enjoying to teach them or show off fun tricks with cards, and attempt to fascinate them as these things fascinated him. Never quite landed like he wanted, but he still tried. He was brought through schooling and excelled at all English and Math, doing well in portions of History and Science, depending on the subject matter. The abrupt shift in his life as the magical world entered left him rather stunned, going through the motions very rigidly until his trip to Hogwarts would finally come.

First instance of magic.

An average day of Primary school in Norwich, Mikaela had just turned 10 years old a month prior. The young blonde was enjoying his time in a science class, being shown a presentation on the solar system, stars, planets, moons, and it left him enamored. The fire alarm went off during class, and Mikaela felt torn away from his glee, ears filled with the ringing alarm. The teacher flicked on the lights and the class began to exit, but Mikaela lagged behind, ears ringing in his confused state. Despite no source of heat in the room, the bulbs of glass that triggered the fire suppression burst, allowing water to start pouring down on the room. Mikaela hadn't understood what happened, no one seemed to, the potential danger was all that mattered to the teacher, who ushered Mikaela out quickly as pages and papers left out began to soak. While Mika did not understand, he knew that there was no reason for the sprinklers to go off, and he was the last person in the room.

Wand

Mikaela was bestowed a 23, 7cm aspen wood and snallygaster heartstring wand. It is said to be flexible, gifted with healing properties, and ideal for wizards suffering from an unjustified sense of insecurity. Mikaela doesn't feel the wand fits him as well as he'd like.

Wood: Aspen

Aspen wood of wand-quality is white and fine-grained, and highly prized by all wand-makers for its resemblance to ivory and the outstanding charmwork it produces. The ideal owner of Aspen wands therefore are often those who are accomplished duellists, or destined to be so, for wands made of Aspen wood are particularly suited to martial magic.

Aspen wand owners are usually strong-minded and determined, more especially likely to be attracted by quests and new orders. This is a wand for revolutionaries.

Core: Snallygaster

Those witches and wizards chosen by Snallygaster wands are well known for their speed, both in casting spells as well as in physical activities. They often excel in sports, especially those that rely on speed and mobility.

As a wand core Snallygaster heartstring behaves similar to Dragon heartstring with the difference that it lacks the aggressiveness most dragon cores display. Being not quite dragon and not quite bird, Snallygaster heartstring makes for wands that are powerful but of a warm nature and have a penchant for casting defensive spells. They some of the wands that vary the most in personality and will only bond to the one person who matches their character, though all Snallygaster wands prefer curious owners.

It is said that those paired with wands made from Snallygaster heartstring are hard to surprise and can never be caught unaware from behind. While there is no tangible proof of the latter, wands with a Snallygaster core do have a soft spot for those who are in control of their emotions and very self-aware.

Apparel|Appearance

An outwardly meek, short boy. Mikaela is pale in complexion, with thin almond shaped dark blue eyes. Faint freckles dance on his nose and cheeks. His hair is light blond, a textured cut that peaks just above neck length, and around his nose at the bangs. Some locks curl toward the end, providing depth. His expressions are soft, and he often appears to be deep in thought, looking off into the distance. If he would smile more, he does have slight dimples.
Mikaela, when not in school attire, often sports a faux military-style uniform featuring a dark navy-blue jacket with a prominent fluttering high collar and long, loose sleeves. Dark trousers matching the jacket, paired with boots and utility straps leading up to often grey, black or navy shaded stockings, which hug tightly to his skin. A matching dark cap worn over his short pale hair. There are minor gold and silver(in appearance) buttons, brooches, and grommets. His choice of clothing is from style and taste alone, not for any specific military related reason.
