"That's cool that you were born in Germany. I've always wanted to go there." Lyra said excitedly. She wanted to travel all over the world someday as a Magizoologist, as a potential career. Then again, she did change her mind quite frequently. “When you guys are done with the book, I’ll put it back, don’t worry about that. Anyways, I’m glad you wanna go to the Forest!” she told Teresa, then the Ravenclaw turned to Rose. “How about you Rose? It’s totally fine if you don’t want to.”

As she was talking, Lyra held out her hand for Oak to climb onto since he had wandered off into one of the trees. He clambered in and wrapped his tiny arms around her thumb. Oak was surprisingly intelligent, capable of comprehending what Lyra said to him, basically just missing the appearance of a human. Lyra grabbed the bag she had come with and took another book out, this time title ‘Muggle Mythology: Where It Came From’. She flipped to the first page. She had originally come here to read, so while waiting for Rose to answer, Lyra allowed herself to start reading, quickly becoming absorbed in the book.

When Lyra reached over to hug rose, Rose return the hug without hesitation."Of course," she said. Lyra then apologized, just in case Rose wasn't a hugger. "No, not at all! I don't mind hugging," she replied truthfully. When you grew up with four siblings in an extroverted family, you were pretty much assumed to be a hugger. You were even expected to be a hugger sometimes. Rose honestly didn't mind.
Rose laughed a little at Teresa's joke, but she really didnt want to stress Teresa out with a deadline. Though she would be annoyed if she didn't get the book in a month or two, she completely understood that some people just didn't read as fast as she did. Some people read faster. Some slower.
Lyra suggested timidly that maybe they could go into the Forbidden Forest. The forest was supposed to be really dangerous. Like, why would you have a dangerous forest around a school? And it was against the rules to go into the forest.
This is why Rose answered quickly, "I would love to do that!" her emerald eyes had a glint of mischief and excitement. She was completely sincere about her answer.
It's just part of growing up- a little adventure a little rebellion...

Lyra sighed in relief as Rose assured her that she didn't mind. She felt Oak tugging on her bag insistently and nodded. Reaching into a plastic pouch, she pulled out a few dried spiders and gave them to him, letting the Bowtruckle eat at his own pace. She closed the ziplock and tucked it inside her bigger bag, turning back to her friends.

The Ravenclaw laughed when Rose responded so enthusiastically. Yup, that's the Gryffindor in you." she joked. "Have you been there yet? There's a whole thestral herd and a bunch of other animals. I even saw a unicorn there once, drinking from a stream. Honestly, they were beautiful. I haven't been able to find them since but one glimpse was definitely enough." As Lyra said that, she put her hand in front of her mouth to cover a yawn, sheepishly shrugging to the other two girls, not wanting to appear rude or bored, since she was neither at the moment. The first year had been having more than her fair share of nightmares lately and had usually fallen asleep in said forest, waking up at dawn to rejoin her roommates before everyone woke up. She had never gone there with someone else though, and to be quite honest she was really looking forward to it.

Laying down on the grass, Lyra pulled on the hood of her hoodie and opened her book, wriggling around before she found the ideal angle so that the sun's rays didn't hit her in the eye. She opened her book and started reading, occasionally closing her eyes before jolting awake and continuing her book.

When was Teresa exposed to another animal, spiders to be exact, she shivers and sticks her tongue out in disgust. She noticed and knew that they are clearly dead, so no harm would be done to her but the arachnophobia in the back of her mind was telling her otherwise, Teresa shivered for the last time before turning to Rose.

"Ah! I'm glad you agreed! Um... well when I kinda answered instead of you earlier, hehe-" Teresa laughs apologetically and rubs the back of her head.

"Oh! We are visiting our grandparents in Germany every summer holidays, maybe if I asked my mother, she'll let you go with us this time." Teresa smiled at Rose offering her a summer holiday trip.

Does Teresa then turn to Lyra with a statement? An answer? "As I said before, I was there with professor Price before he ended teaching for some ingredients for Potions class but we were just at the entrance of the Forest, professor Price didn't let us go farther." She shrugged.

Teresa's eyes shifted to the book Lyra had taken out, her eyes sparkled after she read the title. Teresa tried to read along with Lyra, she had read upside down a few times but after a few lines it got overwhelming and her head started to hurt, she blinked.
"I don't wanna sound rude, but I couldn't notice your other book! I love mythology too!"

"No, not at all!" Rose reasured Teresa.
As Lyra said that was the Gryffindor in her, Rose paused. "Yeah, you're right," she said a little softer than usual.
She then sharply inhaled. "I would love to go to Germany! I've never been... and I'm sure my mom would let me go. How long do you usually stay? A couple days, a week, a month?" her emerald eyes were super excited, shining with anticipation. Her mom would let her go, of course she would. Then Rose hesitated. "What about your family?" she inquired, "Do you think they would let me tag along?"
Rose searched her mind for any time she had been in or near the Forest. A thoughtful look on her face, she said in her soft, sweet, American voice, "I don't think I've ever been in or near the Forest. Well, the Forest here. Maybe that's part of why I want to go in so much. At my house back at home, there is a forest on one side of our house. It's full of all kinds of creatures, none super dangerous. There's a creek and a group of wild cats that live there," she blushed a little bit while she revealed her geekiness and said, "I've read these books about wild cats that belong to a 'clan' so I call them MoonClan and strange names from those books. Except, they really seem to like me. It's weird."

Lyra noticed Teresa's shiver when she took out the bag of spiders and immediately apologized. "Oh I'm so sorry I didn't know you were afraid of spiders. I'm uneasy around them as well but Oak has to be fed so" she shrugged. "But I'll remember to keep them out of sight for next time, sorry about that."

Hearing Rose and Teresa agreeing to go out, she smiled, her dimples showing. "That's awesome, thanks for agreeing to come with me." Both girls were talking about Teresa's family in Germany. Lyra wanted to inquire about it but was afraid of seeming rude, so she just nodded along, fingering the pages of her book. As she flipped to the next chapter, she came to the part about Nordic Mythology. The Ravenclaw's eyes lit up and she quickly marked the page. Reading while conversating could be accepted, but knowing herself, Lyra would probably zone out, which she was trying to avoid.

Luckily, Rose spoke up before that happened, talking about a clan of wildcats that she had dubbed 'MoonClan'. "That's a cool name. I've never seen them though, although I may have read about the in a Muggle book, probably some legends wizards had spread around. The Forbidden Forest here has a frightening side, which is pretty easy to avoid though." Teresa then expressed interest in her mythology book, which Lyra agreed with. "Yes, I'm pretty fascinated by that too. There's a section in the library on it, there are so many explanations to so many things."

"Of course," Rose added after Lyra expressed her thanks for their agreement to come. "I wouldn't miss it."
Rose was pretty relieved that Lyra had not laughed or teased her about her geekiness, which was just a part of who Rose was.
The conversation the shifted to Mythology. Rose thought Mythology was fascinating. How a longtime ago, people made up stories that explained things we have scientific evidence and research about now. They were genious, some of them. She loved to see how they developed from a few stories that explained stuff to a whole system. Take Greek Mythology, for example. They had a looooot of gods and goddesses and a whole history with different "ages" like the golden age and stuff. And there were so many different cultures that had Mythology like that, the Greeks, the Romans, the Norse, the Egyptians, the list goes on! Rose always liked to study people who thought differently than she did. "Mythology is really cool... Just how the people who believed in it developed it that much over time, how deep it goes to explain things that happen... It's pretty amazing." Rose expressed her thoughts. "What do you think your favorite mythology would be? I mean, like, Greek Mythology, Roman Mythology, so on and so on?" she asked the girls. "And what do you think your favorite story is in that?"

Lyra inwardly smiled as the conversation changed to Mythology. It was another one of her passions, heavily influenced by the hours she spent reading in the library. The stories of gods and goddesses were fascinating, especially when Lyra's family was so diverse in religion. Her dad's side was Muslim, while her mom's side of the family tree was mostly Christian, with Jewish relatives here and there. Personally, the Ravenclaw didn't choose to believe in one religion, instead interesting herself in the stories coming from them, Mythology included.

She rolled over in the grass, supporting her head with her sweater paws to face her friends, marking her book and placing it in the grass for now. Oak clambered onto it, laying down and spreading his tiny limbs across its surface, as if he was trying to sunbath, making the brunette chuckle quietly. "I'm a huge fan of Nordic mythology, and the potential existence of nine or so worlds." she said in response to Rose's question. "I read a book on it when I was younger and it was really entrancing, I loved the stories. I also loved the fact that it wasn't as heavily based on religion as other Mythologies I've come across. However, I also found stories of the Holy Grail interesting, and I know it isn't mythology but Indiana Jones made it seem very interesting." Lyra ended with a small smile, recalling the movies she watched on the weekends, most of them being old movies her parents had watched.

Amusement sparked in Rose's emerald eyes as Oak attempted to sunbathe on Lyra's closed book. The little bowtruckle really was super adorable and Rose really was glad he had accompanied Lyra to the lake.
Nordic Mythology. "I really don't know that much stuff about Nordic Mythology... there are nine realms, right? Asgard, Midgard... Yeah, those are the only ones I know." she laughed. "I started reading books about Norse Mythology by Rick Riordian but then got bored with it. Is Norse basically the same as Nordic?" she asked. She knew most Ravenclaws would know more than her about.... Well, pretty much everything, so she asked Lyra.
She noticed Teresa was oddly quiet, so she turned to the Hufflepuff, asking, "You good?" Teresa was your stereotypical Hufflepuff, usually very loud and rambunctious, so it concerned Rose that she had gotten pretty quiet. Like, silent. And the look on Rose's face revealed all of this.
Rose also decided, as she laid her hands behind her to prop her up in the grass, that she would pick up a book on bowtruckles later and maybe a book on Nordic Mythology. They were interesting subjects and it wouldn't hurt to read a non fiction book every once in a while.

Teresa softly nodded. "Yes, I'm sure! My mum is gonna be happy that I found some friends!" She answered and turned to Lyra. "Ah, I'm so sorry for being rude, I meant to ask you too! What do you say? Would you like to go with us? And we usually stay at my grandparents' two weeks and an hour of travel away from their house my aunt has a dragon farm!"

Teresa shook her head. "Ah, don't worry about that! My arachnophobia is triggering at the sight of any spiders so it's not your fault." She smiled assuringly.

"I don't really like any specific stories, I like just the gods and goddesses, especially the Greek gods and goddesses. Although Roman and Greek mythology is quite similar and that makes it more exciting!" Teresa smiles widely stating her opinion.

Teresa then became quiet enjoying her friends' company, she made herself comfortable in the grass and silently listened to Rose and Lyra talking about mythology. Teresa was quite lost in her thoughts, nodding lightly here and there to show she didn't suddenly die or something.
She was smiling warmly shifting her gaze from one girl to another as they exchange their opinions and thoughts.

Teresa was taken from her thinking trance when Rose's attention was now placed on her.
"Yes, yes." She nodded. "I caught myself thinking! I was enjoying the conversation you had, girls. I didn't want to interrupt anything." She smiled warmly.
