Dear Elisha,
You probably don't know me at all, but our parents apparently know each other well enough to think we should become acquainted too. I am Elodie van Aelst and I am the daughter of Matthijs Willem van Aels and Maeve Bell-van Aelst, and our parents are friends. I'm eleven and was born in Northern Ireland, although I live in the Netherlands now.
My dad suggested that I write to you, that it might be nice to have someone my own age to talk to. This is me making an effort so I hope you don't mind me writing to you. Please know that I am not used to this, writing to someone I've never met yet. This may look odd to you, especially when I don't know anything about you beyond your name and the fact that you attend Hogwarts. Suppose that's what makes this interesting too, don't you agree?
I'm currently attending Beauxbatons but I have been curious about Hogwarts for a while now. I just thought it would be nice to know what another magical school is like than just what I've heard from my parents. What is Hogwarts like? Is it really as old as everyone says? Do you get lost in the castle? And what are the lessons like? I have too many questions already.
Anyway, I think this is enough about me for one letter. You can tell me about yourself too, if you want.

Hogwarts School of Magic
Good day to you Elodie,─────
I have confirmed with my parents about what you have wrote me in your letters, though you already know my name I find it very important to return your greeting.
I am Elisha, heir to the house of Pennyworth and daughter to Howard Pennyworth and Amelia Pennyworth. I am also eleven and was born in St. Mungo's. My parents also encouraged me to reply to your letters it seems they were ecstatic to hear that you have reached out to me.
For what is Hogwarts like...well, it was magical as they say. The black lake in which the giant squid named Horace and a tribe of merpeople lives in and the enchanted ceiling in the Great Hall was mesmerizing. You could feel the gentle but firm thrum of Hogwarts's magic. It feels ancient and powerful yet at the same time warm and gentle. It is truly a magical experience.
I have gotten lost a few times already and it is not because of my sense of direction.
Hogwarts's moving stairs doesn't make any sense. They don't have a pattern and only moves randomly I have no idea why the other students took a liking to it. I have heard from a senior that it was there to confuse any enemy that dared to infiltrate Hogwarts but if you think about it, someone strong and stealthy enough to bypass Hogwarts's magic wouldn't be deterred by some moving stairs.
The lessons are great though If I were to be honest some of the professors way of teachings bore me. Aside from that everything here is just like what my parents have told me. Though I wish to explore Hogwarts's mystery myself. I have also heard many great things about Beauxbatons and have many questions about the school as well. Is there really more witches than wizards there? Are they also veela's? What's some of the best place at your school?
As you can clearly see, I have also a ton of questions. It seems My letter has become too long already so I will be ending it here now.

Hi Elisha,
It was nice to hear from you!
Your description of Hogwarts makes me want to see it for myself. I’ve read about the enchanted ceiling before, how does it look like? It seems to me the moving staircases were terribly inconvenient. I agree with you about them not being very useful against an intruder. If they’re completely random, wouldn’t they inconvenience the students and professors just as much as whoever they’re supposed to stop? Unless they’re not really random and no one has figured out the pattern yet. Have you tried? If it’s me, I probably would just out of curiosity. You also said you want to explore Hogwarts’ mysteries yourself. What mysteries have you heard about so far? An ancient castle must have plenty of them. My father works with old magical artefacts and archives, I grew up hearing about mysterious places.
For Beauxbatons, I think you’re right, there are more witches here than wizards, but I’m not quite sure as I don’t really keep track although not everyone is part-Veela. I’m not either. The palace itself is beautiful, all I can say is that it’s very different from the way you described Hogwarts. I haven’t decided what my favourite place is yet because I haven’t seen enough of it to make a fair decision. I like the gardens, that’s for sure. My mother’s an Apothecary and Herbologist, I grew up around plants and being surrounded by them feel like home to me.
This is also my first time attending an actual school. I’m still getting used to having this many people my own age around me every day. It’s definitely louder. You mentioned that some of your professors’ teachings bore you, which lessons do you like, then? We’ve only just started, so I really don’t have any opinion about some of mine. Also, don’t worry about your letters being too long. I don’t mind especially if you’re going to tell me more about Hogwarts.
