OOC: Hi! Sorry this was late
Humming a soft tune, Elisha skipped happily towards the Magical Menagerie, hands held firmly by her father. It was the day her father had promised her to spend time with her buying a pet. Elisha grins uncontrollably and drags her father faster towards the door. Their house elf, Beanie just right behind them. Her father chuckles at her and tells her that the shop wouldn't be going anywhere.
"It won't, but the pet that I want might be!" She huffs cutely.
Her father shakes his head in amusement, and walks a step ahead of her to hold the door open. Entering the shops, Elisha swivels her head around to look at the different creatures. She didn't have a specific creature she wanted yet but seeing the enchanted cages, aquariums, and terrariums stacked in careful disarray excites her so much.
She steps closer to one of the cages where a brown colored barn owl rests to another one where a ferret sleeps. Maybe she could have two. Creatures that would coexist with each other. She looks back up to her father only to see him having a hushed conversation with another man. Her father meets her eye and ends their conversation. Elisha clutches her hand behind her back.
'Again. It's always like this...' She thought bitterly as a small frown appears on her face. Her father gently pats her and regretfully tells her that he has to go back to work. Elisha slowly nods as he gave her a pouch of galleons and instruct their house elf to take care and protect her.
Elisha watches as her father leaves the door to meet the man he had a conversation and stood silently still in her position. She takes a deep breath and straightened her back, putting every elegance she could master on her actions. Unlike her previous self a while ago. She looked at each enclosure with little interest, Beanie following behind.
Suddenly she noticed a boy with black hair and round glasses loitering around the more exotic creatures on the shop. She slightly tilts her head after overhearing what he had said.
"If your not knowledgeable on that type of creature then you shouldn't approach it. It's foolish to die because of one's arrogance."
Fun fact about it is...
Owls.
Aaron wanted an owl as a pet for Hogwarts. They weren't going to stay with him the entire time, don't make a lot of mess during the night, when they can be let free to hunt the night skies. And the best part? They can be used for delivering mail and packages to friends and family.
For some reason, their family never owned an owl themselves. It would have looked weird in a Muggle-like neighborhood, but that's what it was. Aaron wanted one when he learnt he was finally going to Hogwarts. This way he could easily communicate with his family back home and stay in touch with them without relying on the school owls, not that he disliked them, he didn't trust the privacy in them for some reason.
He entered the Magical Menagerie with his mother, Megan, and began to take a look at the owls they had available.
There was the Indian Eagle, Great Horned, Snowy, Morepork, Tarny, Arctic, Barred, Eastern Screech, and the Great White Owls on sale. Each ranged from about 11-16 galleons, not very expensive, but not cheap either. He had been saving up for this moment, and the Marauders Map, but that one was a secret his parents didn't know about.
As Aaron was browsing the owls, he looked at his mom and saidJust as he heard someone telling him that he was wrong."Did you know, it is impossible for a person to be avoid being tracked by an owl. That's why they are they best forms of communication wizards use for communication over letters. No one knows why this is so, but it is."
"Oh, then please tell me how can one prevent to be contacted via an owl."
