It's A Shutdown (Or Is It?)

Veda was shutting down. Again. As her somewhat-halfway-friend kept talking next to her, she nodded along on autopilot. It was quite often now that this person made either snarky comments about random people in the hall, or just downright rude to students they didn’t know. That wasn’t Veda’s style, and it never was. However, Veda didn’t want to lose yet another friend, so she simply went silent and shy whenever they were being mean.
The friend checked their watch and excused themselves, and Veda murmured a quick ”Bye!”
with all the happiness she could muster up. As soon as they left Veda slumped against the wall, barely holding onto her books in her arms. She closed her eyes, and sighed. ”Why do I put myself through this,” she thought to herself. When she finally opened her eyes, she was well aware the color had changed.
As Veda got older, her metamorphmagus condition had worsened. Well, everyone kept telling her it's an ability, not a sickness, Veda wasn’t so sure she agreed. So far, it came with more downsides than upsides, Exhibit A was this moment. Her normally brown eyes had turned a decently vibrant shade of blue-grey, which either meant bored or in her case, tired. Tired of not having the courage to stand up for herself or others, and tired of her friend picking on others behind their back.
Last year, her eyes might have had a tint of grey, most likely barely noticeable, but now she was pretty sure anyone who knew her normal eye color could tell she was upset. And low and behold, someone saw.

Thoughts
Hana was walking down the busy hallway from her Charms class, clutching her books to her chest, making sure she won't drop it because she knows once you drop something in a hallway at this time, that thing will be vanished in the sea of people. "Excuse me."Hana said to one of the students who was blocking her way, but the student seemed like they didn't hear her, so Hana looked up and around trying to locate the nearest possible exit for herself. As she did that, her eyes automatically locked to a single girl, someone in her grade, and someone she pretty sure she had in some of her classes. Hana doesn't know why she stood out to her because to be fair, no one can stand out in a crowd of people wearing the similar black school robes, she couldn't even find her friend once, but Hana looked, really looked at the girl. "Huh" she mumbled, Hana swear something's wrong, something's unusual - her eyes.
Hana momentarily froze at her spot, even though she probably knew people were trying to ask her to go away and not to block the path. She tried to remember the times they had classes together. Her eyes, I swear they are not this colour, I swear there is not a single person with blue-grey eyes in my class, if there is one, I would've notice, I always wanted those eyes. But she looks familiar, she's in my class, right? Oh, what if. Just maybe what if, she's a Metamorphmagus, oh, that will be so cool. Wait, but no, her eyes change because she's feeling stuff, and she looks tired, a bit. you know what, I'll go and see if she's okay
Getting pushed by some random students behind her, Hana glared at them but slowly made her way towards the girl. "So, hi. I'm Hana, and I think we've been in some classes together. Um.. your eyes, they look a bit different than normal? Not that I pay attention to randos, I'm not that creepy. I just swear I never saw a girl with blue grey eyes in my class." Hana chuckled awkwardly, already regretting what she said that made her seem so awkward and weird.

Veda looked up from the ground, the soft voice of her classmate making her lose her intense focus on her shoes. Veda had seen the girl around, especially when she mustered up the ability to go to a quidditch match. “Hana, I think her name is?” Veda thought, but she was too scared to guess without being 100% sure.
What really surprised Veda was that the girl knew that blue was not her normal eye color. I mean, she never talked to her before, and while Veda had seen her around, she had highly doubted the other girl even noticed her.
“I uh.” Veda cleared her throat, trying to sound like she wasn’t about to cry. “Yeah, my eyes are brown normally.” she said. An awkward silence fell, then Veda almost slapped her forehead. “Yeah, and why would they be? She might not know what a metamorphmagus is!” Veda grimaced at herself.
"I-I’m actually a metamorphmagus. That means I can change my physical features. Well, eventually. Right now it is kinda emotion controlled? Red is angry, blue is sad, and so on,” Veda rambled, not even considering this girl might know what a metamorphmagus is. She swallowed, realizing how much she was talking. With luck, Hana might say something nice and stiffly walk away, though, like always, Veda braced herself for the worst (being made fun of). Already being insecure was bad, but having that on top of having a trait that she never wanted or asked for didn’t help in the slightest.

Thoughts
Hana stood there, listening to the girl talk about her eyes. But another small detail caught her attention, Hana quickly glanced up at the girl's slightly-glossy eyes and that voice which sounds like someone's about to cry. However, she knew it may sound a bit rude if she interrupt the conversation just to ask if the girl is about to cry, therefore, she didn't bring it up.
"Metamorphmagus?! That's so cool! Hana's eyes immediately sparkled with amusement. "You know what, I've only heard of them when I was reading books in the library but I've never met one in real life, You must be really lucky to have this ability. I really wish to have such a cool ability like yours. Hana stared at the girl for a second, daydreaming about if only one day she has the ability to change her appearance based on her emotion. That will be so cool, imagine having it, my brother will know when I'm annoyed and he probably won't annoy me more, but I doubt
Pulling herself back to reality, she nodded to the explanation the girl provided but frowned when the girl explained that blue means she's sad, Hana asked, " So, they change colours based on your emotions? And you said blue is sad, which your eyes are blue right now, are you feeling quite right, do you want to talk about it? I'm always here to listen, you know"
