Lost in the Pages
Ever since classes at Hogwarts started, Kevin had been treating them with the same attitude he had towards the ordinary muggle school he had previously attended. By not paying any attention, constantly being distracted while professors spoke, picking the furthest seat away from the board... But unlike before, many of the topics in these lessons were so complex that he could not just have a lucky guess at or pick a random answer and hope it worked! Not to mention, the concept of learning new spells sounded much cooler than getting a high grade in math or geography.

It was undeniable, he finally had to do the unthinkable and actually study for the first time in his life. He found himself entering the library with hesitation, already worrying about whether people would think of him as a nerd for being there.
Feeling defeated, he madde his way to an empty seat, causing the legs of the chair to rub against the floor and make a little squeak even though he tried to be quiet.
With a little sigh and an internal pep-talk, he put his textbook on the table and skimmed through the pages only to be met with immediate shock and disbelief that made his eyes widen. Why is there so much text about every single topic? There was no possible way that he could read it all.
When he raised his head from the book with a mix of desperation and defeat, his gaze happened met the brown eyes of another student, a girl who happened to be sitting nearby. Assuming she must have noticed his confusion and failure to study, he reacted without thinking. With a sheepish little grin on his face, he raised his book to show her the pages about some very basic charms. In an attempt to remain quiet in the library, he mouthed the words "Do you know what any of these are?" to the girl silently.
