Since Xinyue’s mother never used magic at home and tragically died when her daughter was too young to even properly remember her, the responsibility to protect the little girl fell onto the men of the Li/Hayes household. While they may be all muggles, the three of them are hardly defenseless. Xinyue’s stepfather is a respected class one Warrant Officer of the British army and his two sons are skilled policemen. With such family, it is no wonder Xinyue had to learn how to protect herself from an early age. Of course, despite her stepfather and stepbrothers trying to teach her how to fight, they understood that her young age and lack of physical strength brought a big disadvantage in an actual combat. Therefore, it was agreed that until she was able to stand her ground, the most important thing to teach the young girl was how to be vigilant and avoid danger. Richard Hayes had spent far too many years trying not to run but his sons were still young and mischievous. “You are to test her periodically but do not over do it. Always wait for when she least expects it.” He instructed the boys clearly, leaving no room for negotiation. Not that James and Nathan would ever even try to negotiate with their father. “And don’t look at me like that. You may want to show her mercy since she is your family but if she ever encounters someone who wants to hurt her, they won’t give her the same courtesy. It is your responsibility to teach her. If you do it halfheartedly, the failure will be yours.”

Although Nathan, despite being the younger one, was still a bit hesitant to terrorize his little sister in such way, James took the responsibility on with a poorly hidden enthusiasm. He would defend his family with his life but he also enjoyed riling his siblings up whenever he got the opportunity. Naturally, scaring his sister and trying to hone her instincts as a result was a perfect mission in his book. It started with jumping her at home and stealing Xinyue’s favorite things whenever she failed to avoid them. For someone so young, it was hard to understand what was happening so the beginnings were especially hard for her. She may have never admitted it but there was a period of time when she grew genuinely paranoid and had trouble sleeping. Even though her family meant well, they were not exactly experts when it came to little girls and their mentality...

Fortunately, as Xinyue grew a bit older, she came to understand what they were trying to do. When she was old enough and her brothers started bringing their “lessons” outside, she was more annoyed than scared. By the time Xinyue turned nine, she had learned to be hyperaware of her surroundings. Every sound, every movement…even if something simply felt out of place, she became extra vigilant and nimble enough to escape. At ten years old, she even started to retaliate. Naturally, she would never try any of that with her stepfather. Xinyue could be reckless at times but she was not stupid nor did she have a death wish. Still, while she could never even touch Richard during their sparing lessons, the man seemed pleased whenever she managed to avoid one of his lunges. “Good. Your brothers taught you well. Don’t stop holding onto those reflexes and keep perfecting them.” It was not the biggest compliment but by Richard Hayes’ standards, it was a statement worth celebrating and Xinyue would never forget his words. Kai had never been a sneaky person, not for any wrong purpose at least. Kai had loving parents and an annoying silly brother, but the school she studied in before third grade was not the most welcoming place since her first instance of magic, when strange stuff was happening around her. She was studying in a Muggle school in another island.

Since she was from a magical family and she didn't quite understand Muggle lifestyle until she grew a little older. She would be fascinated by common household Muggle items like phones, tablets, and even washing machines, leading to her getting picked on by Muggle kids. A few rumours had also started to spread in the school about her ever since kids started to notice that odd things were happening around her, likely because of her magic.
Being the center of attention became a nightmare for Kai, so she started to try to avoid getting noticed by anyone by simply avoiding people herself, slowly building a habit of sneaking away from people to do what she liked doing, or blending into the 'crowd' while among people. After the rumours had died down she was practically invisible.

This habit stuck with her even after moving to a magical school and making new friends. This time people thought she was weird because of her obsession with wanting to know how muggle objects worked. Although she had made close friends, they didn't share much interests other than drawing, reading or learning new things, and some of them didn't have those interests either. She felt out of place whenever she found herself talking to them about Muggle technology, so she'd find a quiet place or a place she couldn't be noticed by anyone to study about them, even though she might never be able to own most of them.

Sneaking around became her way of keeping her favorite hobbies from getting judged. Because she had gotten looks or teased in the past, she felt that keeping her curiosity about Muggle devices away from people was much safer and peaceful.

Kai had started to preffer being left alone since it gave her some quiet time and helped her organize her thoughts, without having to think about every word she said during a conversation and how awkward it might have sounded, because of which she developed a skill of noticing small things other people may miss. Because of this, she also developed a very good memory.
She also picked up a few more hobbies like flying and exploring and also a small interest in animals.

His upbringing was harsh. He was constantly picked on and treated like a pushover. The kids at his Muggle school thought he was a freak, with a freak mother. They were cruel, and unlike in any of the silly fairytale books, they always won. He used to be skinny, with barely any meat on his bones. Later on, he gained some weight and did home workouts with whatever he could find, trying to become stronger and stand his ground. But before all that, he was just another scrawny lad. That was when he learned to play dirty.

He’d got into quite a few fights at school. Not the kind one should be proud of, though. He seldom won any of them. He knew he shouldn’t give in or let the talkers win, but when the topic shifted to his mother he just couldn’t hold it in – he’d strike. He’d end up with a bloody nose, bruised knuckles and a day’s suspension from school. He was sick of losing.

What else was left for him but to take matters into his own hands? He was a smart kid. He had no problem fooling his opponents. He thought up tricks to beat them, to put more impact into his punches. He would lay a strip of metal over his knuckles, carry fistfuls of sand in his pockets, and look out for slippery surfaces in the alleyways behind school. Sometimes the dunderheads did not even suspect his cheating, not at all. Oh, the dumbstruck expressions on their faces when he stood over them on the pavement; it was all worth it. He did not feel guilty; he did not stop. Cheating in fights got rid of some of his bruises. They had time to heal, as he noticed fewer and fewer kids at school dared to swing a punch his way.

Over years of practice, it has become second nature to him – foul play. Cheating comes easily to him. But it is power in the right hands. He may be reckless, but he is not immature, and he uses it for the right purposes. Whether it is to get himself out of a sticky situation or to help someone weak and in need, he always has a couple of tricks up his sleeve. He has become harder to detect. He has mastered it completely.

At the end of the day, maybe there was no such thing as cheating in a street fight. They did not have any rules, after all. But he knew it gave him an unfair advantage. His tricks were not fair to his opponents. Yet he felt little pity for them, since they were the ones who picked on him, and the only way he could get back at them was to play dirty.

Quidditch, and therefore Flying were in Rascal's blood. Sometimes it felt literal as if they could literally close their eyes and concentrate hard enough they might actually take off. Rascal was pretty sure they were born on a broom, though they'd never asked their parents to confirm or deny.

So when they joined their fellow first years at their first Quidditch class at Hogwarts and told today they'd be covering the basics, Rascal actually snorted. "The basics?! Merlin's baldspot please tell me you're not gonna start by explaining what a broom is?"

Rascall looks at Professor Weems and at the students around and sighs. "Ok sure, maybe some of these lot need that. But you might as well shoot me to the advanced class Prof. I could fly a broom backwards with me eyes closed."

Not waiting for an invitation Rascal boldly approaches one of the practice brooms, extends out their hands and declares "Up!" As expected the broom flies upwards into their hand in an instant, eliciting some mumbling from the gathered students.

"I could fly a broom before I could walk. No point in me sitting around waiting for everyone else to figure out how to get the bloody thing to fly into their palm now is there?"

To Rascal's surprise Professor Weems actually permits them to do a test flight as an example for the other students, and the young Ragg can never resist an opportunity to show off. Mounting the broom Rascal soars upwards with ease. They take a few moments to get the feel of how the school broom handles before they set to work really putting it through its paces. Picking up speed, weaving and tumbling round the castle turrets, even slapping a gargoyle on their way past. School brooms weren't as fast as Rascal would like, but still they were using it at its absolute maximum.

When they finally come in for a stop some students are awed, others annoyed and some have moved to trying to bring their broom up themselves. "Howzat? Not bad right?" Rascal asks, slight exertion in their voice.

Weems seems contemplative for a few moments, but eventually they speak up. Asking Rascal to demonstrate broom-surfing for the class.

Rascal's composure falters for merely a moment before their confidence rallies. "Pfft, easy...could do that in my sleep." In truth it was a skill they still handn't mastered at home. Balancing on a stationary broom was tricky enough, doing it while it was moving was something even some Professional Players couldn't do.

Rascal slowly gets to their feet on the broom, finds the balance point between their feet and manages to stand with only slight unsteadiness. They swallow, look over their shoulder and try to get the broom moving. It does, but slowly, very slowly as if sensing the hesitation Rascal is trying not to show.

"Bit of a broom malfunction here, must be a faulty WHOA-!" Their excuse is cut off as the broom shoots out from under them, causing them to fall back onto their rear end to the giggles of their classmates. "Stupid broom..." Rascal mutters, face blazing red from embarrassment.

They turn to Professor Weems and sigh. "Yeah alright, maybe I don't know everything but...that was still pretty good, right?!"

For Bartholomew Lindenmomo moving from a home in Godrics Hollow to the loud and busy place of Hogwarts has been a big change. Honestly it was a test of how he handles new situations. As a musician he spends most of his time finding empty corners to get away from the constant noise of his housemates, who act completely crazy after eating too much sugar. When it came to getting a pet Bartholomew was not in a phase where he wanted to show off. He never wanted a creature to show off to students or to act like a normal person controlling an animal. He just wanted a friend who understood his need for peace, quiet and calm moments.

This connection started the day he went to the Magical Menagerie in Diagon Alley to buy school supplies. While all the first year kids were being very loud standing around screeching owls and croaking toads like it was a big event Bartholomew went away from the noise and found the most quiet part of the store. There he saw a spotted Egyptian Mau named Pearl sitting calmly playing with a yarn ball not affected by the chaos around her. Bartholomew naturally moved closer to the cage. Started singing a soft acoustic song. The moment she heard the sound Pearl dropped her toy made a noise and pressed her head against his fingers. When the shopkeeper opened the cage of running into the noisy shop like others she climbed onto his shoulder. That simple moment created a bond between them.

During his few weeks living at Hogwarts Bartholomew has slowly built on that bond by using his music and his ability to observe things carefully. He quickly found out that shouting at Pearl was not needed and would break their way of being together. Instead he treats her like a musical partner. Since he is so used to reading sheet music and tuning his guitar by ear Bartholomew watches Pearls body language closely. He knows what it means when she moves her tail in a certain way when she flattens her ears or when she changes the speed of her purring.

This special Beast Master bond is clear when they are trying to deal with the Gryffindor Common Room. Whenever the room is full of students making a lot of noise Bartholomew and Pearl work together to avoid the chaos. With a soft note Pearl knows to act as his scout. She uses her cat- moves to go through the crowd find the quietest chair and then come back to his side to guide him there. Because of the patience and musical understanding he puts into their relationship they know each other completely without saying a single word. She is not a pet; she is part of his senses and his best friend, in the castle.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Keen senses
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
(Additional information)(Race):Werewolf

Ace has always been a naturally curious and observant person, he was the type of child who noticed things other people missed. He would hear someone approaching before they reached the room, recognize familiar footsteps as if they were his own, and notice small changes in his surroundings without really thinking about it. At first, he simply assumed he was good at paying attention, that it was obvious, convincing himself that it was normal,"normal" was all he wanted to believe
As Ace grew older, his heightened senses became harder to ignore. His hearing became sharper, allowing him to pick up quiet conversations from farther away and distinguish individual sounds in crowded places,Hearing conversation that he had no business knowing. His sense of smell developed similarly. He began recognizing people by their scent and smelling things like rain, smoke, food, or unfamiliar animals before seeing them,it felt weird, throwing the trash felt like smelling every single thrown item in unnecessary detail.
Rather than relying on these abilities automatically, Ace learned to control them. His heightened senses could easily become overwhelming, especially when there were too many sounds or unfamiliar scents around him. He began practicing touching grass (slang), where he would deliberately focus on individual sounds instead of everything at once. He learned to identify birds by their calls, recognize different footsteps, and follow scents through familiar areas. These small exercises gradually made his senses easier to handle.
Now, Ace's senses are one of his most useful abilities. He can notice someone approaching before they enter a room, recognize familiar people by their footsteps or scent, and detect changes in his surroundings that others might overlook, making him good at investigating. He doesn't consider himself an expert, though. His senses are still something he is learning to control, particularly when he's overwhelmed, stressed and does want to think,
Ace's keen senses are not simply a benefit of being a werewolf. They are something he has learned to understand and manage through years of observation, practice, learn and experience, through trail and error His natural curiosity has made him especially attentive to the world around him letting him notice everything, while his werewolf nature has given him the ability to notice it in ways most people cannot,Keen senses are thing that have further advanced his skill and do more.

WHY IT FITS HIM
He curious,he like to try new things, cause of the way he is keen senses would be perfect he's brave and is patient and observing and doesn't give up easily and he's determined

The mention of her fair skin and captivating complexion always managed to get Jrue Peterson to blush. Whether it was her nanny, her father, or her various family members, the girl's looks had always certainly been working in her favor. She refused to admit what her grandparents would insist when they saw her, instead complaining that her nose was too small, or her eyes were too droopy. But the world around Jrue disagreed wholeheartedly.

Perhaps it had been the Dhampir part of her that caused her to be so lovely in appearance. The almost uncanny, ghost like look to her skin gave it a creamy look, accentuating her big doe eyes that swooped down in the corners, and her soft, delicate hair that fell down in waves. Sure, she did her best to primp and perfect herself, it was true. From her concocted hair oils and natural herbologist brewed tinctures, to the cheap dollar store nail polish, her vanity was covered in bottles and brews and little containers of Lippies. Someone could say it was ridiculous for a twelve year old to be so primped up and proper, but Jrue felt the need from her constant compliments, as if she had a duty to fulfill.

The girl never used her beauty to her advantage, however, simply accepting the favors and tasks others would carry out for her with a warm smile. When she was younger, her mother would sit her down and brush her hair for hours, loving nothing but the comfort of being with her. She wasn't just pretty, her kindness also spoke volumes to others. Grandmother's requesting help were simply drawn to Jrue's sweet face in supermarkets and grocery stores in her hometown. And Diagon Alley was a field day when she wanted to aid someone and receive a compliment or two. Her Grandmother had this pristine beauty too, on her mother's side. She must've inherited it from her, and the summers and Holidays that Jrue spent with her most certainly aided to her intentional care and attention to her self identity.

In fact, Jrue was almost certain that her first year at Hogwart's had been a display of this. In her flying class, within the first month of school, she had recalled a boy floating on his broom as told, suddenly plummeting down onto the grass below after his eyes had fallen onto her face. With her nature, she ran over to ask if he was alright, which only led to him stumbling over his words repeatedly like a bumbling buffoon.

Matilda was not a first-time pet owner when she'd gotten Barf, but she had never had to train an animal herself, so this was an entirely new experience for her. When she'd gotten her home, her mother had shown her the finer points of training a dog. To her, it had seemed a natural place to start. They'd gone through the basics first: getting the dog to sit and stay on command, teaching him to keep pace and not run ahead by walking, and, most importantly for her mom, no jumping up onto the kitchen table. That last one had been a toughie, but they got there in the end.

Throughout the entire process, Matilda's mother had been careful to make sure that Matilda was the one training Barf, and her mother was merely helping. To Matilda, Barf was her pet, a companion to be loved, cherished, and cared for, but for her parents, it was the first test of whether or not she could handle the responsibility of having a living thing dependent on you for survival. Matilda was confident she could handle the responsibility and had taken to her role as cruppy mommy quickly, always making sure Barf had food and fresh water. Picking up his poop had been the biggest thing to get useful. God, was it smelly and disgusting; the first few times she'd had to stifle her gag reflex to keep from throwing up, but as she got used to it, it had gotten much easier.

She had taken great strides to ensure that Barf could behave himself around muggles, because she had read that they could be very aggressive towards them and wanted to ensure her family (and others) didn't get hurt.

Now, she was focusing on developing a deeper bond with Barf. She could tell that he was very intelligent and started training him in more advanced techniques. She had started with fetch but had quickly moved beyond that. She would play hide-and-seek with some of the neighbors, and she quickly had Barf walking around sniffing her friends out. From there, she'd moved on to more complex activities. She had started by putting Barf in the house and burying small trinkets in the garden. He had proven very adept and sniffing and rooting them out. Once at the castle, she'd even managed to use him to find a hidden passage that cut about three minutes off her commute to Defense Against the Dark Arts. He was both cute and useful. Not unlike herself.

Solène has always been obsessed with practicing magic before she was even capable of doing it. With her parents, Benoit and Océane, being proficient enough to work with the Ministry and Aurors, it was no surprise that Solène bothered them in their rare free time to help her practice, with sticks, of course. In fact, anytime she saw anyone cast a spell with their wand around her, she would immediately attempt to replicate the motion with her hand. Much to the governess’ dismay, she would often be caught shirking her standard education to practice wand movements.

Solène was so intent on ensuring she could do everything perfectly that this behavior did not remain within the home. While she would not do it at times that would bring humiliation to her family, she was known for trying to bogart her uncle at family events or anytime she saw him, much to the chagrin of her younger sister, who also adored him. This would become harder for her to do once he became a professor, but not impossible. This made it easier for her to go through the books in her father’s study and practice more advanced wand movements with her hand. She felt the benefits far outweighed the consequences when she was inevitably caught by either one of the paternal figures in her life or a governess.

After her mother’s passing, she stopped asking her father as much to help, as he tended to bury himself in his work. Just as Solène was starting to lose passion for everything, her governess, Astrid, stepped in and helped young Solène embrace her passion (obsession) for knowledge and perfection. Astrid scheduled time in their daily lessons to perform spells for Solène that she would be performing in her first year of school. Then she would watch as Solène tried to copy the movements, gently correcting her when her movements were too wild or a flick too pointed. It was the only thing that got her through her mother’s passing and a direct target for her sister’s pranks & teasing.

Because her sister, Lunette, was so keen on trying to mess up her practices, Solène took it as a challenge. Magic was not about doing things turn by turn; it wasn’t a game. She knew that there would be many times when magic would need to be performed under pressure, hopefully not at school but certainly in real life. So, despite her sister’s intrusions, she found herself slowly getting better. Maintaining steady, accurate, and practiced wand movements while dodging paper balls, running through the halls, and finding contrived booby traps around their home only served to make her better, faster, and all the more capable.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Restricted Transfiguration (as Adult I ability instead of stats increase)
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

Being a Prodigal Student in the field of Transfiguration almost from her first year, it only made sense that her skills must go further than the regular Hogwarts curriculum. Despite being the most dangerous field of all, she went for it, because all great wizards and witches were masters of Transfiguration. It basically meant that you can do almost anything. Not mentioning that certain Transfiguration spells are the most fearsome she heard about.

Back at the school, she had access to Restricted Section, as she was also Prodigal in the field of Charms. So studying Transfiguration spells was just a matter of time for her. There were a few places — book stores — which had just the literature she needed in her free time.

So, the advanced books on what the advanced transfiguration operated on — it was not just mere concentration, it was like using up your energy if you were not careful enough. At least while you study it.

The spells seemed so complex — way more complex than anything she learnt before that. The Bone Removal Spell… Insect Hex… Skull Mutation… Who in their right mind came up with these spells in the first place?! And then… They’ve learnt quite a few “Human to” spells in their curriculum, but this?! Human to Bone. The difference between what they learnt was that this time the first part of the spell had to be dead.

It took her all her courage and determination to finish the basics of the Advanced Transfiguration, and survive through all those immensely difficult spells description. Especially, with all those means to use them. But it was her field, she felt very confident in the area of Transfiguration. She did not miss a single Transfiguration Today publications for 7 years since she was advised to subscribe to it in her first year. If she was not meant to endure this and master, then who else would?

And then there were moral choices. The Urchin Hex — what kind of enemy one should have to cast this upon? Some described effects meant a decent person would not try this on any other living being ever. Unless one is completely evil. Honestly, some spells just must have never been invented in the first place.

From one session to another, day after day, she concluded that the knowledge she was gaining was a huge responsibility. Some effects might be irreversible, so paired with her non-verbal and wandless skills, it required more concentration than usual, or anger management — not to cast something accidentally while being cross with someone.
