First Instance of Magic: Locket was born in Newport, Wales to muggle parents. She grew up with an older sister too, who she always looked up to very much. Her sister did not have any magical powers however and did not attend Hogwarts.
The Tarot family weren't exceptionally wealthy, but both of their girls did go to private school, and both were very capable. Locket is obviously very interested in science, and her older sister Clara also excels at it. They were both top of their class, and at home were very encouraged to learn extra.
Apart from that Locket also had her fair share of after school activities. She volunteered at a local observatory, where she learned a lot about what interested her. She and her best friends back in Newport also made their own magazine, and released it as often as they could. It was a small thing, only a couple of issues for each of them, but they liked it very much. Needless to say, Locket enjoyed a variety of things, and always said yes to new opportunities.
Most of her summers were spent in her grandparent's village in the countryside, and those were the best times of her life. She would go to the woods, where she and her sister built a makeshift house from branches and played house in. Or the fact that her grandmother was an absolute cat lady and owned about a dozen. The cats loved Locket and she loved them. She could cuddle and play with them for hours on end. Her grandparents also lived near the sea, and she loved going there to play in the sand, or splash in the water. Going back to the city would always be a huge bummer.
Still, the thing about Locket is that she could find home and family anywhere and everywhere she went. She had a special talent to make a place feel warm, no matter what it was.
The morning that her Hogwarts letter came, she couldn't quite believe it and thought it was her sister who was playing a prank on her. But then a teacher from the school showed up and confirmed that she was in fact accepted into Hogwarts. She became very excited, and couldn't wait to attend the mysterious school of magic. But she also thought that she would miss her friends and life in Newport very much, since it was nice living there.

Locket's first instance of magic happened when she was nine years old. She came back home after an exhausting day at school. She was so tired from all the work that she had that day at school, that she didn't even want to glance at her backpack. But her mother told her to get to homework right now, and then later she could relax. Not wanting Locket dreadfully sat at her desk in her room. But suddenly, just as she wanted to take out her notebooks, the desk shrunk and shrunk in size, eventually becoming miniature! Her books dropped to the floor as she started screaming in shock for her parents to come to her room. They both rushed in and were just as stunned as her to find that the girl's desk was missing - or more particularly, a miniature, equivalent to the size of doll furniture. Her parents agreed to let her have a free evening and she wondered off to the living room.
But later that evening, when she came back to her room to get ready for sleep, to her surprise she found that her desk was back to its normal size, in the very same place it had been before. She was as confused as ever! How could it be?...

Character Backstory: Before Hogwarts, Saanvika used to be the topper in class. She was born and lived in India for six years, until her dad got a job offer in Scotland, and they moved there. Settling there was hard, but Saanvika got used to it. Her family is really supportive but is strict when it comes to studying. She is often found in the library or in the art room. She also wishes to have a fresh start here at Hogwarts as some of her muggle friends have betrayed her, and she is officially a laughingstock at school. She is in a middle-class family, and loves annoying her older brother, who is about to go to muggle college. Her family pushes her to practice math often, which Saanvika hates for her life. Saanvika has a horrible fear of failure and she is claustrophobic. She loves muggle music, which is one thing she is reluctant to leave at home. Saanvika is addicted to romance novels and watching low-quality TV shows. She also enjoys realism sketching and coloring. Saanvika never learned how to write and read her mother tongue, Telugu, but she hopes to learn it once she is back for her summer and winter holidays. Saanvika says all the insults in her mind but all the nodding and obeying on the outside. She is scared to show her true feelings, as people might joke and control her more.
First Instance of Magic: Saanvika's first incident of magic happened when she was 9 years old. She was on the balcony, practicing her new dance routine, as she was performing for her school's Spring Concert. She got really angry as she couldn't get one singular step. She stomped her feet in frustration, when the wind caught her and gently dropped her on the roof.

First Instance of Magic:On the rainy afternoon of May 12th 2015 Desera Atwood gave birth to her second daughter. She named the child Taryn, with the reluctant agreement of her husband who, as a hellenistic polytheist, had wanted to give the girl a name derived from that of a Greek goddess.
Taryn was raised in England until the age of six, when the family’s joyful little life got disrupted by a hag, who moved in not far from their home. With her prejudice against hags, Taryn’s mother immediately feared for the safety of her children. She wouldn’t wait around to see if something bad would happen. She wanted to leave at once.
Her husband had friends on the Isle of Mull, who informed the couple that there was a house for sale in a wix village, located 5,9 miles to the east of Tiroran.
This is how Taryn came to live in Scotland.
Their new house, the one they still inhabit today, is nice and spacious, with a big garden all around. Over the years, Taryn has spent a lot of time here. Often together with her parents, who taught her all about different plants and their properties. In front of the house stand her mother’s flowers. A gorgeous, lush mass of corn marigolds, cornflowers, chamomile, and whatnot. To the left of the house is the kitchen garden of her father with both magical and non-magical plants. This includes things like potatoes, parsley, and peppers, which one could find in any muggle garden, but also bubotubers, and a couple of mandrakes in pots.
Taryn’s sister is about two years older than her, but does not attend Hogwarts. She tried to when she was eleven, but due to separation anxiety she returned home after two months. This worried her father, who did not think it would be a good idea to homeschool a child her age. His wife thought differently. She never attended Hogwarts herself because of her father’s strong opinions on the education system, and she believed they would be able to make homeschooling work, with proper tutors and a good amount of social opportunities.

Taryn was four years old when her magic first showed.
It was a cold winter day and she and her sister Penny figured they’d better stay inside, as they didn’t want their noses to freeze off. Instead they went to play hide-and-seek throughout the entire house. Taryn rushed into the bedroom of her parents, while her sister started counting, at a pace just slightly faster than what they had agreed upon. Taryn’s gaze slid over the furniture in the room and landed on the wardrobe. She sprinted around the bed and yanked the doors open.
Her eyes gleamed as she assessed the dark space. It was perfect. If she made herself very small and curled up in the corner behind her father’s dress robes, Penny would never be able to find her. She stepped into the wardrobe and closed the doors behind her just as she heard her sister yell: “TWENTY!”, from their bedroom down the hall.
From her dark little corner, Taryn could hear Penny enter the room and move around. She placed her hand over her mouth and suppressed a giggle. Her sister opened the doors of the wardrobe but did not notice little Taryn behind the dressrobes. She went to close the doors again, until a bright, golden light emerged from where the little girl was hiding. Penny pushed aside the dressrobes and found her little sister, her skin glowing with magic, looking up at her with wide eyes, surprised she had been found so quickly.

Mia was born on a sunny day in April to Rosaline Xu (neé Li) and Maximus Xu. I was the only child and heir to the noble family of the Xu’s - an ancient family that originated from the Zhang dynasty in China. It had been decades, perhaps centuries since one of her ancestors decided to immigrate to England. Since she was a pureblood, her family’s manor had always been filled to the brim with magic round every corner. There were also an awful lot of house elves. Unlike many other pureblood families, the Xu’s actually treated them well. Not exactly like humans, they were still treated as servants but they were not required to punish themselves if they made a mistake, abused in any way, verbally or physically, so they were obviously very loyal and all too happy to do the bidding of her or her parents. Despite this, she was still taught to take good care of herself and learn how to do certain things around the house. This sometimes caused strange sights and sounds. Because of this, her house always had protective, shielding and disguising wards around the manor and grounds as well as the fact that is was unplottable. Mia was educated well by a tutor her father had employed since she was three years old. She was fluent in English(obviously), French and Latin; the main three languages taught by aristocratic pureblood families by the age of seven and was highly educated in her family history, mathematics and social etiquette as well as basic herbology to recognise poisonous plants and a little astronomy. There were not many families that lived near a place where so many muggles resided so she never had any magical friends growing up. She had a few muggle friends but always had to keep making excuses as to why they couldn’t come to her house. She wasn’t allowed to play with them regularly should her magic be revealed to any of them. When she did eventually get her letter from Hogwarts in late July, Mia was not particularly surprised. She had, in fact, been expecting this day for a few weeks now. Her mother had told her the letter would be coming in sometime in July so she had been agitated for weeks while trying to appear unbothered on the outside. Because Mia didn’t socialise often, she was naturally shy and secluded with my life so whenever someone tried to talk to her on the Hogwarts Express, she would just stare at them for a while and go back whatever she had been doing, be it reading, drawing or simply staring out the window thinking. Same went for when she got to school, no conversing, no interaction, perhaps a request for classroom directions here or there, no more.

Born as the only child of a short-lived marriage between his wizard father and muggle mother, Kevin spent most of his childhood travelling back and forth between two worlds.
Whenever he would ask his parents about why they had a divorce, he always received the same, practised, formal sounding responses.
"Sometimes couples decide to go on their separate ways."
"Not every relationship lasts forever, and that's okay."
Both of his parents could be considered white-collar and middle-class in their own ways. His mother works as an editor for a magazine, while his father works in the accounting department of a company that sells wizarding knick-knacks, though Kevin never felt interested enough in either one of their jobs to learn more in detail.
Before Hogwarts, he spendt most of each year with his mother, attending public school with non-magical children. That's where he felt the most at home, getting to have friends who share his passion for things like music, skateboarding and causing mischief.
During summer breaks and holidays, he would stay with his father, where the lack of muggle technology leaves him bored and annoyed. Every now and then he would try to convince his father to teach him spells and let him use his wand, though each of his attempts got denied and gained him long, boring speeches about underage usage of magic and being more responsible.
For the last few years, Kevin has been very passionate about his music taste, which mostly consists of emo and pop-punk with headache-inducing melodies and soul-draining lyrics. He was also gifted a guitar by his parents after asking for it tirelessly, which quickly became his most beloved posession. Though his self-taught skills of the instrument could be considered "an attempt" at best and "noise pollution" at worst, but he would argue that being noisy is the first step of having fun.

Around the age of eight, Kevin had the habit of pestering his mother about how much he wanted a guitar. After hearing the same "you have to wait until Christmas!" excuse too many times, he ended up having a little angry tantrum and unconsciously made all the lights in the house flicker a couple of times, causing both him and his mother to get spooked for a moment.

Character Backstory: Willow was an angry child. She was born with the hatred of the world. Perhaps this was because of her family. Being stuck with six older siblings and only one older sister, she wasn’t very happy. And after all her family hates her too. No matter how hard they try, her mother really, they could never seem in control of her. Especially when shes home. At school, she could be described as smart, quick thinking, clever, sharp, and ill-tempered. She was very fast to react and to be angry. She hated being embarrassed especially if she's wrong. Fights have been a constant thing with her. Fights with her parents, siblings, or peers her age and older. At home, her father ignores her, with her sister too. No matter how hard she has tried she has never been anything to him but a girl. Sports she could excel at, including any combat sports, but always with her father its been "Thats good, for a girl." She hated it. She grew to despise her father while at the same time yearning for his attention. Perhaps if once, just once if he tore his attention form his sons and gave at least a little to his younger, maybe none of this might've happened. But of course, you can't lay all the blame down onto one parent. If she despised her father, she hated her mother beyond words.
Her mother as a role model was terrible. In Willows eyes, a rock would've mothered her better than her own mother. Her mother rarely talked to willow other than to lecture her about the way she is. The only thing she has learned from this witch was that love isn't real. Her mother sits there quietly as she takes the blows from her fathers anger. No matter how much he would hurt her, she sat there quietly and took it all. But as Willow, grew and grew to hate her, her mother also hated her for a reason.
First Instance of Magic: The name, Devil's Child originated from her mother. After all she was the first to witness Willow's incidental magic. Around the age of 3 she was being dropped off at daycare. Now, she despised daycare. Daycare was torture for her. The children there constantly screamed yelled pushed and pulled. Even at three Willow disliked it and would rather spend her time alone by herself. On the way there, she declared that she didn't want to go. Her mother ignored this statement. Irritated by this, she said it louder. Her mother continued to ignore her. Hurt and offended by this, the young three year old, silently cried. Once they got there, her mother took her out of the car. A few feet from the door, Willow abruptly stopped. "Mamma I don't wanna go!" She shouted. Her mother, looked around quite embarrassed before putting on a display for everyone else to see. Bending down she mad it look like she was consoling her daughter. In reality her mothers tone was filled with hate as she fiercely whispered to her. "You WIll go." SHe attempted to keep walking with her, until Willow yanked her hand out of hers. "IM NOT GOING!" She screamed. Suddenly, the doors slammed shut, shattering the windows. Screams filled the area as people raced to avoid the rain of glass. Willow stood there calmly, slightly shaken from what she did. Her mothers faced was filled with hatred and fear, as she scooped up her daughter and threw her into the backseat. "You spawn of Satan! Devils Child!" And those were the last words her ma spoken to her that day.

Jacqueline Royale has been that quiet, introverted girl her entire life. She is calm, somewhat stubborn and ambitious and her calmness has always been a noticeable feautre of hers. Since she was a little kid, unlike many others, sh was never interested in playing with dolls and makeup, she never imagined herslef a princess and she never was scared of what was too unsettling for others. Wheter it be snakes, scorpions. spiders or any other bugs she had always been drawn to them and always found comfort in their presence and company. And it has always been her unique trait to treat these creatures wuth kindness, rather than the cruelty and hatred that they are mainly faced with. And they have always been friends to her, and never enemies or something to avoid.
Let's go back to the begginig of this ability that she possess. When she was a little child, she loved nature and animals, what she hated most were zoos, because to her, that meant caging and chaining animals that should be out there in Mother Nature, thriving and living like they are meant to and on a few occasions, where she found herself at the zoo, gazing at the caged snakes, she would feel the utmost sadness seeing them being kept like property and it broke her heart knowing that they had no freedom. All that she understood when she was just a kid, even too young to comprehend much. Around the same time, which would be around 5-6 years old, she once went to her grandparent's private property in Southern California, which was surrounded mostly by nature. She was taking a walk there with her mother, Elizabeth, when she spotted a harmless Gopher Snake (which she then didn't know, and was later told by her grandfather and thus it developed and interest in studying about snake types as a hobby and therefore expanding her knowledge about these exotic and brilliant beings mentioned so many times as 'evil' or 'bad' creatures in the Holy Books of Abrahamic religions and mostly seen as a bad omen). Jacqueline didn't think of running or panicking about it, even when her mother stood in between the snake and her daughter all she said was "It's okay, mommy. I like snakes''. It lead to many other encounters like this. Over time she learned about snakes, how to treat them and what to do in each type's case. Only later it got obvious why she was so comofrtable with the idea of snakes, when at the age of 8 her mother, Ramona, witnessed Jacqueline communicating a snake, which she had begged her parents to get a few days ago. like many beg to get a puppy or a cat. Jacqueline had been sitting in her room with the still small Lampropeltis californiae on her bed, right opposite her. The sounds and the gibberish Jacqueline had been hissing were now an explanation to why she loved snakes so much.(and all that time, no one had noticed that she had been talking to snakes the whole time). It had been an ability of her for a long-long time and she had now only realised that she hadn't been speaking English the whole time, but in antother language that she hadn't even learn, instead it was hers from the very moment she was born. As to her mothers' question why she hadn't spoken about this, the still naive 8 year old answered that she had thought it was normal for wizards and witches to be able to do that.

Jacqueline's first instance of magic was around the age of 4 and both her mothers got to witness it. She was playing with her toys and suddenly broke her favorite one and started crying and screaming out of anger and the books flew out of the bookshelf nearby. This , according to her parents, was the first time she did magic.

I have looked over your application but since you are applying for the Parselmouth talent you also need to include the application for that which requires you to write 500 words.

Character Backstory:
ReducioThe 21st of September, 2014, was a perfectly good day. The family that Armand would be born to, that fateful 9:21 pm, was perfectly good as well, or like all humans, tried to be.
The mother was Madeleine Siebert, youngest cousin on the father’s side to the now well known lawyer, intellectual, and extraordinaire, Emery Albrecht. She was a sprightly young pureblood of 28 years of age and forty weeks, three days pregnant. Soon afterwards, she would return back to her position as editor in chief of a French Editorial called, “L’Egalite.”
The father was Louis D’Eparvier, famous pureblood duellist, and director of a theatre troupe, successful enough to support a family. He was also whimsical and curious and from whom Armand received her personality from. The troupe was called, “L’autorité d’expérience.” The male name Armand was chosen for her by her father. When she asked why, at a precocious five years of age, her father would explain that his first love was a young boy named Armand who had died in a terrible duelling accident, where due to a miscast Knee Reversal Hex, hitting his torso, not his knee. Due to his stupidity and young age, no one knew this duel was happening, leading to no mediwizard treatment.
Armand grew up on four languages, two from each parent, German, French, English, Italian.
Her tutoring was from Emery himself, who had just returned overseas from his position in the German ministry of magic.
Though in constant engagement with other pureblood children, she found himself more drawn to conversation with Emery, who let her affectionately call him, “Emile” or “Albie.”
Her favourite subject was history and she found herself drawn to Merlin and the founders of Hogwarts, but also the ones who were the villains, those who made morally wrong choices, those who had led history down the path of the present.
Perhaps it was because she found it easier to lie than tell the truth at times.
First Instance of Magic:
ReducioHer most distinct memory was of cruelty and ignorance at nine years old. She had visited a neighbourhood park in London with Emery and his husband, along with her cousin. A stranger scowled at her uncles, demanding attention by throwing a bottle at their held hands. Her uncle had stepped in front of everyone in a protective stance and asked, “Please, not in front of the children.” The adults blocked her and her cousin’s ears but she heard one last thing from the stranger, “You have no right to say that to me, when you’re…”
She decided then and there that adults were concrete robots unaware of the pain they cause and unaware of anything beautiful.
That day was a normal Wednesday, but it was a Wednesday that changed the rest of her life. Cruelty awoke her to the real world. However, perhaps the adults were right, because that future vision they saw of a meticulous businesswoman, metaphorically, that light, burned brighter.
In her emotional declaration of the robotic impotence of human adults, her emotions rose, and though she did not enact it, the very same bottle that disrupted the perfectly good day, shattered upon the mean stranger’s head. This was the day that changed everything. Though magic was familiar to her, this was proof her passion was beneficial.
Of course, adults instead then discussed the logistics of moving house to England for Hogwarts or to a Slavic country for Durmstrang. Armand believed they should have discussed instead the merit of heroism and sacrifice instead.

She has her father's black hair and his love for mischief, but she has her mother's love for reading and helping others in need. The first time she ever used magic was when her father put her favorite doll on the top shelf. She remembers looking at it and flying to her. She hasn't really decided what house she wants to be in, Hufflepuff like her mother or Slytherin like her father. She can always be found doing one of two things, reading or writing. When she gets older, she hopes to become a teacher (which might change). She can't wait to get lost in the Hogwarts library with all the new books and make new friends with her dorm mates. Getting to learn from the great teachers and eating in the Great Hall. But the one thing she is really hoping for is that Hogwarts is not as rainy and cold as Wales. Her favorite animals are cats, but she hates spiders. Her favorite color is green, and her go-to food is chocolate chip muffins. She is an only child. She is also a big water drinker, but she does love tea (and sometimes coffee) and loves listening to music.

BACKSTORY
Gregory is a 4'7" boy with shaggy dirty blonde hair and sea blue eyes. He has olive skin and features three beauty marks on his face: one under his left eye, one on his chin, and one on his right cheek. He is a kind and gentle boy who always treats people with respect. He is outgoing and an extrovert, and not afraid to speak out when something is wrong. He usually spends his time reading or creating something whether it be art or stories. He is intelligent and cunning, he despises chaos and loves organization. He does not do anything without making a plan of action and is rarely spontaneous unless the time calls for it. He was born into a Muggle family in London, England, his parents, Simon Writhebyrn and Laura Writhebyrn (nee Sheft) have always taken good care of him. He lives in a flat with his parents and maternal grandmother, Nancy Sheft. He attended a Muggle elementary school where he made a group of three friends, who he deeply cares about. His friends names were Jason, Jade, and Justin and they would always hang out on the weekends. Once he came to Hogwarts, he immediately settled into the new school life with ease. He was a bit shocked but overall happy to be sorted into Hufflepuff and is aspiring to make a circle of friends like the ones he had back in the Muggle world.
FIRST INSTANCE OF MAGIC
Gregory's First Instance of Magic happened when he was 5 years old, he was sitting in his flat's kitchen where his mother put a kettle on the stove but didn't put the range on, and after Gregory asked for a chocolate, "Mummy, may I have a chocolate?" and she denied it, "No Gregory, you'll spoil your dinner," the kettle began to boil on its own.
