Character Backstory:

The Ragg family have been playing Quidditch practically since they first came about. One of Rascal's ancestors was a founding member of the Martlesham Maulers. Another invented the 'Ragg Razor' a Quidditch move that involves surging up quickly from beneath your opponent to steal the Quaffle rather than coming straight at them.

There has never been a Ragg that hasn't played Quidditch, or if there has been nobody remembers them. So much so that often members of the Ragg family marry other Quidditch players. Though this is by no means enforced by anyone, usually it just comes with the territory.

Both of Rascal's parents are Quidditch League players, both still playing for the Martlesham Maulers. Naming your children after types of mischief is a family tradition. Rascal's father is named Rapscallion because of this. And Rascal's younger siblings also follow suit.

Rascal often claims they could ride a broom before they could walk. (The truth of such is up for debate.) But they take after their parents entirely, loving Quidditch and Broom Riding in all their forms.

Rascal grew up privileged, never wanting for much. And in a loving household too. There was that sense of pressure to live up to their parent's legacy, but that's all they wanted to do anyway. If not surpass them.

Rascal intends to leave Hogwarts a legend, otherwise what's the point of even trying?

First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
When Rascal was three years old they threw a temper tantrum about not being allowed to ride a broom by themself.

During their tantrum, a vase full of sunflowers was nearby. The sunflower petals shifted from yellow to red.

Character Backstory:

Vivienne Thorne was born the first child to an eminent pure-blood family. From the moment she was born, Vivienne learned about the prestige of pure-blood families, the importance of preserving magical traditions, and the social hierarchy that many old wizarding families considered natural. Growing up, she saw a family built on public image and community prestige; thus never having a proper chance to go and explore beyond her four walls. Vivi was homeschooled before Hogwarts by a private tutor, alike to most children born of her descent. 'She is going to be great one day'; her teacher had declared long before her acceptance letter arrived.
Vivienne did not mind the pressure. In fact, she thrived under it. Her expectations from herself had always been much higher than her family's expectations from her.
Vivienne's parents, Artimus Thorne and Sylvia Grace-Thorne, were pure-blood parenting incarnate. Arthur, though not an unkind father, did not consider affection his first language. Pride, however, he did. He expected excellence from his children because he believed they were capable of nothing less. Her mother, on the other hand, was more vocal with her emotions, but her expressiveness was limited to anything that would be deemed acceptable. Sylvia was the source of Vivienne's core values; kindness and humility. She'd see her mother do small things for her and her siblings, take care of animals, and feed the homeless. Her mother had set the standard for basic human decency high.
Vivienne did not have to ask for much throughout her childhood. All her needs and wishes would be fulfilled before she even got the chance to put them into words. That was the love language she had learnt; actions instead of words. It was also something she would slowly start to unlearn as she grew up— who wouldn't want to tell the people they love that they loved them?
Although they tried the best not to show it, Vivienne noticed the tension between her parents sometimes. The way they would avoid eye contact with each other, the way their tones would be clipped sometimes. They loved their children; that bit was obvious; but they also unintentionally taught Vivienne what love was not supposed to look like between partners.
The silence in her household taught Vivi how to control her emotions, how to charm people, and how to say all the right things. It, however, also taught her how to conceal her emotions so well, no one would be able to take a peek inside her heart unless she allowed it. She was learning to allow it.
The best part about her life definitely had to be Vivienne's brothers, Atlas and Lucas. The twins were approximately 2 years younger than her, and the best brothers she could ask for. She often claimed they were impossible. They often claimed she loved them anyway. They would be absolutely correct.
Hogwarts was Vivienne's dream. She'd always known that she would, but something about the fact that she would finally be free to do whatever she wanted, made her yearn to go there.

First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
Vivienne was eight, at a family gathering hosted at her grandmother's house, getting majorly ignored by the adults, who were busy in their own talks. Her cousins mocked her for being 'too young to matter'. Sitting at the dinner table, she did not realize when her little palms curled into fists and she began getting frustrated. Suddenly, while staring at the white flower vase sitting in the center of the dinner table, she noticed it starting to crack. Her family turned their attention toward it as it shattered into pieces.
Her grandmother was the first to smile. Vivienne had displayed her first instance of magic.

Simon Hughes was born in a seaside city in Scotland. His mother was a Muggle and his father a wizard. His father worked as a magizoologist. He travelled a lot and most of the time was absent from the family’s life. Simon always asked his father to take him along, but his father never agreed. Simon had to stay at home and look after his mother.
His mother did not have a job. She had developed early-onset Alzheimer’s, and her daily functioning and memory were slowly slipping away, slowly killing her. As her son, he was the one who had to take care of her. He never really got to have a normal childhood. He never had any friends, and the few he did have would stop talking to him after one visit to his house. Over time, he stopped inviting anyone.
He rarely got to do the things he loved, but when his father came back from one of his many trips, Simon would have a brief period of free time that he gladly used for his hobbies. He loved the sea. He went there with his mother, and she watched as he splashed in the water, even on cold days. But when he was alone, he could swim far, far out and surrender completely to the waves. It cleared his head of worries and thoughts. For that hour or so, he was completely at peace.
He also liked skateboarding. At the skate park he would fall, get up, fall again and stand up again. He loved how free he felt as he balanced on the board and sped along, feeling the wind on his skin.
He had heard of Hogwarts from his father. The stories from the school fascinated him. When he was very little, he asked his father to tell them every night before he went to sleep. He dreamed of going to Hogwarts. But when his mother fell ill, he became worried. He didn’t want to leave her or go away, because he knew no nurse or caregiver would ever tend to her the way she needed to be tended to. But when the letter came, his father insisted, so he went.

First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
His first instance of magic occurred when he was seven years old. He used to despise the neighbours who lived across from their house. They were obnoxious and generally unpleasant. Their kids picked on him at school, and their parents played loud music some evenings.
One day, he was walking past their house, his mother’s hand around his elbow, on their way to the sea. The children from the family came out and started laughing at him and his mother. They said nasty things. He became angry; suddenly, he turned around and pulled his arm free from his mother. He lunged at them with his fists and threw a punch.
Strangely, just as his fist collided with one of the children’s faces, both of them levitated into the air. They hung five feet off the ground, their faces now twisted in fear. His mother did not notice, did not care. His own face, however, went slack. He hurried away from the children as fast as he could. They turned a corner and the children disappeared from view. He never got any closure, but he never forgot what had happened.

Physical Description:

Reducio

I am 4'11" with fair skin, light freckles scattered gently across my nose, and bright blue-grey eyes that seem to notice everything around me. My eyes are often the first thing people notice because they reflect my curiosity and alertness. I have wavy, light brown hair that falls just below my shoulders. I usually leave it loose, but when I am busy or want to keep it out of my face, I tie it into a loose ponytail or tuck a few strands behind my ears.

I have a warm, approachable smile that makes me seem friendly even when I am feeling shy or uncertain. My posture hints at a quiet confidence, although I do not always feel as confident as I appear. I have a small, fairly ordinary build, and I prefer to keep my appearance natural rather than spending too much time trying to look perfect.

Outside Hogwarts, I usually wear comfortable and practical clothes. My usual outfit consists of a pair of jeans, trainers, and a well-worn leather jacket that has become one of my favourite pieces of clothing.

Mental Description:

Reducio

I am curious, quick-thinking, and always ready with a question—sometimes more than people have the patience for. I have an active mind and enjoy learning about things that catch my attention. I often find myself thinking deeply about situations, trying to understand not only what is happening but also why it is happening. I am deeply loyal to those I care about and value honesty, trust, and genuine friendship above everything else.
While I enjoy meeting new people and can be friendly and sociable, I tend to keep my deepest thoughts and feelings to myself. It takes time for me to completely open up to someone, but once I trust a person, I am willing to stand by them through difficult situations. I am resourceful and rarely give up when faced with a problem. Instead, I try to find clever and practical ways around obstacles, even when the obvious solution does not work.
I am also independent-minded and not afraid to question things I believe are wrong. I strongly dislike unfairness and will stand up for myself or others when necessary. Although I can sometimes be stubborn or overthink things, I believe these qualities also help me remain determined and thoughtful. Overall, I am curious, loyal, brave, and quietly determined.

Background Story:

Reducio

I grew up in South London with my parents and my older brother, Jack. My father works as a businessman, and my mother is a nurse, so I often spent time at home reading, sketching, or roaming the neighbourhood with friends. Despite their busy schedules, they always made sure that Jack and I felt loved and supported.

Our home was a warm and lively place, filled with the ordinary sounds of family life. As a child, I spent most of my free time doing simple things that I enjoyed. South London was familiar and comforting to me, and I knew many of its streets, parks, and little shops quite well. Jack and I sometimes played together, although, like most siblings, we had our share of arguments too.

Life was simple and peaceful, and I enjoyed the comfort of familiar routines. I loved spending quiet afternoons with books, drawing pictures, and talking with my friends. Nothing seemed unusual or mysterious, and I believed my future would be just as ordinary as my childhood in every way.

My entire family is Muggle, and magic was never a part of our lives. To us, witches and wizards belonged only in fairy tales and fantasy stories. We had no reason to believe that magic was real, and I certainly never imagined that it would one day become an important part of my own life.

First Instance of Magic:

Reducio

My brother and I were playing in the park when his cricket ball flew high into the branches of a tree. We looked up helplessly. It was completely out of reach, and there was no way we could get it back. I was feeling extremely sad as it was a new ball that my brother's best friend had gifted him.

I stared at the ball for a moment, wishing desperately that it would somehow fall. I sighed and looked away for a second. Suddenly, I heard a soft rustling above us. Before I could understand what was happening, the ball dropped from the branches and landed straight into my arms.
I froze.

For a few seconds, everything around me seemed to disappear—the laughter of children, the rustling leaves, even my brother's voice. I could only stare at the cricket ball in my hands. My heart was pounding, not with fear, but with a strange, overwhelming sense of wonder. I had no idea how it had happened. I simply knew that I had wished for the ball to fall, and somehow, it had happened.

At the time, I dismissed it as a strange coincidence. I had no reason to believe that anything magical had happened. Yet, somewhere deep inside, a tiny question remained: could there be something different about me?

Reason: Sudden disappearance of muggle best friend
Damage caused: Couldn't be a part of graduation registration to the 2nd year.

Reducio

Jessica Matthews was having a smooth first year until her best friend disappeared all of a sudden. Her best friend vanished without any warning and Jessica Matthews was left with no idea what happened to her friend and no idea if her best friend was safe. Since Jessica Matthews was one of the people who knew her friend the best, Jessica Matthews could not stop worrying about her best friend. She found it hard to pay attention in her classes. She kept wondering where her best friend could be and if there was anything she could have done to help her best friend.

For a time Jessica Matthews was really affected by not knowing what happened to her best friend. Her school work started to get worse. The subjects she used to like became really hard for her to focus on. Eventually her parents decided that it would not be an idea for Jessica Matthews to keep going to Hogwarts while she was feeling so unsure about everything. So she missed the graduation registration.
At that time Jessica Matthews did not really care about anything. Her best friend was missing. School did not seem as important as finding out what happened to her best friend.

Months later her best friend was finally. She was alive. Even though her best friend was back what happened had an impact on Jessica Matthews. She had been living with much uncertainty for so long that it was hard for her to go back to her normal life right away.. Knowing her best friend was safe finally made Jessica Matthews feel better and she could start to get her life back on track.

As time went on Jessica Matthews started to feel really frustrated about how behind she had fallen in school. She did not want what happened to her friend to mess up her education forever. So she decided to join later and request the authority to process her graduation to the 2nd year.

Jessica Matthews was naturally curious which made studying for her. She often studied more than she had to subjects like mathematics, physics and chemistry that she really liked. What started as preparing for a test soon became something Jessica Matthews really enjoyed doing.

Studying gave Jessica Matthews something to focus on besides what happened to her friend. Of thinking about all the uncertain months she could focus on finishing another chapter solving another problem or learning a new spell. Every time she achieved something it reminded her that she was still in control of her future.

By the time, Jessica Matthews had studied hard and felt confident that she could do well. She knew that it would not make her forget the uncertain times and it would not give her back the time she lost.

Her best friend was safe and Jessica Matthews was ready to move on.

The re-registration is a chance to get back to the year she was supposed to be, in. She was determined to show that even though her friends disappearance had messed up her education it had not taken away her ambition or her ability to keep going after her dreams.

-To be moved up to second year you need to apply for the advancement program after your index registration is approved and your character is added to the index, before the month of August is over.
-Backstory needs to be minimum 220 words in itself.
-Please include a short explanation of why she did not graduate with everyone else.
-The ency is missing a trunk post.
-The first instance of magic currently reads too intentional. She would not be able to trigger the first instance of magic by only shouting for it to come down. It happens when they feel a very strong emotion, and it's not necessarily something convenient to what is happening to them.
STATUS: Pending, Milica, 21 August
Reasons for pending:
- Your backstory is still not 220 words.
- The first instance of magic still reads intentional. Your character is literally asking the ball to come down. It needs to be unintentional.
- It is not realistic for your character to not have any education whatsoever. The British school system makes education compulsory. Therefore: what did she do while she was not in Hogwarts?
STATUS: Approved, Milica, 21 August
For clarity purposes: in our owls we concluded that after a tough few months, Jessica managed to get her studying back on track but decided to stay behind a year as to make up for her missed first year.

Character Backstory

Solène Esmée d'Estienne spent her earliest years in the French countryside on the outskirts of Eguisheim. The d’Estienne family, an old noble line in France, traced its roots back to the medieval era in Lorraine. Over the centuries, the family has mixed with muggles and spread to other regions of France. Despite this, Solène's branch of the family takes pride in maintaining their pureblood lineage.

Surrounded by the trappings of wealth and prestige, Solène's childhood was warped by her parents' absence. Her father, Benoit, who works for the 'Ministry of Magical Affairs of France, was often too busy to give his children the time of day. Her mother, Océane, worked as an Auror and was often away on work trips. This left Solène and her sister, Lunette, primarily raised by a variety of nannies and house elves. And on the very rare occasion, their uncle Orion Lécuyer. Her caregivers were always impressed, often showering Solène with praise and admiration as she excelled in her studies. Nothing was better than a rainy day sat in a window nook with her nose in a book. Despite efforts to ensure the siblings were impeccably behaved, Solène was often the target of her younger sister’s annoying pranks and loudmouth.

The Summer Before School|
The London home was typically used as a vacation/second home for the family; however, Benoit, Solène’s father, decided that the girls attending Hogwarts, where their uncle currently taught, was a better option for the entire family. This would trigger a rare moment when he would be home for an extended period as they processed the move and set up the home. This decision also allowed Benoit to be closer when they weren’t on assignment.
First Instance of Magic
Reducio
Solène, having excelled at everything at a young age, it was of no real surprise that her first instance of magic happened at 6. While on vacation at their summer home in England, the girls were kept inside on a particularly stormy day, which inevitably led Lunette to devise a plan to get under her skin. Solène sat peacefully studying when suddenly a balled-up piece of paper hit her squarely in the forehead. Looking up to see who else, but her little sister, giggling and lobbing another one her way. Moving out of the way and collecting her books, Solène started making her way out of the library, trying to head up to her room. This would only goad her sister into throwing more paper balls at her, and when Solène finally hit her breaking point, it was as if the world slowed. What would happen in a few seconds felt like minutes as Solène turned around to see a barrage of the remaining paper balls flying at her face. “ENOUGH! HOW DARE YOU?” As Solène yelled at her little sister, it was as if a small shockwave came forth from her body, forming a small, imperfect shield in front of her. It repelled the paper balls that were going to hit her while others narrowly whizzed past her. Just when it seemed the sisters might get into an actual fight, their nanny rushed in, putting a temporary end to it.

The Al-Ashmuni family originated near the modern town of El Ashmunein in Middle Egypt before emigrating to Britain in 1919 following the Egyptian Revolution. Family chronicles claim the family resided in the magically potent region since the times of Classical Antiquity where a city called Khemenu (later Hermopolis), once existed. The city served as a major cult center dedicated to the Egyptian god of wisdom and magic, Thoth. It was there that the Al-Ashmunis can trace their magical lineage as temple priests and court officials. Members of the family held the title sesh per-ankh, meaning scribes of the house of life, a temple rank concerned with the keeping of dangerous knowledge rather than the revelation of it. However, a second and rarer title, djeser-maau, meaning sacred seer, also appeared in family chronicles and was reserved for those born with the gift of Sight. The last recorded djeser-maau in the Al-Ashmuni family died over a millennia ago and the gift was thought lost. It was not until a recent union with another magical family that the recessive gene was able to resurface in Zayn.

As an 11 year old wizard, Zayn does not yet have visions. Instead he has brief flashes of intuition that exhibit themselves at random times. He does not see these things as an explicit talent or skill, but rather just coincidence or intelligence. For example, he might answer a question before a person finishes the question or open a door just before a visitor knocks on it. Once, he even grabbed a hot cup of tea just before it was to fall on his sleeping grandfather. Even his family, which includes talented witches and wizards, do not see these acts as anything more than the actions of a perceptive child with a seemingly quick mind. This has, for better or worse, given Zayn a bit of a chip on his shoulder and translated into overconfidence at times. Such flashes of intuition, of course, do not happen on demand which has led to more than one uncomfortable situation in which he assumed he knew what would happen but it turned out to be the opposite. This assumption will likely lead to more embarrassing situations for the young wizard in the future, until he realizes what he is.

As neither Zayn nor his family are aware of nor have any expectation of having a Seer in the family, the slow revelation of this gift will be an interesting plot to explore. Until the more visible changes begin to take place (like changing of the eyes and hair), Zayn will largely be left on his own to discover and realize that he has the gift of Sight over the years. While he might ask for advice from professors or fellow students, he is fairly stubborn and self-motivated so will probably embark on a process of self-discovery to avoid any potential embarrassment from his peers. He might assume it is some magical malady rather than a rare gift, or the effects of some artifact or spell, and not want his classmates to think he is tainted or contagious. (517 words)
Character Backstory:
Reducio
Zayn Al-Ashmuni was born on March 13, 2015 in London, a scion of the Al-Ashmuni family which immigrated from Egypt to the UK in 1919. The eldest of four children, he was raised in the district of Bloomsbury where the family maintained a Fidelius-charmed townhouse as their primary residence. With his parents and grandparents all active in academia, his early childhood was spent surrounded by old books, maps, and antiquities. His grandfather would often recount old stories from when the family lived in Egypt. This upbringing led to an affinity for history and archaeology, primarily with topics related to egyptology with which he feels a personal connection. As a child he was focused and had a curious mind, excelling in his home studies with the family’s tutor.

Outside of his studies, Zayn enjoyed exploring the countryside and going on small adventures around Mould-on-the-Wold where his family maintained a vacation cottage and would visit a few times a month. He had friends from other wizarding families and was fairly outgoing and gregarious. He had a natural gravitas that attracted others into his group. He greatly enjoyed playing games of chance like exploding snap, as well as other card games.

Zayn was close with his family, including his younger siblings, to whom he was something of a role model and protector. Unlike many older British Pure-blood families, the Al-Ashmunis held no ideology of blood supremacy. Their Pure-blood status was a matter of lineage rather than principle as the family placed greater value on preserving magical talent and tradition than on any notion of superiority over Muggles or Muggle-borns. (266 words)
First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
Zayn's first instance of magic occurred when he was 9 years old while the family was on holiday in Mould-on-the-Wold. Zayn, along with his younger siblings, were walking through a dense copse of ancient trees when one of the branches broke free from a gust of wind. He could hear the branch break and watched helplessly as it fell directly down towards one of his siblings. Too far to physically help, he began to panic and shouted for her move but he knew it would be too late. Except, rather than hit his sister, the branch instead burst into splinters a meter above her head and flew harmlessly to the side of the trail. Both Zayn and his siblings were frozen in shock, amazed at what the young boy had just unintentionally done. They soon recovered, however, and ran back to the cottage to tell their parents the good news.

Character Backstory: Isabella was born January 9th, 2013. Before she came to Hogwarts, she lived in both the muggle and magical world, due to the fact that her father was a muggle doctor and her mother was a witch working for the Ministry of Magic. Some of her close friends (friends from close family friendship, I also changed this without doing anything else from cousins to close family friends, I hope that is okay as well) growing up were Lenora Grace and Penelope Kneen. Isabella also grew up with an older sister, Auriela Dín, and a younger brother, Alex Dín. Isabella loved the trips to her grandparents' house that they would take once a year (her dad was from America and thus her grandparents on that side of the family lived in America). They would usually take the trip in the summer and Isabella would get to spend lots of time having fun at their house (and using their pool). Isabella had cousins as well, Alyssa and Cleo. They were one year older than her and they were twins. They also came to their grandparents' house during summer, so Isabella also got to hang out with them there. Alex was sad when he heard that Isabella would be leaving him to go to Hogwarts, but she reassured him that she would come visit during the year. In Isabella's first year she would be sorted into Hufflepuff, the home of the just, kind, and loyal. She would also meet many new people throughout her first year. However, she was held back 2 years because of something terrible that had happened. Her brother had been cursed. St. Mungo's, nor any curse breakers they could find were able to help. Isabella was removed from school while the family was struggling. Eventually, they found some spells & potions that keep away the side affects, and her parents decided they could no longer keep her out of school, so she went back to Hogwarts.

First Instance of Magic: When Isabella was five years old, she had her first instance of magic. She, her older sister, and her parents were in a pool, swimming. Her parents had had to leave her side to go help her sister with something. Isabella had gotten tired and started to sink through the water. An air bubble suddenly popped into existence & she floated up to the surface and into her mother's arms.

You will have to register as a first year who has been held back two years. After you're added to the index, it's possible to apply for the advancement program if you wish.
- Please provide an explanation as for why your character has been held back two years.
STATUS: Pending, Milica, 21 August
Reasons for pending:
- Thank you for providing the explanation. However it doesn't really make sense that your character would be held back for two whole years because she is struggling with magic. Please provide a different explanation, e.g. sickness which could not be cured by magic or some other reason.
- Your backstory still mentions the birth date in 2015, please change that.

Her parents had always wanted a child, so when Breonna came along they felt very blessed to have her. She is a muggle-born. Her mother is a teacher at a primary school, teaching young kids about art is a passion of hers and where Breonna gets her love of creative expression, and her father owns a deli that she spends a lot of time at. Mostly testing her creations and saving customers from near disasters. They have always allowed her to be herself and flourish in the things she is good at or loves. The encourage her to be strong and unapologetically herself. They have family dinner every night expect Saturday's as she spends those nights with her friends.

Breonna being a bit different on her own accord even without the magic meant she did not have many friends. She tend to spent a lot of time on her own and enjoyed it all the same. She did have two friends, Claire and Alex. Both kids her age who liked the things she did, comic books and videos games and jokes that sometimes were a bit too dark. Most of her fondest memories included riding bikes with them and hanging out at the pier and discussing topics most people rolled their eyes at. They stuck together always, so coming to a new school was scary. She didn't really get on at school. She made good grades but she was not the best at paying attention. She found most of her studies boring and repetitive, but that didn't mean she did not understand them.

Her first run into magic happened when she was only six years old. She had gotten her first bike and she was determined to ride it by herself without her parents help. She took off and within minutes she was down on the street with a cut knee. It hurt, and she remembers she pain but as she rolled over to to check, there was a hole in her jeans on her knee, but the scrap was no longer there.

Leona Chesterwell was born on the 13th of November 2014 in Birmingham, England, to Teresa Chesterwell and her Australian father, Alastair. Alastair had moved to England four years before Leona’s birth, where he met Teresa and quickly fell in love with her. Leona was named after her great-grandmother, Bella Leona Chesterwell, carrying a name that had been cherished within the family for generations.

For the first several years of Leona’s life, Alastair remained in England, but more recently his work has required him to travel frequently between England and Australia. The exact nature of his business remains undisclosed, though his absence has been difficult for Leona. Before leaving for Australia, Alastair gave his daughter his locket necklace, telling her it would bring her good luck and reminding her that he was always thinking of her.

Leona has ADHD, and her energetic personality is impossible to overlook. She is loud, rambunctious, excitable, and rarely sits still for long. Despite her chaotic nature, Leona is an exceptionally happy and warm-hearted girl who will happily help almost anyone she meets. Her kindness has been evident from a young age. When she was four, she discovered an injured pigeon with a broken wing and began feeding it every day until it recovered. She became fiercely protective of the bird, refusing to let anyone convince her that it would be better left alone.

Although Leona is a pure-blood witch, Teresa made certain that she grew up respecting Muggle customs and ways of life. Many of Teresa’s closest friends are Muggle-born witches and wizards, so Leona was never taught to look down upon Muggles. She received tutoring in magic thoery while growing up, but Teresa also encouraged her to experience the Muggle world, teaching her various sports and games.

When Leona finally received her Hogwarts acceptance letter, she was overwhelmed with excitement. She celebrated so enthusiastically that she promptly fainted.

Leona was 8. She had climbed the roof of her house to help a injured bird. She slipped on some tiles and started falling. However, she floated down into a bush, and climbed out unscathed. Her mother was angry that Leona had done that, but happy to see magic in her blood.
STATUS: Pending — Santiago, 20/08/26
Reasons for pending:
- The backstory needs to be at least 220 words.
- We don't have potions and spells in trunks anymore, so please remove them from the trunk.
- Nationality is usually changed when a character was born outside the UK or when their parents are originally citizens of another nation. Please clarify why she would be considered Australian despite her current background.
- Please include any changes written in the encyclopedia.
STATUS: Pending, Milica, 21 August
Reasons for pending:
- Since Leona herself is born in England, it doesn't make sense to change her nationality to Australian. If you would like her to be Australian you can write that she is born in Australia and that the family moved to England.
- You mention Leona received tutoring in 'magic' growing up: please rewrite this to make it clear that this is not practical magic but only theory, as all Hogwarts students are expected to start on an equal basis.

Physical Description:

Reducio

I am a 4'11" with fair skin, light freckles across her nose, and bright blue-grey eyes that seem to notice everything. My wavy, light brown hair falls just below my shoulders and is often tied in a loose ponytail or tucked behind my ears. I have a warm, approachable smile and a posture that hints at quiet confidence. Outside of Hogwarts, I usually wears jeans, trainers, and a well-worn leather jacket.

Mental Description:

Reducio

I am curious, quick-thinking, and always ready with a question—sometimes more than people have patience for. I am deeply loyal to those she cares about. While I enjoy meeting new people, I tend to keep my deepest thoughts and feelings to myself. I am resourceful, finding clever ways around problems, and I am afraid to stand up to unfairness.

Background Story:

Reducio

I grew up in South London with my parents and my older brother, Jack. My father works as a businessman, and my mother is a nurse, so I often spent time at home reading, sketching, or roaming the neighbourhood with friends. My family is entirely Muggle, and the idea of magic had never crossed their minds beyond fairy tales.

First Instance of Magic:

Reducio

My brother and I were playing in the park when his cricket ball flew high into the branches of a tree. We looked up helplessly. It was completely out of reach, and there was no way we could get it back. I was feeling extremely sad as it was a new ball that my brother's bestfriend gifted him.
I stared at the ball for a moment, wishing desperately that it would somehow fall. Then, almost timidly, I lifted my little voice and said, “Come down.”
The moment the words left my mouth, the ball fell straight into my arms.
I froze.
For a few seconds, everything around me seemed to disappear—the laughter of children, the rustling leaves, even my brother's voice. I could only stare at the cricket ball in my hands. My heart was pounding, not with fear, but with a strange, overwhelming sense of wonder.
