First of all, the idea of there being some type of platform called 9 3/4 was already absurd. The fact that she actually saw people disappearing into a wall was even more so. Breonna was used to weird, she was weird. So weird in fact when she got her letter part of her thought it was a joke, the other half? Well, it made proper sense--but this? Of all things? Quite peculiar if she did say so herself. And she very much said so.
She took a deep breath, eyes on the wall. That had to be it. She looked over her shoulder and sighed. Her parents, Sarah and Peter were quickly making their way toward her to say goodbye. She had gotten mixed responses from them when she had gotten her letter. She was a muggle born, no magic in her family that she nor her parents knew of. Her father thought it was a joke, someone playing a prank on them, maybe one of Breonna's friends or worse, the lot that didn't like her too well. When he accepted it to be true, he didn't want to let his little girl go. He knew how hard it was for her to make friends and be herself around others and it worried him as it would any father. Her mother however beamed at the thought of her daughter being something special, unique and different like she had always thought.
Breonna groaned and tried to hide the heat rushing to her face. "Don't you two start, I am serious. I will be fine!" She hissed to her parents, her father on the verge of tears, her mother smiling proudly. She glanced around as if she was nervous someone would see. "My little Bean, all grown up and doing, well, who knows what!" She could barely stop her farther as he came to grip her cheeks and squeeze, her mother chiming in with a smothering hug. "Okay, okay! That's enough of that, I will write, promise." She declared as she readied herself and turned back around. She didn't want to be late.
She gave one more look back, seeing the smiling faces of her parents one last time before closing her eyes and charging forward. She didn't hit a wall, to her surprise, she simply just went through. She looked around, kids of all ages talking vibrantly and owls flying about like it was a normal thing. She tugged her robes around her, this part of the uniform completely different from her normal.
"ALL ABOARD THE HOGWARTS EXPRESS!"
The announcement was loud, booming, and she noticed it didn't come from a speaker but from some man holding a wand against his throat to amplify it, she gasped. This was real. She hurried onto the train, afraid of being left behind somehow. She swallowed hard as she saw kids talking, things floating, laughs being share and she ducked her head as she moved to an empty cabin.
After taking a seat and letting the door slide close, she settled, and let out a soft sigh. This was all new. Even if she glanced at a book or two, it did not prepare her for just how different this world was. Now cam her biggest fear: Would she be able to fit in here?
