A Flustering Revelation PV Simon Kincaid

Simon was in midthought when she called his name but it was a welcomed interruption and he glanced up with a smile on his face. That smile only widened when she mentioned her news and as he could feel her excitement grow, he did abandon that notebook on the grounds of Hogwarts and stood up to hug his friend.

"Emiline, that's such great news!" he said. He knew Kaitlyn and thought the two could be quite a compatible couple. As the moments passed, Simon wasn't quite sure who was more excited - Emiline or himself. Simon loved love. "What was her face like when you asked? Did they answer right away or make you suffer? Have you planned out the first date? When is it? Do I need to prepare a speech for the wedding or are we still at stage one?" Probably stage one. He needed to step back slightly.

Simon smiled though as he pulled back from the hug. "Congratulations, Em. I'm proud of you. Admitting feelings isn't easy." Sometimes discovering and realizing feelings weren't easy and those needed to be overcame in order to get anywhere near where Emiline was now.

Simon just realized he practically ambushed the poor girl. "Really, Em, I'm glad you told her," he said as he went to sit down under the shade of the tree but left his notebook unoccupied. This was much more important at the moment. He pulled Emiline down gently to come sit with him. "You seem happy. I like seeing you happy," he told her.

Emiline doesn't seem fazed by the many many questions. She takes them in her stride. "She was so cute when she answered, stammering and blushing, but she did take a second to answer, but I think that was so she could get her thought together!" Emiline beams ear to ear, her eyes sparkling with joy. "Well, for the date.... I plan to ask her to the Wonderland Waltz! Hopefully nothing goes wrong like the last two years, but if it does then we can protect each other and eeeeeeek that will be so cute!" Emiline does another jump up and down, super full of energy from this encounter. The younger hufflepuff brunette goes bright right at the mention of a wedding speech. "S-simon?! A wedding? Y-you can't be serious!" Both of the girl's hands came up either side of her face as if trying to cover up her flustered red cheeks

Emiline giggled again. "Everyone says admitting to your feelings is hard, but I feel like with the right person it can be easy!" The younger puff said with a beam. It made her whole face shine with happiness. Her eyes shining, her cheeks rosy and her lips up.

She allows herself to be gently pulled down by Simon onto the cool grass, in the shade. "I loveeeee being happy too! I feel like I could do anything! Give me any amount of homework professors, you can't dampen my mood." She says loudly, making a few nearby people turn their heads.

"I think realising the feelings is the hardest part. You've got to do that, overcome the obstacles in your head, and admit to them," at least that's how it went for him. He had known that AngelFyre had feelings for him - having found a note she had scribbled out absent-mindedly while bored in class and accidentally left in a library book but it took him a little longer. It wasn't because the feelings weren't shared, but because he was dating someone else at the time. Or rather, perhaps one could say he was in the shadow or fragment of a relationship of what once was.

"Let's not get more homework," he said and held up his hands as if trying to stop her but there was a bright smile one his face, showing that he was only joking. He was truly happy for his friend and hoped the two would make a successful couple. Simon imagined it could be difficult at Hogwarts seeing others paired off when there was someone you were hoping to be with. He knew it would be a lonely place if he hadn't the specialest of someones.

"When you get more experience in the world of relationships, you'll have to give me some advice on when you think the right time would be to propose. I mean, we're both in school right now," he meant he and AngelFyre, "so not now, but....just wondering when it would be right to kickstart this. Don't want to wait forever when you know you've got the right one."

She half-listened to what Simon said, still hyper from her encounter with Kaitlyn. Her brain recognised something about realising and hardest part and that seemed like the gist so she beamed harder, somehow and bounced on the balls of her feet slightly.

Emiline chuckles at Simon's joke as a retort to what she said earlier about being to be given any homework as it wouldn't ruin her mood. "It was a figure of speech!" She said indignantly, just she could tell he was just joking from his body language and his bright smile. A bright smile his girlfriend probably adored.

And Emiline's mind wanders back to Kaitlyn's cute, flustered smile. It was the only thing allowed to be playing on repeat and living in her head without rent.

However, her lovesick daydreaming didn't last long. Simon pulled her back into the present moment with his question. She managed to slightly school her face to an almost-neutral. But it was a bit of a struggle as she was still over-the-moon.

He then asked her the question.

Her brain short-circuits. His words playing, but nobody to listen to them. Propose? Emiline knew Simon was older than her, but her mind just couldn't fathom that the golden couple were thinking of getting married?! Her brain stalls like a manual car with a learner driver. "Propose?!" She blurs, not slick, not subtle. Just pure surprise and amazement.

She then smirks. Then wiggles her eye brows suggestively. She looks like a little sibling when they know a secret crush and then start making kissing sounds.... being immature about it. "OoOoOh! I hear bellsSsSsS!" She teases.

But after a beat, she clears her throat and answers the question properly. "Do it, you know the feeling's mutual. And as Beyoncé would say, If you like like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it" She signs, almost intune. Her smile smug and she is clearly proud of herself for making that reference that she thinks he might know.

Simon laughed at Emiline's reaction to his proposal statement. It was probably silly of him to even think of any such things, let alone mention it aloud but Emiline didn't make him feel weird for asking. He had thought about it - a lot- and he had even envisioned a plan if he did it that very summer. Still, he and AngelFyre hadn't rushed some aspects of their relationship and there was no need to do this.

"Yes, feeling is definitely mutual but I think we need to just be for now. I need to finish school and she needs to finish school and then maybe," he shrugged. AngelFyre wasn't big on being the center of attention and somehow he figured being 'that-girl-who-is-engaged-despite-still-being-a-student-at-Hogwarts' seemed like it would attract such attention.

There was an order to things sometimes, unfortunately, but that didn't dim their relationship in the slightest. It was still bright and fiery as ever, still growing. Simon smiled over to Emiline. Here she was just at the beginning of hopefully a happy relationship. Simon was happy and excited for her.

"So when do I get to take some photographs of the two of you together? Could be a cute session down by the Great Lake, set up a picnic. I know Kaitlyn, not as well as I'd like, but she's quite nice, isn't she?"
