Eveline nodded in understanding. That made so much more sense than what she'd assumed. She'd assumed the woman made ordinary flower arrangements. Still, to not have house elves... Eveline couldn't imagine getting by without them. Her family only had a few, themselves, but they'd served with dignity for years. Eveline certainly appreciated them.

"I see. So your mother makes enchanted flower arrangements. What sorts of spells does she use? Cheering Charms? I've read about that, I think, in passing. Using Charms to enchant objects - it's how brooms are made to fly, I think."

She actually sounded impressed. There was nothing wrong with working - even a magical family. And Eveline respected someone who worked with their hands far more than she would have respected some Ministry drone, following rules and procedures mindlessly without a single original thought in their brain.

"Oh, well, we have loads of plants. Mostly Dittany, Valerian, and other plants used in potion-making, but we do have a few rarer plants, as well, depending on the season," Eveline said, showing all the interest she was expected to have in her family's trade, but very little of it was genuine. To tell the truth, she held very little interest in her family's affairs. She only learned what she knew out of obligation.

"Where does your father cook? Does he have his own restaurant?" Eveline asked with genuine interest. "I've heard there are charms to make a kitchen practically run itself, but I don't know if a chef has opinions about the use of those at his job."
