The Department of Magical Law Enforcement is the largest Department and includes the Auror Office as well as the Wizengamot. Therefore, the vibe of this cabin is disciplined, prestigious, and traditional. Its interior is held in a navy blue, forest green, mahogany, and brass color palette with a comfortable yet organised atmosphere. The floors are made of dark wood panelling and rooms are kept with a maximum of two twin XL beds for restful sleep, preferably in a room with a student you can trust… or not. Each bed has a lockable trunk at the end, as well as a bedside table with an enchanted candle and the camp schedule. The common room hosts a large fireplace and several leather sofas and armchairs, perfect for a night by the fire or an evening kept to yourself with a good book. Framed historical Auror photographs hang upon the walls, accompanied by maps of Britain, pierced with pins in seemingly unrelated locations. Finally, there are not only books and files standing on the shelves – there are also trophy cases waiting to be filled. In this cabin, those who lead and may or may not follow rules reside. Welcome, competitive spirits and future Aurors.

It is not that Evander Harvey Beauchamp had chosen to go to the camp because it was something which he particularly relished. It was rather more a case of necessity than anything else, for there was no real choice at all in the matter. There was nothing about home which was particularly comfortable except the fact that the expectations and pressures which came with it were something he wish he could endure.

The thought of leaving Marcella at her Cabin of Mysteries or whatever was the only aspect which he had hesitated with. It took him some time before he forced himself to leave, as she was the one thing that was familiar to him and brought him comfort. However, going back would be counterproductive. Therefore, Evander had left with his trunk in tow for the cabin which had been assigned to him.

The cabin turned out to be nicer than he had anticipated. It was small but cozy and charming with wooden furniture and bookshelves. Evander glanced at the surroundings approvingly until he noticed how the beds were set up. He was rooming with people. More than one. As usual, the prospect of having to share his quarters with strangers would be quite enough to make him gloomy. But now he did not find it too bothersome. After all, being among strangers was better than being surrounded by those he had been trying to leave behind all summer long.

His choice of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement had gone beyond its captivating name. He was interested in this particular field because it appealed to him in many aspects; maybe that is why he started to develop an interest in law. Law was appealing in its combination of reason and interpretation, where rules played only the half of the game and people's motivations and circumstances the other. And if he could use his vacation to gain some experience in this sphere, it would be perfect.

Responsibility, independence, new acquaintances – even if none of that appeared to be significant at the moment, it would look pretty good on a CV in the future. Nevertheless, all Evander’s thoughts came back to his roommates. The young man couldn’t help thinking whom he was going to live with, how they were going to act and whether there would be some of them he could actually have an interest in.

He had come there not seeking friendships, yet not disliking the idea either. It was somehow quite nice to meet people who didn’t know anything about you, to have no preconceived notions, no background, no expectations – just to be able to choose yourself what kind of person you wanted to become in their eyes. Thus, maybe summer camp wouldn’t be completely unpleasant experience. The young man looked at the door again, a certain curiosity overtaking him. A boy who had come there just to get away from home, Evander found himself quite eager to see who will appear there.

@Evander Harvey Beauchamp OOC: You must be told this often, but your coding is extremely beautiful! Thank you for making the cabin thread; it looks amazing. Also, nice to meet you all!
A slow, scraping sound could be heard repeatedly inching ever so closer to the cabin door. Black, sharp, and very human nails flicked repeatedly on top of a sack doll's head. Like knives dragging themselves across a chalky surface as the door creaked open to reveal something surprisingly human. Brown eyes with red pupils slowly entered the cabin space, peeking around until they halted almost immediately upon catching the appearance of a young boy. A black lipstick smile slowly developed on the girl's face. Burn scars laced her dark-skinned body. Such an interesting concept. Beauty. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but what if the beholder has no eyes? Vale had to keep herself from giggling at her own question.

"Look Ashes, someone's here already. Pretty thing too. One scratch can easily ruin that, though. We know that better than anyone." She hummed, pulling her body inside the cabin more. Her contacts caught multiple shades of color: neutral and equally majestic forms of greens, blues, and browns. Vale would stop clawing her sack doll's head when she stood in front of the photos of old Aurors of long-ago ages. She moved her same nails up to prick out a pin from the board, pointlessly holding nothing. She observed the pin with a curious gaze. The end, sharp and metallic. She grabbed another pin.

With ease, she began pricking all the photographs of Aurors with the pins. Taking the time to prick every single eyes of theirs in their photos.

Aurors raided Vale's home not too long ago. She found humor in stationing herself in a cabin surely meant to propagandize young, foolish minds into becoming one of them. Though the entire ordeal would technically be to propagandize anyone to join the Ministry.

"Vale Ashwood." Vale began, continuing her task. "May all your enemies, mercilessly, have their eyes plucked out and fed to ravens." She turned her head back around, returning her smile to her face. The doll in her hands slumped as if in quiet agreement to a 'polite' greeting of its own. Multiple Auror photographs now had pins in their eyes. Can't see beauty if you have no eyes, after all.

If one took a careful look (assuming they have eyes at all), they'd be able to notice another doll of a similar style attached to the side of the Slytherin girl's fully black outfit. It held a frown in comparison to its counterpart that held a smile. "This is Ashes." She waved an arm of the doll in her hands. A tilt of her hips, "And this is Soot. Soot likes to hear people's breathing at night. Hope you don't have snoring problems." This time, Vale let out a giggle.

Evander stood there staring blankly for several seconds, but not because he was scared. At least he hoped not. More like his brain had come to a screeching halt somewhere between stunned and fascinated.

The people at Hogwarts could be mean. Mean, vengeful, spiteful, passive aggressive, and quite inventive when they wanted to hurt someone. But there was always that certain… etiquette to it. Things were implied, insults disguised as jokes, and threats vague enough to deny that they were ever threats.

Apparently Vale did not think the etiquette necessary. Evander watched as the pin went straight into another Auror’s eye. Oh. He liked her, alright. That was an unexpected epiphany, especially since they had only known each other for about thirty seconds. There was somehow something rather refreshing in the total directness of her approach. No pretense of wording, no worries about whether her thoughts were proper for society. She just thought and said them.

And that speech. May all your enemies, ruthlessly, have their eyes put out and fed to ravens. Under the current circumstances, Evander found it hard not to suppress an inappropriate smile. Well, that was… pretty precise. He glanced at Vale once more, and for the first time since entering the cabin, there was actual interest in his eyes. "Evander Harvey Beauchamp" came his answer at last, as though giving her permission to call him by it. "Though, as far as I'm concerned, this is definitely one of the most considerate welcomes I've had."

He looked at the photos again. "I doubt I would've forgotten it, otherwise." A soft laugh slipped from his lips despite his best efforts. He didn't know whether it was the dolls, the welcome or the ridiculousness of the fact that he was in a Ministry cabin, where someone happily blinded every photograph of an Auror she laid her eyes on.

Probably all of these. "I must warn you," he continued softly, almost whispering, "I don't happen to like Aurors much myself." It wasn't necessary to explain the reason behind this. Not yet. The notion of everything he had left behind, all the expectations and people he had been avoiding over the summer, was all too recent. Evander looked up instead at the photograph that Vale was attacking at the moment.

"And seeing this..." He stopped, thinking about how to phrase it. "Well, I am not really offended." He looked back at her with a hint of amusement shining in his eyes. "Actually, I rather like you." This was definitely the most unusual thing he had said all summer. Unfortunately, he meant it.

A Summer Camp. For some, a chance to find like-minded people and lifelong friendships they’d cling to. But not for Miren. She didn’t believe in fairytales with happy ever afters, nor was she here to make friends. To her, it was simply a good opportunity to learn more about her desired path of becoming an Auror. Everything else, including sharing a cabin with other people, felt like a nuisance.

Either way, Miren was already here, and if she had to sleep under one roof with strangers, she might as well find out what to expect from them. Not bothering to announce her arrival with a knock, she opened the door and stepped inside her cabin. While the dark interior might’ve been to her liking, her focus immediately fell on the two people instead.

She took a good look at both of them with her usual stoic expression. A boy, approximately her age, and an older, scarred girl. Still unwanted company so far, but it could’ve been worse. None of them seemed like the overly positive and energetic type of people she absolutely despised.

“Hey. Don’t let me interrupt your chit-chat,” Miren said in an even tone of voice, walking over to one of the leather armchairs, where she casually plopped down, throwing her legs over the armrest. She didn’t seem to care in the slightest about manners and introducing herself first. Instead, her attention was drawn to the wall behind the other girl. “You don’t seem to let others dictate to you who to respect. I like that.” Nodding to the pins stuck in the eyes of the Aurors’ photos, Miren’s tone remained somewhat distant as she pointed out her observation, but a slight glint of interest seemed to appear in her eyes. Maybe, just maybe, her company wouldn’t be so bad afterall.

There was only one reason Akane was currently stood before the vast grounds of Hogwarts, which was dueling. When choosing a cabin to stay in, she had almost sorted herself into the Sporty People cabin. In retrospect, she was certain that such a cabin would have caused her to return to Japan much, much earlier.

One hand was free, and the other was holding her cherry wand. The duelist's baggage levitated next to her, keeping pace as she strode briskly to her cabin. Law Enforcement was not something she was particularly interested in, but it was advertised as the most orderly, which would have to do.

Each cabin would house ten students- quite a lot, considering that Akane had likely not befriended -- or even met -- ten people in total during her six-years-and-counting stay at Mahoutokoro. Her studies had taken priority, and no one seemed to especially mind, especially not her professors and her grades. Akane was not antisocial, but in all honesty, she was not opposed to the idea of flying in upon a petrel's great wings each day for the duration of summer camp, to avoid being in such a crowded space.

Three students were already present when Akane stepped through the already-open door. The third was the one who had opened the door, and she only had to sned a weak Ventus to hold it open. Not dropping her hold on her floating baggage, she surveyed the room. All three were foreigners- she could only hope one of her peers would show up, too. Two, a boy and the girl who had opened the door, were young. By her estimate, both no older than fourteen, though it was likely she was very far off. The third, however, looked to be around Akane's year. She gave a polite smile around the room, which faltered slightly as she noted the pins struck in an unfortunate picture's eyes. She wouldn't question it.

"Good afternoon," she offered simply, a slight accent in her English. Due to the need to use the foreign language for dueling incantations, Akane found herself getting better at speaking it, bit by bit. "Looks like we are having fun already," she said, gesturing at the punctured photograph. Finally, she let go of her bags, slowly dropping them to the floor.

Before Vale could even speak in return to @Evander Harvey Beauchamp, the door open to a younger girl. Vale's head twisted quickly, almost 180 degrees, to capture the new creature that entered the space. Another human. How quaint. Vale kept her smile, watching her plop onto one of the many chairs. No name given. But she was a bit familiar enough to Vale. Another Slytherin she was sure she saw at some point in the halls. Dark clothes, abrasive personality. Does whatever she desires. But Vale could just sense it. No will to make herself memorable. No true motivation to shine; a Flitterby moth attempting to exit its cocoon, revealing its radiant orange beauty at its full potential. But the Flitterby moth was struggling, its wings still stuck. Vale felt the tiniest urge to use her nails to pluck it out of its cocoon to avoid its loss of life.

But a voice rang behind Vale's head. Her father's voice, on those same Flitterby moths they moved to raise in their own home. @Miren Hawthorn

'Let it manifest on its own. Struggle is a good thing. It's fighting to live.'

Vale's head flickered again to see the door open once more, abetting a gentler approach. Another girl, but older. Maybe the same age as Vale.

Vale clawed Ashes' head again, as if reflecting on what to think. Vale usually never reflects. She simply does.

This one, about as pretty as the boy. But the air was different. This one, Vale was convinced, enjoyed order. It was slight, but just enough for Vale to notice: a mild change to one's plastered happiness. The others made it clear in their sense of likelihood to Vale's behavior. The assumption of her distaste for Aurors simply because of her mindless urge to blind the photographs of the old, yet memorable characters that invaded the space with their presence. But this one, someone Vale was convinced was from a foreign land, found no amusement.

But even chaos had to abide by a form of order. Without a form of order, what is the drive for chaos? The balance must exist. Perhaps this person would be the weight that anchors the chaos that would soon develop at full mass in the cabin. Vale decided this amidst her reflection. She halted her clawing, her head tilted back to place, and she returned her smile to her face.

"Such an interesting group of people we have so far. Two here already have shown their distaste for the Aurors on the walls, yet they seek this cabin's warmth despite all the many others that exist." Vale raised a hand, covering her crackle. One of them didn't even grant a name before their declaration against Aurors.

"I have nothing against Aurors. Quite the opposite! They're fun to toy with, actually. My brother thought so, that is. He had such a thrill with them for a very, very long time." Vale spoke nothing more. She stopped, looking down at the doll in her hand as if she was listening to a comment. She tapped her lips with a sharp nail. "We should make a game of it. See how many people in this cabin are ever so thrilled at the prospect of becoming Aurors, or not. So far...two antis, to one pro. " Vale turned her head back to @Akane Shimizu. "So, what is your stance? Don't be shy. Shine your brilliance." She kept her smile, having a feeling about the older girl's answer, but Vale was never not amused by surprises.

Without missing a beat, Vale moved over to the fireplace that warmed the cabin and sat down in front of it. She hummed, watching the flames dance in unpredictable movements. Yes, Vale decided, her choice of cabin was going to be the perfect choice.

OOC: Aw, thanks Evander! I try to be unique in Vale's persona. Not good for personality tests, though. </3

Speaking Thinking Other dialogue

The click of the cabin latch echoed softly against the mahogany walls, lost almost immediately beneath the low, crackling roar of the common room fireplace. 'Disciplined and traditional... well, the brochure certainly left out a few details on the type of people I would meet...Oh well...It's not like they could guess plus diversity is always good!' Teresa stood at the threshold for a brief moment, her scrawny frame looked awfully out of place, her robes neat with a speck of travel dust while her hands firmly gripped the brass handle of her travel trunk and a small lizard curled on her shoulder. Her large, doe-like blue eyes blinked behind her round reading glasses slightly dusty and cracked, instantly absorbing ever last detail she could find about the room and its inhabitants. Navy blue colors that reminded her of the ocean, dark wood like those found washed up near her favorite sea, brass accents... and an atmosphere so thick with chaotic, contrasting energies that her brain couldn't help but immediately start noting down every single dynamic.

Four people were already inside. First, there was the younger Gryffindor boy whom she had just heard called Evander...that should be his name it would be awfully awkward to make that mistake. who seemed to be in gryffindor. Then came another girl, relaxed casually on an armchair, Teresa immediately wanted to go over but her the aura around her screamed 'get out of my face'. Near the doorway stood an older, immaculate student with a floating bag she seemed to be from another magical school but she could only guess. And then, dominating the space in front of the hearth, was Vale.

Teresa didn't flinch at the sight of the burn-scarred Slytherin, nor did she recoil at the sight of the dark-skinned girl using sharp, metallic pins to systematically puncture the eyes of every historical Auror portrait hanging on the wall. Instead, Teresa tilted her head to the side, her knee-length blonde curls tumbling over her shoulder as a look of genuine, curiosity washed over her eyes. She wheeled her trunk inside, letting the heavy door snap shut behind her with a her feet, before stepping further into the cabin she would have to stay.

"Well, I hadn't expected this at all but I cant be mad can I?"

She set her trunk down near one of the twin XL bed, putting the lizard down that had as much pride as a little dragon who drmatically rolled over to bite its tail. She took of her glasses to clean off the dust smudged upon them as her eyes tracked the pinned up Auror photographs in facination, then to the dolls and finally to the group

"I haven't introduced myself properly... I’m Teresa. Second year, Ravenclaw." She pointed at the lizard. "I don't necessarily have a burning urge to pluck out an Auror's eyes mostly because those potraits won't really feel it still the prospect seems fun! Oh, I'm certainly not here out of deep respect for whatever Ministry authority things are either after all they never fared well with my family...Err atleast that's my mos version. Law is just... an interesting puzzle. It’s half rules, and half figure out why people break them."

Teresa then turned her gaze toward the group giving a nod of soladarity. This might be her most interesting time in the cabin.

"And as for Soot listening to people's breathing at night," Teresa added, her voice dropping just a bit in a happy breathy tone, "he’s going to have a terribly boring time on my side of the room. I might annoy his little ears off. Though if he or Ashes try to eat my reading glasses, I can't guarantee my little ouros won't mistake them for unusually aggressive beetles."

She slid her hands into her pockets, looking around at her new cabin mates with a bright, unfiltered eagerness. The cabin would be a great amazing year for them all...or she would try-
