Fyriel felt ready to perform the next yoga position. Professor Jensen had said they could use a partner but the shy huffle didn’t want to ask a stranger to do it with her. She only knew her Head of House but asking him to do yoga with her was just a little out of her comfort zone. The girl decided to use a nearby wall and performed the position perfectly. It wasn’t very difficult. Actually, she frequently used this position to read in bed with her feet up against the wall. Until her legs went numb from all the blood rushing out of them and she had to find a different way to read her books.

The next pose asked some more muscles she thought. Stomach muscles in particular. Pushing her pelvis in the air and grounding her heels into her blanket on the yoga mat, she swayed slightly to either side. Fyriel started to lose her balance and let her pelvis drop to the mat. With a dull *PLOP* her bottom fell down and she laid flat for a period of time, closed her eyes and listened to the noises of her peers. Breathing and grunting sounds, someone’s tummy rumbling for a snack, the voice of Mrs, Jensen, purring… a cat? Fyriel frowned slightly but she wasn’t exactly surprised, she couldn’t wait to have her own pet to accompany her at school. Fyriel fantasized some more about which animal she would like, what she would call it and whether or not it would get to sleep in her bed or not. A few minutes later, her mind returned to reality and she opened her eyes realizing she had nearly fallen asleep. The huffle looked around the room and saw a few students had already went to dreamland. Fyriel rubbed her eyes and shook her head to stay awake and performed the next pose.

When she looked over at the other students the young girl noticed it was a pose you had to be a little flexible for. Fyriel carefully listened to professor Jensen’s instructions and followed her peers. Sitting down on her mat with her legs stretched out in front of her, Fy slowly leaned her upper body toward her knees and stretched her fingers to her feet. Her fingertips just about touched her toes so she grabbed a hold of her feet to stay in position. At first she felt pressure so be as flat as possible but now that she relaxed it felt much better. A wobbly feeling took over Fyriel’s body as she started feeling dozy again. This yoga was so hypnotic, it really did something to her. She would have to remember these poses for when she had a need to relax or couldn’t catch sleep. The girl let her body move back into an upright seated position, next she laid down flat on her back and turned to one side in a foetus pose. Time for a nap, this was sleep yoga after all. Seeing as plenty other students were already sleeping, she didn’t feel embarrassed for dozing off too. She struggled to grab the blanket from underneath her but managed to get it and snuggled into until she felt comfortable. A content feeling spread in her mind and with the calm noises around her she fell into a peaceful slumber.

Atlas listened to Nora's words truly as she had a habit of pushing herself too far even when she was injured or ill-prepared. Rarely things scared her which caused for her to rush into dangerous situations with no thought to her own safety or life. Even with something as simple as yoga, she could feel her right shoulder throbbing as she eased up realizing it wasn't a competition and if she wanted to be ready for her Quidditch game she would need to take it easy.

Professor Jensen had then instructed the class to partner up for the next pose as Atlas turned to Ethen excited to see what pretzel shape they would have to contort into but as she watched Caradoc and Nora demonstrate the next move she let out a sigh as she nodded for Ethen to go first as she waited for him to get into position on the floor.

Grabbing his calves, Atlas helped to keep his legs straight as she resisted the urge to push them towards his chest for a gnarly stretch. As she was going next she figured she wouldn't want any retaliation. Holding this for a few moments, Atlas then released Ethen's legs and scrambled to the floor as she mimicked his floor position allowing him to guide her legs upright as she felt a gentle pull in her core.

As Nora moved to the next position, Atlas could feel her eyes growing in size as although the position didn't have any complicated twists and turns it looked like it would be difficult on her shoulder and even more so for Ethen's back.

"Take it easy Tebo...you can always sit this one out." She whispered to her best friend as still the nightmares of that night shook her mind. She had almost lost him...Hell she had almost lost herself to things she wasn't even aware existed.

Bending her legs at the knees, Atlas rested her hands on the ground palms up as she arched her back only allowing herself to go a little ways off the ground as her shoulder grew tight. "It's not a competition...It is a relaxing yoga night." She assured herself a small smile escaping her lips as she rested back down on the mat flatly.

The next pose seemed much easier, as Atlas took the time to listen to her breaths letting all her stress slip away. She couldn't get her head very far but it was nice to gently stretch out her back and feel a tiny pull at the base of her back. As she heard Nora's voice softly say "Release." Atlas rolled up her back as she sat normally on the mat her head facing the front of the room.

She hoped she would remember these poses later as she planned to keep up with Yoga. It was a unique experience for her as it was a challenge that granted relaxation which was a bizarre circumstance in her head but one she thought she needed in her ever crazy life.

When Lydia had heard of the Sleep Yoga errand that would have taken place in the Rehearsal Room after dinner, she thought it would have been a good idea to go and try it out. With the exams right around the corner, the red headed girl was trying to do her best to study and prepare herself for them, but her sleeping schedule was still pretty messed up, sleeping between two and three hours per night. So because of that, she decided to see if maybe doing some yoga before going to bed would actually help her with the task of falling asleep.

Right after dinner, where she had eaten lightly since she knew yoga required a lot of bending and possibly having your head upside down, Lydia quickly walked back to her dorm to change into a more comfortable outfit: she chose the clothes that she usually wore to go on walks around the grounds, a white, sleeveless hoodie, a pair of multicoloured leggings, white socks and her beloved black, slip-on Vans. Once she was done tying up her hair in a high ponytail, she walked out of her dorm and made her way upstairs towards the Rehearsal Room.

The moment she got in, she saw Professor Jensen sitting at the end of the room on a mat, while several other mats had been placed on the floor; several students were already taking their place, sitting down on the mats, and Lydia hurried towards one of the mats that was slightly more towards the Professor. Since it was her first time doing yoga, she wanted to be quite close to the woman, in order to see as much as she could. As she was sitting down on her mat, she noticed some familiar faces around the room, like Atlas and Ethen, Alan, Opeila, and even Professor Browne, the Hufflepuff Head of House.

Professor Jensen's voice spread through the room, and Lydia followed her instructions, taking deep breaths and then exhaling through her nose, trying to focus on her breathing. Then she opened her eyes, and reached for a pillow like the other students did. The Sleeping Swan position didn't look too complicated, it seemed quite uncomfortable though, so as she moved into the position, making sure to bring the sole of yher left foot to her right inner thigh, she was a little bit skeptical. The moment that her head rested on the pillow in front of her, with her arms extended forward, she closed her eyes and Lydia could feel the muscles in her back stretching and letting the pressure and stress slowly go away. After ten breaths she switched legs and did the pose all over again, making sure to take deep breaths and to relax, leaving out any source of stress.

When Professor Jensen told them to roll back up into position, Lydia slowly got up, making sure to roll up nice and slow, imagining every single vertebrae slowly moving back to their original place; then, right after she had parted her feet a few inches, so that they were in line with her hips, the young girl kept following Professor Jensen's instructions, folding down in half and reaching for the ground with her hands. Luckily for her, Lydia was quite flexible, and her palms easily touched the floor, as her legs were still straight.

Inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

Like that, in that position, Lydia felt even more tension leave her body as her muscles started relaxing; a shiver ran down her spine, goosebumps appearing over her skin, as she concentrated on breathing in and out. She had to admit that even though the positions so far didn't look the most comfortable, actually doing them felt extremely nice, bringing a sense of peace for the first time in a while . Everything that had happened lately, from the disastrous ball, to the Greenhouse talk, to even the Trophy Room's revelations, seemed to slowly fade away, leaving a pleasant calm inside of Lydia.

The next pose sounded, and looked quite fun to do, and Lydia found herself quite excited at the prospect of trying it. She tried to follow Professor Jensen's example as much as she could, with her right foot parallel to the right hand, her left leg stretched behind her, as she did her best to balance herself while keeping her neck and spine in line. As the Professor walked around, Lydia closed her eyes, since she didn't want to be think about the possibility that she might have been doing something wrong; if the Professor would have corrected her, then she would have adjusted accordingly, but at least she wouldn't have had the urge to follow where she was going and get anxious whenever she would walk close to her.

Hearing the praise coming from Professor Jensen lifted Lydia's mood even more, as she could feel a small smile making its way over her lips. As she slowly got up from the Lizard Pose, the red headed girl felt as if all of her limbs were made out of jelly; she hadn't been this relaxed in so long that she could barely remember how it felt. Following the instructions for the next pose, Lydia felt quite happy to have chosen one of the mats on the side, because it meant she was close to the wall; she turned the mat around and got into the new position, her legs up in the air, perpendicular to the wall they were resting against. Once the fifteen seconds had passed, she stayed down on the mat, and could almost feel herself falling asleep as she waited for also the other students to be ready with the next pose.

The Before-Bed-Bridge wasn't too difficult to execute, what was more challenging was actually holding it for ten breaths; Lydia had never been the type to exercise - she did enjoy running and walking, but she had never done abs exercises- so she could really feel her abs working to maintain the position; once the ten breaths were over, she slowly went back down on the mattress and then, after laying there for a few moments, Lydia sat up and, after moving her mat in the original position, she prepared for the next pose. The Seated-Forward Fold was extremely relaxing; she could feel her legs pull a little bit as she touched her knees with her forehead, but at the same time it felt extremely nice; she had to struggle again not to fall asleep right there, in the middle of the errand, but she managed not to do that, and once Professor Jensen told them to release, she slowly did that and sat cross legged on her mat.

Permission given to godmod Ileen for the partner pose
It took Dee all of half a second to jump to her feet and start haphazardly gathering up her mat when Professor Jensen announced that the next pose would require a partner (or a wall, but Dee single-mindedly ignored that part).
It was all the excuse she had needed to make her way over to Ileen and stick to her resolution of strictly listening to directions this time.

Hence she was already halfway across the room, hopping between mats and trying to avoid stepping on any toes, hands, or other extremities, when Ileen finally seemed to spot her. Dee grinned and waved at her energetically, almost dropping the sloppily bunched up mat in her arms in the process, in response to Ileen's rather faint smile.
A small twinge of worry shot through Dee at the sight. Had something happened? While Ileen was by far not as exuberant with her emotions as Dee was - one might call her reserved, aloof, sometimes even offish at times - Dealla knew her well enough at this point to read her expressions fairly well.

Ileen seemed... sad, and a little angry, and most of all hurt. Dealla had really only ever seen her get that way when there was news from her parents - disappointing, hurtful news, usually.
Well. If Ileen wanted to talk to her about it, she would, but certainly not here, not now, so instead, Dee would do her best to distract her from whatever it was that was on her mind.

"Hey!" Dee whisper-yelled as she reached her friend and started spreading her mat out on the floor. "I didn't know you were going to come to this! You - at an event that involves more than three people - without someone dragging you here? Who are you?" She grinned to show that she wasn't really serious, and flopped down on her mat, looking up at Ileen. "I hope you don't have a partner for this pose yet, because I'll have to steal you from them."

At this point, she had missed half of Professor Jensen's instructions, so she sneaked a quick glance to see what the pose was supposed to look like, if nothing else. It didn't seem terribly complicated, so she grinned up at Ileen and dropped down flat on her back, spreading her arms to both sides and kicking up her legs. "Me first!"
Thankfully, Ileen was used to Dee's antics by now, so she didn't protest before grabbing Dee's ankles to hold her legs up.

For the next fifteen seconds, Dee actually switched to listening instead of talking, closing her eyes and trying to breathe slowly and evenly, in and out, but those were over all too quickly, so very soon, she lowered her legs - slowly - and then was back on her feet again, rather quickly. So far, the yoga hadn't done much to make her sleepy.

Returning the favour, Dee held onto Ileen's ankles as well, supporting her legs, although Ileen seemed to be doing pretty well by herself. The Ravenclaw looked down at her friend in thought. "I really didn't think I'd see you here, or I would have suggested going together," she said. "Do you like yoga?"

Yoga was for middle-aged moms who wanted to exercise without sweating.

At least, that was how Ami saw it. Her own mother was a middle-aged mother who hated sweating more than she hated un-organic fruit, and she did yoga pretty much every day, so Ami considered herself a near expert on the matter. So when she was told that the Slytherin Head of House was to host a yoga session for the students after dinner, she had said a couple of rather rude things about yoga in disbelief at the dinner table rather loudly. A searing glare and some heated words from an older Slytherin student passing by, defending the Head of House had somehow managed to "convince" Ami to attend the session.

It was with a hung head and clenched jaw that Ami shuffled into the Rehearsal Room, finding a mat in the very back corner of the room. As someone who considered herself to be incredibly athletic, activities like yoga just never appealed to her. Yoga was her pre-sport warm-up, for Pete's sakes! But she couldn't deny the scientific benefits in stretching, so she might as well try her hardest and stretch out her muscles before she went to bed. She desperately tried to ignore any and all eye contact with everyone, even with the people she recognized, hoping to avoid the awkward conversation of why on earth she was in here.

With a stony glare, Ami shifted uncomfortably in her kneeling position on her mat as she watched Professor Jensen at the front of the room. Naturally being extremely flexible, she figured that this would be a breeze, and she wouldn't be all too surprised if she ended up falling asleep. Breathing rather shallowly, not really investing in this whole "breathing" thing, the Hufflepuff let her thoughts wander as the whole room breathed together for a minute. She wondered if she would still have time to finish her homework after this, and if Leo was still angrily scratching at her bedposts. Or maybe someone in her dorm had made the grave mistake of letting him out, and he was now terrorizing the poor students in the Common Room... Cecily and Amadea were probably right, Leo could be an absolute gremlin when he was in a bad mood.

Her attention flickered back to the front of the room as the Professor explained the first pose they were going to do. Hesitantly reaching for one of the pillows, she followed Jensen's instructions, making sure to move her limbs slowly and carefully, to avoid pulling or straining anything due to sudden movement. Rolling her body forward, she let her face hit the pillow and her arms stretch forward, feeling pretty much nothing. Huh, she was probably doing it wrong... Trying to push her left knee closer to the ground, she could feel something marginally like stretching, along with in her lower back. With naturally narrow hips, anything like this that forced your hips apart could sometimes hurt, but Ami had learned to stretch past that from a young age. This felt... this actually felt pretty good. Letting all her other thoughts fall away, Ami breathed properly this time, before switching legs. By the time the Slytherin Professor was ready to move on to the next pose, she was actually sort of enjoying the whole ordeal... not that she'd ever admit that to anyone.

Letting herself relax out of the Sleeping Swan pose, Ami had to resist the urge to laugh out loud at their next pose. A forward fold...? Well, if Nora said "Jump!", Ami's only response would be "How high?" Frankly, the amount of respect Ami held for the Slytherin Head of House was nearly embarrassing. If she had to choose, she would probably even say she respected Jensen more than Browne... although, it was sort of hard to respect a man you could have a pillow fight with in good conscience. Letting her body melt and relax, Ami folded at the hips, her torso and arms tumbling towards the ground gracefully. Each time she exhaled, she folded more and more, until she could feel her knuckles dragging across the ground. Surprisingly, she was stiffer than she remembered, recalling a time where she could bend over and place her palm flat on the ground with no problem at all. Maybe this yoga session was doing her some good, after all.

Following along with Professor Jensen's verbal instructions, as well as glancing up towards the front of the room every few seconds to make sure she was doing it correctly, Ami contorted her body into the pose. Ooh, she could feel the stretch in this one... Keeping her breathing steady and even, Ami started on her hands, but slowly transitioned to her forearms being flat against the ground. She could feel the stretch in her hips, clenching her jaw as she weathered the small pains. Come on! If she was going to do this whole yoga-schmoga thing, she might as well do it her way. And besides, after 40-ish seconds had passed, the pain had lessened, almost disappearing completely. That, Ami decided, felt heckin' amazing.

Ami raised her eyebrows, however, as Professor Jensen demonstrated the next pose with Professor Browne. Did... did this really count as yoga? It seemed more like a leg lift, than anything. Regardless, Ami turned to the wall behind her, lying down about 6 inches away from the wall. Slowly crawling her feet up the wall, she let her own muscles hold her legs up in the air, perpendicular to the ground like the Head of House had instructed (or, as far as she could tell, it was perpendicular). And once the time had passed, she slowly lowered her legs to the ground once more, before fully returning to her mat.

Ami legitimately had to stop herself from scoffing aloud at the next one, however, biting the inside of her cheek as to avoid any unwanted attention. Nonetheless, she kept whatever snark and complaining she had to herself as she felt her shoulder-blades digging into the floor, her hips raised towards the sky. It was an easy enough job to hold the position, although her shoulders were getting quite the workout, with all the pressure from her body weight directed towards her head. With one final breath, her hips hit the mat once more, and Ami sat up to see what was next.

... a forward fold. A pike, essentially. Well, whatever, she'd just have to push herself as much as possible on this one. With her legs flat out in front of her, and her toes pointed toward the sky, Ami's body began to fold in half once more, although this time without the aid of gravity. Her fingers walking lazily down the length of her legs, they found her toes soon enough. With another exhale, her hands had grasped her toes, so much so that her fingertips were touching the spot in her foot where her heel met her arch. Rocking just slightly, she let the sensation of pulling on her muscles absorb through her body, her nose pressed to her knees. With another exhale, she pushed further, ignoring the tears that pricked at the corners of her eyes. She couldn't remember the last time she'd stretched this deeply and thoroughly, even when she did martial arts nearly daily.

Maybe she'd have to explore this whole yoga-mimosa thing in her own time... not that she'd ever tell anyone. It was just a tad too embarrassing, a tad too passive to admit that yoga was an activity that truly helped her relax... a little too like her mother. Thus, it would just have to be her little secret.

Yoga was a way for Jill to recover from stress and anxiety.

Stress always overcame her. She couldn't do any strenuous exercise due to a blood clot that had formed in her lung. No greasy or oily food. No overpowering spices.

She watched as Ami entered the room. It was time to relax. And go to sleep.

First was tabletop. Like pie. Easy. She breathed as slowly as she could, and stopped when it hurt.

Pose after pose she watched. She placed the pillow under her back because exercises on the floor hurt her back. And then she fell into child's pose.

Rehearsal Room, Hogwarts
It had been a particularly stressful week for the first year Ravenclaw. Some difficult homework had kept him mostly holed up in the library where normally he would feel at home; but, when it was every night until curfew for a week the towering shelves and enforced quiet had lost its charm and Cassius was beginning to feel the fatigue.

"Just one more month," he thought to himself, a mixture of sadness that the year was coming to a close and relief that he would at least be free of excessive homework for a time.

Dinner that night was a welcome respite from his studies and he enjoyed chatting with his classmates at the Ravenclaw table. It was a change of pace in the boy's highly regimented schedule that allowed little time for socialization. Eating his last leg of quail as the meal began to wind down, he let out a sigh that soon he would be back to the tedium knowing more homework awaited him. To his relief, however, the Slytherin head announced an invitation to something different.

Sleep yoga? Cassius, like most youths, was of course familiar with yoga at least as a concept thanks mostly to muggle television. It was a thing adults did with a lot of bending at the gym. Could kids do it too? He wasn't too sure about the yoga but if it would help him sleep he figured it would be worth a shot.

Intrigued, Cassius made up his mind on the spot to attend and returned to the dormitories to change into more casual wear. At the designated hour, he arrived at the rehearsal hall and took his place amongst the other students, some of whom he recognized but most he didn’t. Seraphine he noticed from a few of his classes and offered her a slight smile in greeting.

"Good evening. Take a seat on any free mat and make yourself comfortable," the instructor said and Cassius did as he was told, finding one of the mats near from the front and center of the room. Lowering himself to the floor, he sat upright on the slight padding of the mat. It was not much but it was better than the hard floor he reasoned with himself.

Ever the dutiful student, he followed the teacher's instructions, first breathing in and then exhaling through the mouth. He closed his eyes and repeated the actions feeling somewhat... silly. Was he supposed to be feeling something? All he could hear was the out of sync breathing of the students around him. "I thought this was supposed to be peaceful," he thought to himself as he struggled to concentrate. Finally he was allowed to open his eyes.

If the breathing didn't relax him maybe the pillows would. Following the instructor's guidelines, he grabbed a pillow from the pile provided and returned to his mat. At least the sleeping swan seemed like something he would enjoy...

Nope. He followed the instructions to the letter, coiling his body into the desired shape but did so with difficulty. Flexibility was certainly not one of his strengths and it showed as he struggled to get into the pose. When he finally did, he felt it difficult to hold the position and wanted only to return to his original position. When he heard he would have to do it again but with the other side he almost missed the breathing exercises.

Having done both sides of the sleeping swan, Cassius was relieved to be able to uncoil himself and roll back into his upright position. That felt good, he had to admit as the tension was lessened on his muscles and his neck. He continued the roll until he was standing along with the others.

Cassius hoped the next pose was not as bad as the first and was relieved to find it so. This one he found less difficult, first spreading his feet apart and then reaching towards the ground. It reminded him of the stretches his cousins showed him how to do at home. While he could not reach his palms to the floor, he at least managed to touch his fingertips to the ground.

When instructed to, the first year exhaled, keeping the standing forward fold. He swayed very little and attempted to stifle a giggle as others in the class somewhat comically swayed to excess. What humor he felt disappeared however with the next pose. Moving his right foot so it was now parallel to his right hand with his knee took double the concentration of the previous pose. Now he looked silly, he thought, his embarrassment only lessened by the realization that everybody else would be in the same position as he. He found he was concentrating his breathing now without intending to, a consequence of the physical exertion, he reasoned. Yet, the concentration paid off as his hips did not turn.

Relieved this pose was over and now feeling thoroughly tired, he found the nearest wall for the next having rolled again into an upright position. Again Cassius lowered himself to the ground, this time with the wall giving his legs support as he lifted them perpendicular into position. His arms rested at the side of his body with palms facing upwards. When it was time for the others with partners to swap, Cassius simply held the pose finding it properly relaxing. Perhaps the sleep part of sleep yoga was finally coming into play, he mused.

Again he was wrong, at least to some degree. The next pose still had him on his back but this time he would feel the burn from his abdominal muscles as his core. The ten breaths could not come quickly enough and when finished his return to the comfort of the floor was less than gentle. Slightly labored breathing slowly gave way to more gentle breaths as he felt his body again relax.

The next pose he did as if it was a dream, his concentration waned and eyes drooped as his body's desire to sleep overcame his resolve to continue the lesson. A part of him would refuse to admit that it was the yoga that made him feel sleepy. That any sort of physical activity would have yielded the same results. Yet, he did have to admit that he felt better than he did before and when he did return to the dormitories sleep would find him easily.

Sera was reading the Witch Weekly for the eleventh time in the hallway -because she wanted to take another look at the gossip on the last page after dinner- as all the negative emotions came back to life. She was still in shock of being sorted into Hufflepuff, although some time had passed.. Hufflepuff wasn't such a bad place when she think of all the people she's ever met. They were all friendly and open to help. But the real problem was the young witch still couldn't explain it to her family. It was making her feel very very nervous.

All these pessimistic thoughts were scattered by the loud giggles of a group of students. When she looked at the coat of arms of the robes they were wearing, Sera could easily see that the students were Gryffindor. Maybe the third year? It was hard to say, but she was sure she'd seen them for the first time. But their conversation wasn't very.. engaging. Until the word Yoga is heard.

Sera learned that a sleep yoga event was being held when she purposely eavesdropped on students. But why didn't she hear it the whole time she was in the Great Hall? Oh, while reading The Witch Weekly over and over, the young girl had a habit of disconnecting from the outside world, usually. But the most important detail was that one of the organisers of the event was Professor Jensen!! -- Professor Jensen was one of the professors Sera felt closest to, as if she remembered her family when she looked at the woman, and that was creating a kind of happiness. Of course she couldn't miss an opportunity like this.

She chose the pink pyjama suit after having a slight indecision about what to wear. In fact, she was supposed to follow the mother's general advice and go with the cream.. But her mother wasn't here, and if she wore pink once, no one would notice, would they? And the quality of the fabric was quite high. Fearing to waste more time, Sera quickly but not running, because that would be against school rules, did go to the Rehearsal Room.

----

The room was almost full and the professor was already talking. When Sera looked at Jensen in a slightly agitated manner, she met with a warm approval. This warm approval made Sera's little heart feel full and created a smile on her face. But that smile didn't last long because she couldn't see a pink and empty mat! All she could see was one close mat, which had an orange colour... She chose to accept her fate, as it would not be wise to wander among the students to find a pink mat.

It was quite a disappointment to be doing sleep yoga on an orange mat, but she couldn't go back now. Sera sat and began to focus her attention on the professor as she glanced at the mat in a dissatisfied way. It was soft, comfy.. still orange. But suddenly she realised another student was looking towards her. That was Cassius. She had seen him in class a few times, and they got along well, as the young wizard was at least as chatty as Sera. As she intended to wave and say hello to Cassius with excitement, she came across the judgmental look of another student. Maybe she should have been a little more calm..

With a slight sadness on her face, the young girl closed her eyes listening to the instructions, which felt interesting, but also pleasant. Inhale.. Exhale.. A refreshing energy was spreading throughout Sera's body, and it was a joy to focus on her own breathing. Well others could be heard, but it was a tiny detail. Keeping the focus on her breath, she realised for the first time, since arriving at Hogwarts that she did not feel any anxiety so far. It was miraculous.

Shortly afterwards everyone was told to open their eyes. As soon as she opened her eyes, Sera could feel different because the environment she was in seemed more alive, vibrant, as if it was a reborn effect for her. The name of their first pose was the Sleeping Swan. That elegant name was enough to excite her even more.

As Professor Jensen showed, she took one of the soft pillows from the large pile and returned to her mat. She was trying to watch and copy the young woman's every move. How else could she have done it successfully? Sera bent her left knee, carefully bringing the sole of her left foot to her right inner thigh. Watching the professor carefully she extended her right leg behind her. When she looked around, she noticed that some students had difficulty doing this position. But luckily her own body was quite flexible and she was able to do the position without much difficulty. it was the perks of living the disciplined life that her mother had designated for years.

As she slowly began her breathing routine, Sera was having a little difficulty keeping her body in that position, but she had no intention of giving up. The young witch continued to maintain her position by focusing on her breath, and was happy for her success at the start of each new routine. Inhale.. Exhale.. Inhale... Exhale.. With completing the ninth routine, she switched her legs and again continued until the ninth routine.

Oh it was a bit exhausting but Sera felt energised enough to ignore fatigue. She waited a little longer to hear the professor's new instructions while she intended to stand up straightly. So instead of standing up directly, what they needed to do was roll back up. Easy. Sera did it nimbly, as the professor said, and realized how relaxed her body was actually. It was as if the blood flow in her body was fresher and more dynamic.

Shortly afterwards they were continuing with the second pose. Sera listened carefully to what the professor had to say, again trying to keep all the details in her memory. She straightened her legs and bent forwards, trying to reach the floor. And actually, that was pretty cool. Until she saw a furry thing standing in front of her. It was a sudden shock! Sera screamed slightly with panic when something appeared in front of her when she didn't expect it. But when she saw that it was a cat, she rolled her eyes. She started whispering and trying to get the cat to go. '' You bad cat! Get away from me and go back to your owner!'' That reaction didn't seem to work.. The cat kept looking with prying eyes. ''What? I'm not your owner.'' After a while, the cat started walking towards someone else. Why did they bring a cat to sleep yoga? When Sera looked at the professor again, she realised they were about to move on to another pose.

But she didn't want to continue yoga anymore. Because when she was scared, the young girl remembered that she missed her mother, and the relaxing effect of yoga was completely gone. As she realized she was about to cry, she forced herself to hold on a little longer. Crying in front of so many people would only cause scandal. It was something her parents would never have wanted. Sera quietly walked away from her mat and left the rehearsal room.

Open to any interactions, just owl me! :)
Calvin wasn't ever really the sort of boy to take much interest in yoga. He was active; spending lots of time running around in the grounds. Before Hogwarts, he'd never even dream of partaking in such an activity, seeing it as too boring to catch his eye. However, with recent events, Cal found himself stressed to no end. With hags attacking the school, the looming threat of exams, and the fact that the year was coming to a close, the boy had experienced similar sleep struggles to the professor leading the event. His schedule was out of whack, and desperate times called for desperate measures. He needed to calm his nerves if he wanted to end his school year on a good note after all.

After completing his meal and making a pit stop at his dorm to change, the young Ravenclaw boy trudged into the room wearing athletic shorts and a loose T-shirt. Calvin looked like he'd just left a P.E. class rather than a yoga instruction, but that's what he was more prepared for when he'd packed anywho. The boy found a mat in a secluded enough corner of the room, and patiently awaited Professor Jensen to begin the instruction. For once in his life he didn't have any overt need to be social or anything of the sort, trying to emulate the serene, zen environment that the professors had so carefully cultivated for the students' enrichment. He looked a bit bored, eyes darting around the room as he took in his relatively unfamiliar surroundings, and maybe a bit clueless too. Cal was a daydreamer by trade, and if not for the professor's words he might've been content to just sit there on the mat for quite some time, totally uninterrupted.

Snapping to attention once instruction began, Calvin closed his eyes and attempted to breathe in and out in time with the professor's calls. He opened on eye intermittently, sneaking a peak at those who surrounded him at the moment, before quickly shutting them to avoid being caught. Was the boy supposed to be this nervous about... Yoga? Probably not. But still, he was only about 12, and far from overly coordinated. Sure, he was athletic, but Calvin was the type of athlete to run and tackle someone to the ground, not the type to move elegantly and with precision. What if he made a fool of himself?! He recognized many of his classmates in the room of course, people from his house and otherwise! The stakes were high.

However, as Calvin continued with the deep breathing exercises, trying to focus intently on the professor's voice to avoid thinking about his fears of embarrassment, his worries slowly faded into the backdrop, only to fade into obscurity shortly after. His classmates had certainly seen him fail plenty of times throughout the year, and though some had inevitably laughed, the majority had helped rather than teased. He didn't need to fear any mockery in the space, he felt oddly at home, in fact. So, instead of continuing to worry and experience neuroticism, Calvin let quiet confidence take the place of his concerns as the lesson progressed.

The first position the class was meant to do was the Sleeping Swan. Though Calvin had absolutely no experience with yoga, he could at least watch and emulate what he saw. Moving the pillow into position as he instructed, he outstretched his arms and rested them on it. Stretching his right leg back, extending it to be straight for all intents and purposes, the boy also drew his left knee closer to his chest. Calvin leaned into the pose as needed, concentrating on both his position and maintaining his breathing. Oddly enough, though he usually struggled with keeping attention in traditional classrooms, the more kinesthetic nature of this activity was much easier for him to focus on. Breathe in... Breathe out... Once he'd reached an appropriate number of breaths he alternated his legs. Calvin was feeling relaxed, so serene that gentle lakes in deep, forested valleys sequestered by a snowy mountainside would be downright envious of his tranquility.

"Achoo!"

Well, maybe not that calm, evidently. Still, the show must go on, and so must the lesson. Calvin rolled into position before standing, following Professor Jensen's instructions. He listened intently, nodding as she mentioned stretching. It was important for any physically strenuous activity after all, he knew that from his fairly extensive sports experience! Calvin moved his feet apart as instructed, paying close attention as he attempted to mirror the professor's movements. Brows furrowed slightly as an expression of deep concentration, he followed her instructions, moving into the Standing Forward Fold. He leaned over, reaching for the floor slightly, finger tips just a few millimeters shy of contact. Calvin wasn't exactly overly flexible, he just had the advantage of a longer wingspan than most boys his age. Once again he returned to his breathing, letting the tension leave his muscles and his mind as he did so. As he relaxed further, Calvin was actually able to successfully touch the ground, which he quietly celebrated to himself. "Nice..." he sighed, whispering so as to avoid disturbing anyone in his immediate vicinity.

Next was the Lizard Pose, another yoga position good for stretching. Calvin got down on a knee, starting in a lunge before adjusting his position. He rested his forearms and palms on the ground in front of him, and slowly stretched his leg back. Still, his breathing persisted of course, deep but not labored. With the gentle pace of it all, the boy was growing drowsier by the minute. In all honesty, Calvin didn't even want to fight it, comfortable enough with the serene environment to doze off right then and there. The boy switched legs as instructed, continuing with his rhythmic inhales and exhales.

As Professor Jensen acknowledged their progress, though Calvin was aware that the statement was blanket praise for the whole group, he couldn't help but feel contented by the sentiment that he was doing well. Upon hearing that a partner could be needed for the next pose, the drowsy boy decided he was in no shape to be making new friends at the moment. He was half asleep, after all! Calvin watched as the Up Against the Wall pose was demonstrated, and got into position as instructed. This pose was fairly simple, laying at a right angle with his feet in the air, but no less enjoyable or relaxing.

Once complete, Calvin moved away from the wall and laid on his back. He was dangerously close to falling asleep right then and there, but he wanted to continue the lesson, and that desire was the only thing keeping the boy awake. He craned his head up to watch the next position, the Before Bed Bridge, and then did as instructed. Pushing his hips and core up, Cal got into the pose without too much trouble. His shoulders and arms remained on the ground, as he was told. As a fairly strong boy, he was able to hold the pose for the eight breaths with ease, and once he reached the threshold he was instructed to meet he relaxed back down onto the mat.

Sitting up back into position, Calvin moved into the Seated Forward Fold once prompted to do so. Without the aid of gravity, he found he wasn't able to lean forward as far as he was able when he had been doing the position standing. He reached for his toes, unable to touch them without forcing the stretch, and held the pose until told to release. Sighing in relief, Cal sat back up, leaning back on his palms. The boy rubbed his eyes and yawned, once again betraying his sleepiness, though he'd likely still fight to remain awake.

Interacting with @Opeila Seilun & @Alan Noble
While Griseldis was still waiting for her Ravenclaw friend to appear, she could sense that there was someone else who quietly sat next to her. She turned to see who it was and was a bit surprised to see it was the young Slytherin girl who she once met at the Corridors months ago. She shared cauldron cakes with her and even had a very nice conversation together. Although she didn't really expect to see her, she greeted the young brunette, "Hey Opeila, nice to see you again, it's been a while...and of course, I don't mind at all." she reassured her that she could site next to her with a sincere smile. Opeila was wearing a very normal pajama on but it did look quite comfy though. She politely asked her how she was doing and so she replied to her, "I'm doing fine so far, just a bit busy as usual you know...being Prefect and all, then there are exams coming up soon." Now having three new Professors, and before she could have the chance to get to know them, the announcement of the exams of Potions and Astronomy really kind of drained her, well...especially, potions, since it was still not her favorite subject but the new Potions Professor looked younger than most professors in Hogwarts and had a Polish accent. Handsome, but didn't seem to care too much of his own appearance cause he always looked so unruly when he entered the classroom. The Astronomy Professor, however, was certainly an interesting one, not only she was a native American, she seemed very mysterious and Griseldis was always curious about her. As for the new Care of Magical Creatures Professor, aside from knowing the name, she still hadn't encountered him personally so she needed to wait until she was officially a 3rd-year student in order to be able to take the Care of Magical Creature class.

Just then, the Gryffindor heard soft but quick footsteps coming towards her direction. Looking to the other side, she saw it was Alan in a bright green turtle-like onesie with black sandals on. He wasn't simply wearing a turtle onesie, it was a character called Michaelangelo from a cartoon "Ninja Turtles". She did watch that show before but wasn't a huge fan of it but seeing Alan being so enthusiastic about this cartoon, it was nice to know and see that he has something he was being passionate about aside from potions. "Alan! You're finally here!", she beamed and quickly welcomed him to take the mat beside her. The usually timid boy still seemed nervous around people around them even though it wasn't really that crowed in here. Griseldis greeted Alan with a gentle smile, replied him back with a soft whisper as well, "I'm glad to see you made it here too, Alan. Your Ninja Turtle onesie looks really wicked by the way.", it was the first time seeing Alan wearing in his own pajamas and Griseldis might not want to say it out loud but she honestly thought it was adorable the way he wore his onesie.

Shifting back her focus on Professor Jensen and followed her instructions doing the first Sleeping Yoga pose, she almost fell asleep cause it did help her muscles to relax a lot. The voice of their Professor immediately brought Griseldis back from her drowsiness, she then saw her doing the next ones and so she did the next three Sleeping Yoga poses with ease. Every pose she did, almost made her drowsy and sometimes she thought how Alan and Opeila were doing so far. Hopefully, Sleep Yoga helped them to relax and forget all the worries they had on their minds.
