Back to home, Harumi had to admit she missed home and all her family and friends there, Isela and her mother especially, but now that she's back, she's faced with a different—or perhaps it's actually similar—problem, she misses her friends at Hogwarts, the lessons, and the activities, that place really has a way of making you love it. The promise of meeting some of her friends some time during the summer break eased her up admittedly, but she has to manage until then, little did she now, this summer would be a turning point in her life.
----The very first day back, Harumi spent all day telling her mother about all her adventures, the woman was surprised to hear about the girl becoming a quidditch captain, her mother never knew the girl was the sporty kind, which is true, the girl did dislike sports besides running and a few others, but her curiosity always won, and now she will have to at least pretend to be the sporty kind. "A headliner reporter? Now that's more like you, you always loved observing, that's a helpful talent for reporters." The woman claimed. Harumi couldn't tell if her mother was proud, the woman mysteriously looked through the kitchen cabinets with no expression worth reading.
----Naturally, it was now the mother's turn to share the news from the neighbourhood and home whatsoever, the girl was absent since last September after all, she stubbornly refused to return during breaks, that's 10 months without seeing her mother, their only means of communication were owls, so not much could be told through it. "So she's still sick? But that's ridiculous, it seemed like she merely had a bad bout of illness last time I saw her, how can it escalate so quickly? Did she see another doctor? Maybe the first one wasn't experienced enough." The girl couldn't understand how someone can go from being the healthiest person she's ever seen, to no more than a fatigued person relying on others for basic needs, no wonder she didn't see her father today, he must still be by her side, the man did care about his sister deeply. "We didn't just visit one or two, your father had us take her to 7 different doctors, and all of them came to the same conclusion, grade 4—or was it 3?— brain cancer. Poor Herthya had gotten tired of tests by then, the muggle doctors apparently opened up her head to take a piece of her brain? Seriously I don't understand muggle medicine, but they seem confident enough about it." Her mother explained as she chopped some vegetables for lunch, today on the menu tomatoe soup and garlic bread. "That's called a biopsy... For diagnosis, they need to see the cells under a microscope sometimes... I think..." The girl pointed out thoughtfully before returning to her silence, the thought of her fierce and strong-willed aunt being overpowered by illness seemed almost like a prank, that woman could get hit by a car and then stand up to argue with the driver, can that kind of a person really become dependent on others, Harumi couldn't imagine it, in some way it was painful, the fact that so much about you and your life can change while you have no power over it.
----"Your father won't be back tonight, your aunt refused to stay in the hospital—very classic of her—so she's home, and your father is taking care of her today." The mother's voiced made Harumi return to reality. "Wouldn't it be better if he hired a nurse? There's only so much he can do without experience." Harumi inquired, she also wanted to add that he should be at work because there's definitely bills that won't pay themselves, but she refrained from it, no sense saying it when her words change nothing. "We hired 3 different ones, but they tend to leave because of her attitude, a fourth one should be arriving tomorrow, I pray they have high tolerance" Her mother said in a bitter tone, Harumi guessed she was the one mostly taking care of Herthya rather than her father. "yeah, I can see that... How is coco doing by the way?" Harumi changed the topic to the cat that lived in the neighbourhood, the very one she saved all those years ago when her magic decided to reveal itself. "She's been as Lazy as ever, probably because of her children, she gave birth to 4 kittens recently you see" The mother explained. "That's awesome! I'll find Isela and go play with them tomorrow." Harumi announced, kittens are always so cute, her friend will be very excited to see them.

The next morning started like any other, Harumi woke up earlier than her mother, or so she thought, and ate a quick breakfast, a simple egg sandwich with ketchup, a strange combination but it suited her taste buds just fine. She packed her backpack with snacks and some muggle money, planing to go to the nearest grocery store and buy some tuna for coco, or maybe some other cat food, she also brought a board game Isela liked, they could go to the park and play it there for the rest of the day.
----Before leaving the house, Harumi left a note on the fridge "I'm going to meet with Isela, I'll be back after lunch.", she wanted to add that she had her phone in case her mother needed to call, but the girl doubted, even after all this time being married to a muggle, her mother would know how to use it, the woman relied on magic too much in Harumi's opinion, the television that stopped working multiple times without any physical reason would know that very well.
----The girl started her journey to her friend's house right away, and it wasn't very long, just a couple of blocks away. Upon arriving, Harumi knocked on the door, and as if waiting for the knock, the door was opened immediately by none other than her best friend in the muggle world, Isela. Harumi guessed her mother had mentioned to the girl that Harumi be back in September, the girl could have been waiting since the other day by that door knowing her.
----Harumi asked her if she wants to go hang out with her in the park, Isela agreed and quickly went to tell her mom whilst also grabbing her phone and a small bag. "Oh and mom told me Coco has little kittens now, did you know that?" Harumi mentioned. "Yeah! She stays by the supermarket, I think a worker there has been feeding her." Isela replied while tying her shoelaces. "Great, let's play with her before going to the park!"
-----The day went exactly as expected, they played with the kittens, fed Coco some treats and then went to the park, played games, and chatted while swinging, a perfectly normal day, one that is not much different than her days before Hogwarts. Harumi couldn't have guessed her day was going to take an unexpected turn. She was back by 3 o'clock, expecting to find her mother in the kitchen or in the living room, neither proved true. After a quick tour in the house and a couple of yelled "Mom?"s, Harumi came to the logical conclusion anyone would come to, she must have gone to visit the neighbours, so the girl decided to go visit Murni and ask about her mom, the cat lady was one step ahead though. Becauese the door was suddenly opened, Harumi assumed it was her mother, but she was mistaken, it was not her mother but auntie Murni. "oh, you're back, dear. Your mother has been at the hospital since dawn, she left the keys with me." The woman explained noticing that Harumi must be confused.
-----The woman explained that Ema had received a phone call telling her that Herthya's condition had worsened,—how did her mother manage to answer the phone, Harumi has no idea—so she rushed to the hospital and left the house's keys with Murni to come tell Harumi and check on her when she wakes up. Ema has always treated Herthya like an older sister, even though the latter might have been hostile towards her sometimes, which never failed to baffle Harumi, the girl had a big heart, but she would avoide those who hurt her. Murni continues saying that that came at noon to check on her thinking the girl would want to sleep in after all the time she spent in a boarding school, but she only found the note so she left and decided to come back later.
-----Harumi's mother wasn't back by dinner, so Murni—who might as well be Harumi's godmother—sent her some tuna sandwiches, Harumi couldn't tell if the woman just eats this for dinner, or if she didn't have enough food so decided to use her cats', the tuna was delicious though, so she's not complaining, Murni buys her cats human-grade food only anyway, she treats her beloved cats like babies. After eating dinner, the girl kept watchinng some show until she fell asleep, her parents probably found a place to stay close by the hospital or something, she'll know tomorrow, if they don't return she'll try calling them.
