Books
Mary saw towering ladders and shelves full of books the second she walked in. She froze, taking in the floating paper, and found a table to work at. Finally she let herself into a book, surrounded by statues of famous wizarding people and overflowing pots of plants that made it look more like the herbology rooms with books. She groped in her bag, finding her parchment, peacock feather quill and her black ink. Getting up, she got whichever books looked relevant although the thing is, she was still alone. People looked at her, but she couldn't find the courage to smile or say hi. She stared at the window, giving her a clear view of the courtyard where people were wandering and grinning at each other. She saw someone in her dorm who was standing with a few friends laughing over something. Shaking her head, she bent down again and started working, the glass windows throwing patterns all over her work. The sound of scratching quills around her made her feel calm and Mary smiled. Her own quill joined the symphony around her and the occasional rustle of books and parchment made a good beat. Spells were being thrown around in other classrooms around the school and she could hear one. Accio! She could remember that one was the summoning charm. She wanted to start lessons immediately but she was still in the library, still over books, and she found herself writing down her own thoughts. With a sigh, she restarted the entire paragraph from scratch.
