The day that had been awaited by Elisa for a long time had finally arrived. The summer duelling matches; it was something she'd looked forward to for months, the summer camp an escape route to get away from everything that was going on at home, from the overall presence of Orpheus to the overall lack of presence of her mother during the holidays. At least her dad would've been proud of how far she'd come if he had been here.
Elisa slowly shook her head as she drove away the thoughts of her life, before it could ruin her mood for the impending duel, an event that would be her first moderation after claiming the position of Captain.
She finally reached the stop as she got a view of whom she'd be dealing with; all of them already in place, as she finally announced," Welcome to the 2nd Match of the Summer Duels, where we've got Beauxbâtons versus a mixed team between Ilvermorny and Durmstrang." Her voice came out loud, though the effort to make her usual monotonous voice seem cheerful was definitely not working, but nor like anyone'd remember it, once the game began.
"From Beauxbâtons, we have Phelan Emile, Alejandros Espinosa, Violette Corbeau, and from the Durmstrang-Ilvermorny team are Dylan Astor, Emmeline Harris, and Harvey Dunn." She added, trying her best to pronounce the diverse names without messing them up with her accent, which had a habit of screwing up in the field of pronunciation. It was something that'd landed her in various embarrassing situations, mainly due to the complexity of how differently different cultures pronounced certain names and words.
She slowly looked at the two teams once more as she spoke, "I hope all of you are well-versed with the rules. I won't tolerate any kind of illegal spells or any fights that involve your fist and not your wand. If everyone has understood, get your wands ready, set, go!"

| —— | Why did fate have to be such a bastard? Of all the duellists at summer camp of course he ended up with folks from Ilvermorny. Not only that but the very guy he got expelled for almost hurting! The idiot left the encounter with his werewolf form without so much as a scratch, but still Harvey had been in a state of turmoil since then. The other teammate was an incoming first year he hadn’t even bothered to ask the name of. Planning for the duel could best be described in one word: awkward. That was at least how he felt it on the inside. On the outside however he threw snide remarks and quips just about as often as the others blinked. But now the day for the duel was here. He stepped up and mostly tuned out the referee talking about the rules and such. The more important thing to do was sizing up their competition. He turned halfway to his teammates with a lazy smirk and all the confidence of a peacock strutting around. «Don’t make a mess of yourselves, yeah?» Bold of him to say, especially since Astor had been duelling for way longer than he had. He pulled out his wand. Since he got it this summer it had begun sprouting leaves, as wands made of yew usually did. He found it sort of hopeful, so he let them be. Gripping his wand firmly he got into a dueling stance, ready to go. | —— |

Of course. Of all the people to be paired up with, it was Harvey. The kid who had lured him into a trap all for what? Curiosity? Questions? What was so wrong with questions when all he wanted to know was what it was like being a werewolf. He had never asked to be actually dragged into a real sighting he had somehow managed to escape unscathed. Not even a scratch on his body. He had been lucky. Very lucky.
Dylan had expected to never see the kid again after he had been expelled, but of course he did not have great luck. At least there was another teammate to separate them. She was an incoming first year. A girl Dylan had not met yet, but by the end of the duel, he was sure he would know the girl.
"Hi. I'm Dylan. And you are?" He asked her politely before he turned his attention to Harvey.
"Now you, look here. Behave for once, alright? I get it. We don't get along, and that's whatever, but if we're going to have any chance at winning, we need to work as a team."
Dylan didn't want to say it and definitely did not want to work with this kid, but alas, it was what it was. He could deal with it later.

| == | This was it. Finally, Violette's first official duel. She had been looking forward to this all year. There's no better way to let off steam than by shooting spells left and right. Besides, the beginning of her summer holiday sucked. This was a word she would never let anybody hear come out of her mouth, but it's true. Forced to be with family. Urgh. She got goosebumps thinking about it. Now, she was duelling alongside other Beauxbatons students. She vaguely knew one of them, both had joined the school in the same year. The other one was a bit more of a mystery. Looking over the other team, Violette realised they could easily take them. The girl was - unfortunately - her cabin-mate at summer camp, but aside from that, she was unknown to the seer, just as the other opponents. None of them looked especially threatening to the French witch. Violette pulled her perfectly curled hair out of her face, slowly turning it into a ponytail before getting into the right stance. "This will be an easy win", Violette said in French, smirking. | == |

Another summer camp, another duel, another team.
Phelan had never formally met his teammates this year, or his opponents. He nodded to one of his teammates who was already here- a blond girl presumably a few years younger than him who certainly seemed confident in their team's ability to win.
"Hello- my name is Phelan." He said to her in French. The boy thought suddenly how much his French had improved since his first duel and his first year at school. Despite his best efforts to reject France, he had lived there for four years. He was beginning to sound like it.
Phelan smirked at her remark. The boy was beginning to think of himself as a more experienced duelist. He knew that confidence was not always enough to make a duel go your way. Last year, for instance, Phelan's team of measly third years was pitted against a team with a far more experienced seventh year. They had tried their best, but the power just wasn't there. He guessed this girl didn't have much experience herself, but he decided not to say anything more.
Pulling his wand from his pocket, he gripped it firmly. When he was ready, he said quietly, "May the best team win."

For his first-ever summer camp duel, Alejandros was nearly late because he was hiding. Hiding in his ridiculous, chaotic cabin (that he maybe secretly loved) and wondering how bad it would be to just not show up. Really bad, was the conclusion he talked himself into. Owls he didn't want to receive and glares he didn't want to stomach. He might disappoint everyone anyway, but he should at least try.
So he was here. Put-together at first glance, on closer inspection Ros was looking at little green, literally. It was faint enough to be dismissed as nausea, an accurate enough reflection of the squirm of butterflies in his gut, but unnatural in reality. Usually when he felt anything this intensely, he tried to disappear, to duck out of a room and let his emotions weather him until they'd smoothed. Instead he stepped up onto the duelling piste, wand in a stranglehold, trying to repeat incantations in his head over the distraction of all this noise. He glanced at his teammates only briefly. They were both better than him, definitely. Phelan had experience and Violette had confidence, of which he had neither, and Phelan kind of scared him (who didn't?). « Bonne chance. » Good luck He couldn't get his voice very loud, and cleared his throat after. His teammates probably didn't even need good luck, but he sure did.

Elisa barely got a second to close her mouth after announcing the commencement of the match, as various sparks and spells escaped the wands, targeted at each other. Both teams had skillful players; at least they seemed as if they knew their spells and rules right, unlike some of the Hogwarts students whose unofficial duels she'd moderated months earlier, for whom even muttering an incantation right was a huge feat.
Her eyes constantly moved around the game, gazing at the various spells used, action, and the techniques; it didn't take long until the first injuring spell took place; a shot was an incendio duo by Phelan as he set the Durm kid aflame; it was tactical, almost perfect to her eyes, but her attention was pulled by a minor move of revenge taken by Dylan as he hit the older Beauxbaton student with a slowing charm, decreasing Phelan's speed, that'd been his major advantage at first.
Elisa saw it before anyone as Alejandro cast an obscuro on Dylan, hence blindfolding the guy and ending the series of revenge, as yet another obstacle for the mixed-schools team was formed after Phelan's slowing charm effect.
Harvey, as tactically as he could, cast at Violette, who'd previously screwed up an easy spell, thereby hindering her movement. On the other hand stood Emmeline, she too failing at her spell-casting, yet Elisa personally saw her as the much luckier one who hadn't been targeted yet, but the duel was still young, and no one could predict what would occur next.

| —— | He had duelled before. Unofficial ones of course, but still. He had not anticipated spells to be fired off so quickly. They had barely gotten the start signal before he was hit by flames as big as he was. He stumbled back a bit, instinct taking over as he tried to put them out by patting at them. Of course it was that dirtbag who had thrown it at him. He let lose a string of crude language in a combination of English and Russian in a level and tone that said clearly what he thought of the situation, even if the boy didn’t understand any of it. «…And I bet you couldn’t even pour piss out of a boot with the instructions written on the heel!» His tirade finished off. To see that Astor got in a bit of revenge was at least a small comfort. It sort of surprised him, but they were supposed to be a team. So he put it out of his mind. His gaze kept jumping from person to person, while still trying to put out the flames. In his attempt of doing so, he managed to narrowly evade a knockback jinx being thrown his way. He focused in on the only girl on the opposite team, the guilty party for throwing the spell at him. She seemed like a proper stuck up someone. «Hey, PRINCESS!» Not one of his more clever nicknames, but it would have to do for a distraction. He fired off his spell right after. «Impedimenta! When it hit, he couldn’t hold back the smirk that was spreading. That was until he remembered he was still aflame. | —— |

Just like that, the duel had begun. Phelan's spell shot forth with every ounce of intention he possessed, and sure enough it stuck its target.
The Durmstrang boy did not take this well at all. Phelan didn't catch much of his opponent's angry rant but at the last bit, he felt his blood begin to boil. For gods sake, it was only a duel. Who did this kid think he was?
Phelan attempted to control himself, but he was already too angry for it to do much good. Reining in his emotions had never been the boy's strong suit.
"Afraid of a little fire, Dunn?" He taunted. "Go, prick thy face and over-red thy fear, thou lily-livered boy." Not a Phelan Emile original, but sometimes there was just no way to say it but in the words of the Bard.
