11 THE HOUSE OF BLUES.

Image posted by the member
The House of Blues, despite its name, is more like a mansion. Both Skylar's parents possess quite a bit of wealth, allowing them to maintain this grand residence. Here is where Skylar spent her childhood...
x
THE ENTRANCE. When entering the House of Blues, you would be greeted by high iron gates. The walls and gates around the mansion are quite tall, due to the fact it is situated near the muggle side of London. It is also magically enchanted to prevent muggles and threats from entering. If a muggle does happen to enter the magical residence, a mystical glamour will make the place appear like a normal country house. But, when invited guests other magic users enter, the grand gates will swing open as if by magic. What will greet them first is the front courtyard, where grand statues and beautiful flower beds will fill their vision. The drive curves down low, with sculpted hedges and trimmed flowers flanking the entrance. Marble statues of mythical figures stand quietly on either side, watching over the entrance. Ahead, the Blue Estate is visible. Though it towers over the courtyard with its grand structure, it still has a warm and inviting atmosphere to it. Broad steps lead into the mansion, where large double doors will also swing open through magic.

FIRST FLOOR. When you enter the mansion, the first thing that will greet you is the impressive entrance hall. Tall pillars and elegant statues stand on either side, trailing up to the intricate patterns on the ceiling above. A grand chandelier hangs from the top, its warm glow catching the polished marble floor. On the walls either side of you are large, double doors. Each leading to its corresponding wing. The left doors lead to the left wing, and the right doors to the right wing.

In the left wing, you would notice it is more quiet. The left wing is more for the residents of the house and important tasks. There is a library, an office, and a music room. The grand library is made with rich, dark wood, with warm lamp lights to give it a cozy vibe. Its shelves stretch upward towards the ceiling, filled with books that whisper knowledge. Skylar would often come here and enjoy late nights with her father, reading books of old and stories of the past. A ladder rests against one of the walls, in case they ever needed to grab a book on the higher shelves. However, wizards being wizards, they would often just use the levitating charm. Near the fireplace is a nice cluster of comfortable arm chairs, allowing them to either read or have quiet discussions.

Beyond this, there is a private study where Skylar's parents work at home. Papers are neatly arranged on a dark wooden desk, and the window by its side offers soft lighting.

Nearby, there is a smaller music room where Skylar would practice her violin. There is also a grand piano in the center, where her mother would play when she could not sleep.

In the right wing, the mood brightens again. Here, the rooms feel open and welcoming, designed for gatherings and tea parties. There is a living room, a dining room, and at the end there is this sunroom — which is kind of like a greenhouse, but more for tea time than gardening. The formal living room is filled with soft light streaming through tall windows, with elegant curtains draped around it. A fireplace is in the center, offering warmth and coziness on a cold, winter day.

Past the living room is the dining room. The table is magically enchanted to be able to change its size depending on the guests. If there are many guests, it will enlarge itself. But when it's just Skylar and her parents, it remains nice and small, generous but not overwhelming.

Next to the dining room, or dining hall, if you want to get fancy, is the kitchen. House elves would mill about, cleaning and cooking. They are well-treated and live quite comfortably, with living quarters dedicated to them specifically. Skylar would often pop into the kitchen to say hi, as well as grab a sweet treat. The house elves adore Skylar due to her bubbly personality and also because she loves their cooking.

Further along, there is a sunroom where Charlotte would often paint in. It is brightly illuminated due to its clear walls. Plants and fairy lights hang overhead, with a few comfortable seating here and there.

Back into the entrance hall, you will be met with another opening right in front of you. Its tall arch reveals a ballroom within. Next to the opening are twin staircases on either side. They sweep upwards to the second floor of the mansion, which we will venture to later. But for now, we shall go straight ahead, into the grand ballroom that awaits us.

The ballroom is a vast, open space designed for movement and gathering. The ceiling rises high overhead, detailed with delicate molding, while tall windows and doors at the far end offer a view of the garden. Elegant lights shine along the walls, and will illuminate the room when night comes. The floor beneath is large, meant for dancing, music, and all the parties Skylar's parents host.
x

x
SECOND FLOOR. Now we return back to the entrance hall, where we shall take the stairs and be greeted with the second floor. As you ascend the grand staircase, you will reach the upper gallery. The second floor feels more private, the grandeur still present but softened into something quieter. It is where Skylar and her family rest, and where guests may stay overnight.

At the end of this level lies the primary suite, positioned to take full advantage of the garden beyond. It is the room where Charlotte and Andrius will go rest after a long day. The bedroom itself is spacious and serene, with light filtering through tall windows and soft fabrics that swish with the breeze. A dressing room and a luxurious bath connect to the room, and a sitting area offers a place for the parents to unwind. A balcony or set of doors opens outward, allowing the outside air and distant sound of water to drift in.

Next to her parents' bedroom is Skylar's room. Her room is spacious, but you can tell it is more touched with childlike whimsy than the rest of the house. While the whole house radiates grandeur and quiet elegance, Skylar's room feels more homey and comfortable. Her walls were painted light blue, with small hand-drawn clouds adorning them. A plush white carpet covers her floor, giving it the feeling of walking on clouds. She has a large bed at the center of the room, it's large size offering comfort and promising a good night's sleep. Stuffed animals, art supplies, and half-read books make themselves comfortable in Skylar's room. If you look closely, small little doodles can be found on one of the walls. Courtesy of a six-year-old Skylar who wanted to draw herself flying on a broom, and decided the wall was an appropriate canvas for her to use. Her parents did not want to get rid of their daughter's master piece though, so it is still there to this day.

x
Along the wings, additional bedrooms line the corridors, each thoughtfully proportioned and filled with light. They share a consistent sense of refinement but vary subtly in character, some facing the front courtyard, others the gardens. Between them, smaller rooms appear, such as a writing room, a quiet upstairs lounge, etc. The hallway itself functions as a gallery, its walls adorned with art, the path gently guiding you from one end of the house to the other. Skylar would often run through the mansion, looking for secret hide-outs and hidden pathways. She eventually made a particular room at the end of the hallway her little rabbit hole (in honor of her favorite animal). She would store her unfinished art pieces there, as well as some snacks she snagged from Merlin knows where. Her parents would pretend they did not know where Skylar sneaks off to, but it is hard not to notice. Skylar did, after all, steal a whole stack of pillows and blankets to make a fort.

THE GARDEN. Now we shall descend the stairs once more to the first floor. Passing through the ballroom again, we move toward the doors at the very end. Stepping out onto the terrace, the space opens fully and reveals the beautiful Gardens of Eden.

The garden, also called the Garden of Eden, stretches out all the way to the edge of the woods. A grand fountain stands in the center, its water catching the sunlight as it flows down, down, down. Winding paths curve through the garden like a maze, leading towards different pergolas decorated with nature's gift. Marble statues of Greek figures and creatures are scattered around the place, giving the the garden an extra flare. Seating areas are tucked out of the main view..
x

x
However, the interesting thing about the Garden of Eden is that it slowly becomes more... free-spirited, in a way. As you walk further into the garden, the design reveals itself; formal at first, then gradually more relaxed. The paths become more inviting, the plants grow a little more wild, and the sound of the fountain fades into the background. It’s a space meant not just to be seen, but to be experienced slowly, where every turn offers a slightly different perspective of the house you’ve just walked through. It is easy to lose oneself in this incredible display of nature, and the experience really opens one's eyes.

12 BACKGROUND & CHILDHOOD.
Reducio
Skylar lived a relatively happy and pleasant childhood. At least... it was supposed to be happy. Since both her parents worked in the Ministry, they were considered quite wealthy and lived in a charming estate. Her mom, Charlotte Blue, is a Records Officer, who archives and maintains records; and her dad, Andrius Blue, is a Junior Assistant, a high-ranking position in the Ministry whose duties were to assist the Minister of Magic. She would frequently visit her parents at their jobs and was beloved by many of their co-workers. It was on one of her visits when she saw an Auror, who had just came from a mission. She marveled at the way they carried themselves and garnered respect from others. It was that day on when Skylar developed an interest in becoming an Auror.

Skylar was also homeschooled by a private tutor. The tutor was French, by the name Madamé Montaigne. Though harsh, Madamé Montaigne taught and prepared her for the wizarding world, making her well adjusted to the world of magic. Aside from the main curriculum she had to learn, Skylar was also taught Latin and a little French. And by a little French, she means the terms that Madamé Montaigne would call her when she makes a mistake. She was supposed to be taught French, but her pronunciation was so egregious that Madamé Montaigne actually gave up and taught her Latin instead. Skylar had slight trouble with focusing and staying still sometimes, but she was still a bright child. She always craved knowledge and loved the library. The smell of old books, the scratch of quill against paper, and sounds of pages turning always managed to calm her. She liked reading the daily news with her father, despite not understanding half the words. She was already reading picture books at three, and novels at five.

However, life in isolation can get quite lonely. Having to be homeschooled and confined to her gated residence makes Skylar yearn to break free. It is part of the cause of why she is so adventurous, but also why she is so extroverted. Being alone with no one her age makes Skylar wish for a connection even more. She has cousins, however, all of them were cut off from their family for a reason. She makes friends with some kids whose parents worked in the Ministry, but after a day they are gone, too. Her dad's friends would come visit as well, but there were no kids her age.

All she had were her parents and the ever exasperated Madamé Montaigne (she still cannot properly pronounce her name). Fortunately, Skylar's parents love her very much. They do feel guilty for isolating Skylar, but it was a necessary precaution to prevent the evils that reside in her mother's side of the family. They did make promises to Skylar though that once she begins Hogwarts, she can finally be around students her age, and maybe they can even go somewhere else for summer break. Her parents hope that once Skylar becomes acquainted with how to utilize her wand, she can better defend herself if something arises.

FIRST INSTANCE OF MAGIC.
Skylar's first instance of magic happened by accident when she was playing in a small lake in the backyard of their house. The Blue Estate had a grand garden, with colonnades surrounding it. Intricate water fountains and marble statues adorn the open areas. There was a small lake to the other side of the colonnade, along the edge of a forest. Skylar was five-years-old when she noticed little ducklings gracing the surface of the calm water. When they neared the edge, Skylar reached out in an attempt to pet the fluffy birds. But due to a loss of balance, Skylar fell forward into the pond. However, instead of sinking into the water, she sat right on top of it. She was perfectly dry and unharmed as the water below acts as a hard surface. She was bewildered as the ducks continued to swim around her, as if the water had not just solidified under her. Her parents would later find Skylar happily walking on water, following the ducklings and watching the fishes swim below her.
