9/22/2026 Ilvermorny Grounds
Castra cheerfully walked out to Ilvermorny's grounds with her homework. She often found that the outdoors, no matter how many annoying bugs there were, could be quite helpful when one needed to focus. It was a nice late-summer day, with low humidity, and a bright sun the cast a beautiful glow onto the great school and the area surrounding it. Students sat, stood, and walked around with their friends, chatting and enjoying the crisp, warm mountain air. Castra looked around for relatively empty spot to sit. Her dad had made her promise she'd write as often as she could, and it had been a while since her last letter to her father. Not much had changed, but Castra had to keep her word. Her father was more or less all she had. Especially now that she went to magic school. She still didn't have a full grasp on what magic was, and even seeing herself casting spells was a little bit shocking. Once she found.a nice, flat spot to rest, right by a bench, Castra pulled out her quill and an empty sheet of parchment, but nothing came to her mind. No, "Hi, Papa" or "Not much is different." Nothing came to her mind. Castra's brow furrowed as she rest her chin in the palm of her hand. She had to write something. All her life, Castra had never broken a promise. Maybe it wasn't as big a deal as she thought. She had promised to write. Often. Castra groaned, rolling the parchment back up and sliding back into her bag. I'll try again later, She thought, replacing her unwritten with homework on the bench. She dipped her quill back into her inkpot, refreshing the dried-up ink. She began writing her work, tracing circles with her finger on the bench. Goodness, this is a challenge. Castra thought, moving on to the next question. She couldn't seem to recall the answer to that one either. So, she kept moving through the questions until she found one she did know. Finally! But it was the only one she could figure out with true positivity that her answer was correct. "Man, this is difficult," She mumbled to herself herself, running her fingers through her curls.
