At this point Jay decided she needed to find what she was looking for elsewhere, not in the bookstores with innocent shopfronts, red brick walls and the historic books, Jay needed⦠something different.
Somewhere different.
Knockturn Alley had been a topic she had heard a few older students gossiping about last year, apparently you could buy all sorts of old bits and bobs that might not be entirely legal or cheap but Jay needed that book and was willing to steal it if needed.
itβs not my fault everyone hates everyone and that sometimes it goes too far
Jay doubted a book would be going too far, after all, what could be in it that was so bad? Apart from βwrongful allegationsβ against certain people who wanted to stay in power with their money and comfortable lifestyles.
She debated asking someone for directions to Knockturn Alley but ended up deciding against it. Who knows what on earth someone would say to say to a twelve year old girl walking up to them and asking where she could find Knockturn Alley.
that would not end too well for me, at all
Jay thought bitterly, her boots clicking on the cobblestone road as she weaved in and out of the colorful crowd, trying to see where the alley way would be, if it was even there.
She went with the crowd for about five more minutes before she saw what she was looking for, more like the best sign that Knockturn Alley actually existed, right next to the apothecary shop, of all places.
Taking a right, she forced her way out of the crowd, shoving and pushing her way around the crowd that just kept on moving, a few people yelled at her and pushed her around but she eventually got to the wall where there was a small alley way that seemed to be pretty shady.
At least to Jay
Smells like shit down here
She waved her hand in front of her face to see if that got rid of any of the smell, and it didnβt as she had expected.
It was quite dark and the walls were littered with posters, most of them quite old and torn apart, Jay even spotted a few wanted posters further down.
"fuck it", she said, making her decision and heading for the alley.
