A Midnight Break-in
18th June. 12am
PV @Aleksander Ostrowski
She led there, staring blankly up towards the ceiling whilst listening to the mixture of faint snores and mumbles coming from her roommates. It wasn't a relaxing sound to listen to constantly and always having it be overpowered by the rain bouncing against the windows just wasn't a good duo. Most nights were spent like this. Over time it had started to take its toll on Falentra. Her skin was already pale, so the lightly dark circles under her eyes were sure to stand out.
Propping herself up, she reached under her bed and pulled out a small notebook titled 'Potions N. 28'. It was old looking and wore a few stains from its usage. It belonged to her father, who was a well-known potioneer that had gathered information on all types of ingredients that she didn't even know existed, and still to this day didn't know what most of them meant. She was lucky enough to be able to sneak one from him when she could. His whole life was dedicated to them, so she didn't dare attempt to nick another at the time. The thought of her father's anger caused a shiver to travel down her spine. There wasn't much that scared Falentra, but he did. '' Get it together Fal.'' She reassured herself with the whisper before reaching over to her bedside table that was covered with a rather large black woolly jacket. It wasn't a snug fit, but it sure was cosy and kept her warm.
There was a particular potion that had recently caught Falentras attention. Draught of Peace. It's said to relieve anxiety which was something she suffered from. The ingredients required were rare, and she knew it wasn't something she could obtain so easily. Not only that but overdoing it on the ingredients could cause one to fall into an irreversible sleep. That part wasn't something she wanted to worry herself with at this time. There wasn't any harm coming her way from reading a book was there? At least, that was until Falentras inner explorer woke up. Her conscience perked the Slytherin up onto her feet. How about stealing a ready-made potion from the classroom? It was a perfect idea in her mind. She heard there was a new teacher at Hogwarts, so she was sure they were tucked away in bed by now or doing whatever boring stuff professors do.
Without a second to spare, she threw on the nearest pair of clothes and made her way out and towards the classroom. Of course. It was pitch black and the girl couldn't see a thing. Luck wasn't going to side with her the whole way to the room, so she took her wand and said the following: ''Lumos''. The quick and swift movement shown confidence, as though she had done this a few times. Her pace was quick, yet silent. She wasn't planning on taking her time to get there. Surely, there were to be some professors roaming around, and not only that but these grumpy old painting were starting to complain and draw attention her way sooner or later.
Before long, she arrived in front of the door, staring at it as if she was having second thoughts. '' Please please pleaseee be in here...'' She bit down on her lip from the nerves before looking down at her wand and swaying it quickly. ''Nox''
Her breathing slowed as she crouched down to the handle, concentrating and focusing herself for the following charm she was about to whisper. ''Alohomora'' A click followed to clarify its success. The girl couldn't help but smile. She was somewhat proud of herself for managing to not mess up any of her incantations. She just hoped that luck would follow her into the room she was about to intrude in on.

A Midnight Break-in
@Falentra BlackThe Professor stared with a wide eye at his potion, looking it over as it bubbled and brewed away. "Perhaps...Valerian?" He mumbled to himself, placing a sprig into the brew, causing it to go a cool lilac colour. "Hmm...interesting." He mused, jotting down his findings in a small notebook. On a page riddled with scribbles and scratched out formulas. "Bezoar?" He asked himself out loud, causing a puff of smoke to go up in his face as he added t he ingredient. He coughed and waved it away. "Absolutnie nie." (Absolutely not.) He said quietly. Putting another scribble over his formula.
Before he could continue though, his ears pricked up at a sudden sound. Very minor and quiet, like the footsteps of someone who doesn't wish to be caught. To an ordinary professor, those footsteps would be doing quite well in concealing the movements of whomever it was prowling about at this hour, but Ostrowski's ears were not those of a normal Professor.
He shook his head and tried to focus back on his work. He couldn't really care less about someone wandering about, that was their business and this was his. Some other Professor could handle it if it was a problem.
But it kept up, and seemed to increase in volume ever so slightly. That muffled thump of tender footsteps against stone, encroaching ever closer upon his territory. The lair of the Wolf. Some poor student was trying to enter his classroom.
With a disgruntled and quiet sigh he pulled out his wand and extinguished the flame that was causing his potion to bubble and brew, and quickly closed his notebook, tucking it away in his desk. He hid himself, maybe if they thought he wasn't here, they would go away.
No such luck.
He heard the muffled sound of an incantation and the click of a lock being unlocked. The bloody cheek of whoever this was, breaking into his classroom. He would keep himself hidden and watch as they entered. Before whoever it was could get far however he would step behind them with an audible thud. "There's getting to class early...and then there's this..." He spoke firmly, but calmly.
"What dubious reasoning must you have for coming here at such an hour? Class isn't for a while yet." He spoke slowly and deliberately, pale blue eyes staring down at her in the darkness.

A Midnight Break-in
The self-confidence that had suddenly begun to rise within the girl had disappeared just as fast. She had literally taken a few steps into the classroom before the sound of a man could be heard behind her. It was as if the room had suddenly turned ice cold and fell to complete silence. The hairs on her arms stood and her eyes shut tightly, knowing full well she had been caught by a Professor. The frustration already beginning to build within her was starting to show by her breathing becoming heavy. She was to think quickly before she spoke. The slight stutter was sure to give off some form of fear that she surely felt within but was too stubborn to let it show.
Falentra let out a sigh before her eyes opened and made there way around the room. It was too dark to scan properly. Too dark for her to see something that could maybe prompt her to come up with a lie, but it was no use. She was usually a natural at this, but tonight she felt on edge and couldn't think as straight. ''Uhm. I thought I left somethin' in 'ere that I really..really needed. It couldn't wait.'' The lie was pathetic and she already knew it wasn't good enough for her to get out of this mess but it was surely better than her remaining silent. Despite feeling on edge, she wasn't going to fall to her knees and beg for forgiveness. To seem so desperate made her scoff out loud. She always talked to herself in her head, so much so that she never knew why when it came to saying it all out loud it would turn to gibberish or into a sentence filled with stutters.
The Slytherin would eventually turn to face the other, as she had to at some point. Although there was not much to look at, his piercing blue eyes stood out within the darkness. Quite scary at first glance. ''Geez. Who let the white walker in 'ere?'' She mocked the other to try and overpower the tense vibe she was most likely given off. And what better way was there to do that than to throw one of those stupid Muggle programmes she had watched before.
She took a few steps back after her lame attempt of an insult. Bumping into one of the tables caused her to come to a stop. Her eyes kept themselves fixated on the other, trying to read him but nothing was coming from it. There was no full figure to examine, only eyes that held a cold stare. Maybe she was just to tell the truth. He could help, but she highly doubted it after breaking in and attempting to steal his work. Things couldn't get any worse than they were so why the hell not.
''Alright, fine.'' She held her hands up in defeat before placing them behind her back, one resting securely on her father's journal that sat within her back pocket. Taking a deep breath, she continued. '' I'm after a potion. Draught of Peace. Read it me dads journal. Thought it might...help me...a bit. Think you could hel-... I mean.. I don't need your help. I just want the bloody.. the bloody potion.'' She kept pausing every few seconds, embarrassed that she felt the need to explain to him for her reasoning. Did it make her look stupid and weak? It was one of her few fears.
While she waited for the man to reply, she sat herself up on the table behind her, her feet dangling and swinging impatiently for his response. The thoughts of him declining the help she secretly wanted worried her. She had no escape plan after all. Falentra was always the type to just go full force before thinking what the consequences and overall outcome could be. How was she getting herself out of this one, she didn't know but apologising was not on her list. That was something she was certain of.

A Midnight Break-in
@Falentra BlackHe would remain silent as he listened to her, the pair of them stood in darkness. His piercing blue eyes never faltering from staring at her silhouette. When it became obvious she had no ill-intentions beyond thievery he would draw his wand and wave it, lighting the various lamps around the room. It was only a dull glow, but certainly better than the pitch blackness that had been present before.
He would look around the room for a few moments, not a sound coming from his mouth. He turned away from her and put his wand away, taking a few steps away from her. "I never got into that show. I'm going to assume the White Walkers are the intelligent and handsome ones." He joked dryly.
"Now go away..." His tone of voice was calm but firm, it seemed he had no intention of punishing her at the very least.
Then the full explanation came, the true one. The real reason she had been prowling the halls. He looked back at her with a look of growing annoyance and irritation. "You seem to be under the impression that this school hired a charitable therapist." He said to her, staring straight down at her. "Some nervous energy building up that you'd like an easy way out of?" He asked, taking a step towards her. "I don't do after-hours teaching, it's bad enough I have to put up with all of you during class."
He ran a hand through his hair trying to get out some of this frustration before he broke something. His research had been interrupted by a would be thief who was now indignantly requesting but not requesting his assistance in brewing a potion well below his level.
"I won't give you detention because it would be more troublesome for me to sort it out. However, someone else probably will. Just go back to your dorm and stop bothering me." He commanded.
"And seeing as you clearly wanted some chemical therapy, take my advice instead. The Draught of Peace will help you, yes, in the short term. Then you'll want another, then another and another. Eventually you'll crave the bliss and tranquility they bring along with them that simply being cognizant will ruin you. Change needs to come from within. This potion has destroyed people..." He told her, taking a breath, for the first time his eyes seemed to avoid her gaze.
He felt he had said all that needed to be said, he would turn away again, expecting her to take her leave as he returned to what he was doing before.

A Midnight Break-in
Falentra was about to let a small smirk creep its way onto her lips with his quick response in regards to her dig about comparing him to a White Walkers. She was expecting no response to it. Either that or some grumpy remark that most teachers threw back. Of course, that was to follow not long after. His tone and overall actions let off a bad vibe. He clearly didn't want the company. It was very much something she would do too in all honesty if someone was to bother her. Nevertheless, she wasn't going to give up so easily. She was extremely stubborn after all and wasn't bothered about throwing some insults back his way.
''O-Oi! I ain't goin' nowhere. Getting 'ere was a pain in the arse.'' She huffed and brushed her hair back with her hand, trying to cool down her temper that she felt starting to wake. ''Come on. Ain't there anythin' else you can give me instead?''
Moments passed as she studied the new professor from the table she remained sat on. There wasn't much she could pick up at this moment in time, despite the room now being lit enough for her to see him. He gave off an eerie feeling and his features, especially the scars that ran along his face was something that stood out the most. This man had obviously had it rough at some point in his life. Maybe that was why he was how he was with her and other students? A few thoughts ran threw her head as she awaited his response from earlier. The only thing she could relate to or understand were those bags under the eyes. They stood out against his pale complexion, just like her own.
It was then that he spoke more that she expected him to. Describing the potion to her as if he himself had used it, or someone he knew. It seemed to have ended badly. A sigh left her lips, knowing she wasn't going to get it at this point. But that didn't mean she was going to give up on trying for an alternative.
Once he had turned his back on her, she would jump from the table and follow behind at a distance. What was she to say at this point without winding up the man more than she thought she had. There was no way she was going to beg for anything, but at the same time, she knew it was best not to pester him too much so instead she decided to stand in front of the desk he was currently working at, her arms folded and her lips slightly pouting to express the stubbornness. Her brows were furrowed in annoyance as her arms would fold.
It seemed her presence was never wanted around people. Her communication skills were poor and her appearance put others off from her. But she wasn't expecting it from a professor. She thought they would at least hide it. '' I never ask for help you know... I like working on me own but it's hard sometimes...'' She mumbled under her breath and was about to continue but knew it was probably going to seem like she was caving sympathy. She brushed the rest of what she had to say off and lowered her gaze for a moment to gather her thoughts the moved it towards the door, deciding if it was probably best if she did just leave. '' Is there really nothin' you can give me?'' It would be the final question she was going to ask him. It was tiring her out. By now she would have let her anger out or have just stormed off, but this was important for her and she didn't want to blow it.
