Hmm…Clifton? So Leonard is friend with Clifton Troublefield?
Flora’s eyebrow raised a little when hearing this Hufflepuff’s name. (She was sure that Leonard didn’t notice this, cause she moved very secretly.) She had went on an adventure with Clifton, Alina and Alexa sometime earlier this year, and it was super interesting.
I would ask Alina and Alexa next time if they had noticed that Clifton’s hair is attractive and interesting! she thought, smiling in her heart.
“Wow this is probably the most detailed description of friends in the world!” Flora smiled to Leonard. “I don’t think I could do that good.”
“Um, for why asking, I guess I’ll put this and mine as examples in my reply. Reality proves everything, and I don’t need to speak like a mad philosopher or a poet saying ‘Ah, Romance and Friendship are the best and most important things in the world!’” Flora laughed.
“And, as an——exchange or something? I’m gonna finish mine questionnaire too.” she said, smiling.
“The first one——my friend’s name is Lizzie. My thoughts——she’s pretty lively and vigorous, always looking for new challenges and adventures, speaks a lot, and extremely caring. But I don’t think I’ve got any remark on her looking——she’s pretty, that’s all.”
“For defending, definitely yes. I’m not very good on fighting with my fists, and I couldn’t win when fighting with a boy or something——that’s definitely. But if there’s a chance for archery…never mind on that point.”
“So I guess I’ll just flood the bully or attacker using thousands of words——no bad words, though——but I do think Lizzie will flood him first before I coming to rescue!”
The young Hufflepuff laughed again. Talkative and fond of laughing? They’re probably the most appropriate to describe her.

Leonard smiled. Interesting, indeed. Flora seemed to have experience with making friends. More experience than he did, anyways. She ticked all the boxes of politeness. Compliments that he didn’t quite deserve, check. Pleasant to be around and talk to, check. Though maybe that was all a natural ability of Hufflepuffs. It seemed to be so, since he’d never met anybody in a yellow tie that was any degree of sarcastic to him. No wonder the hat hadn’t even considered Hufflepuff for him, the mad philosopher he was.
“Wait, wait, archery? Back up a little bit, yeah? You going to shoot an apple on his head, or go straight for the heart? I mean, either way it’s definitely illegal,” perhaps another ability of the Badgers was mischief. “It’s cool and all, but remind me to never put a bow anywhere near you. I’d like my head to stay on my body, thank you very much.”
“Lizzie? As in, Lizzie Verdine?” He asked. Maybe he was embarrassing himself. After all, in such an enormous castle, there had to be hundreds of girls with that same name. And he really was hoping that it wasn’t her; though Verdine was nice, she probably didn’t like him anymore. After that run-in where she found out about him and Simmons and their little feud, she was safely crossed out on his friends list. An extremely short list, that was.

Flora laughed when Leonard expressed his opinions on archery.
“Hmm, I guess I’ll just shoot the arrow somewhere straight into the sky and distract his attention maybe.” she said thoughtfully. “For your concern——you maybe have to keep me away from the bow. But I think I’m definitely not get angry easily and if the archer has no arrows, he could only throw his bow and his target——so you know.” Flora smiled.
Leonard then asked if the Lizzie’s family name was Verdine.
“Nope, not Verdine——I’m pretty sure on that point——but Callaghan. I met her on the Hogwarts Express and it’s very interesting that her brother turned out to be my brother’s friend too.” she smiled. “I guess that’s what’s called serendipity?”
“And, it seems that plenty of people have the same given names at Hogwarts!”
“Ah, and that Lizzie Verdine is your friend?” Flora asked curiously. She’s curious, most of the times. “A…Slytherin maybe?” she offered.
What’s for sure, Lizzie Verdine wasn’t a Hufflepuff nor a Gryffindor. Flora, and Lizzie (her Lizzie of course) had never heard this name before, so she suggested that she must be a Slytherin like Leonard.
Well, whatever which house this Lizzie was in, she’s definitely not as good as Lizzie Callaghan, the Gryffindor red headed girl. Flora said to herself in her heart.

Serendipity. Leonard liked to think about words a lot, but that was one that had never crossed his mind much. The reason was, most likely, the fact serendipities and such never happened to him. It was more of a zemblanity, his life. One unhappy, unpleasant unsurprise after the other.
Good things happened to him sometimes, though those were not accidents. He didn’t quite believe in the word for a reason. You had to put effort into making good things happen for yourself, or at least make sure the inevitable bad things wouldn’t hurt too much.
However, he hadn’t put much effort into meeting Flora, and that was most certainly a good thing. One of the best things, even.
“No, no, not my friend. Anymore, at least,” he said, a bit embarrassed. “You might be surprised, but I have a little penchant, I guess you’d call it, for messing up, making enemies, all that. And she’s a Ravenclaw, by the way.”
“By the way,” changing the subject. Always a good plan. “I would absolutely like to see you throw somebody off into the air. Sure you’d get a home run.”
It was an amusing thought. She hadn’t the body of a professional wrestler, that was for sure. He’d read articles before, though, wherein mothers had lifted automobiles to protect their children. Maybe it was something like that.

A Ravenclaw and not Leonard’s friend anymore…this Lizzie probably have some annoying point on her. For, Leonard had a really great character and everyone shall like him. Flora thought.
“Hmm…guess the archer must not be me that could throw someone up! If I could throw someone away, then he must be a young baby!” She laughed. “But a baby probably won’t become one’s target, will he?” Flora soon added.
“Any plans for the summer?” she asked. “Like the summer camp?”
Flora herself was probably going there, but her parents hadn’t sent her a instructive letter now. She was pretty sure that a trip to France must be mandatory this summer, but they could put it off to some time later. Maybe there’s a camp in Beaxbatons too? Flora decided to put this question in her letter along with the romance issues.
She hadn’t asked others if they were going to the camp so far. Leonard was the first person she’s had asked, and she suggested that this boy made a good friend.
I’ve got to send Lizzie an owl for this. She thought. Probably she’s going if her muggle father wouldn’t reject.
The camp was definitely very exciting. Flora hoped to make some friends and develop a further relationship with the ones she knew already.
Her acquaintances list was very long, but the friends one still needed to be added.

Leonard grinned. She didn’t seem to mind at all about the former friends, which was more than he could’ve hoped for. The best case scenario that was playing in his head was her walking away. It had happened before.
“Well, speak for yourself. I’ve known quite a lot of annoying babies, and I would love for the chance to chuck them out the window. Not that I would ever do it, of course,” he winked, in the most conspicuous way possible to close one eye.
“With the summer camp thing, don’t really know. My mum’s against it, so my dad’s trying to make her see sense. He’ll lose, of course. It’s what happens every single time. When she tells me I’m not going, I’ll just go back to what I always do during summer, watering flowers at the park and yelling at my neighbour’s dog when it pees on my shoes. But, if, in some alternate universe where my dad actually wins and I get to go, I wouldn’t even know who I’d camp with. I mean, I know who I’d camp with, I just don’t know who I could go with that wouldn’t get me in any trouble. It’s a short list, I’ll tell you that. It’s mostly made of pebbles I named, like John Mulshaley.”

“You have to water flowers during summer?” Flora asked. “Well, I’m a victim of flowers too. My parents insisted not using magic, because our house was surrounded by muggles. As a result, I became the ‘magic’ to water flowers my grandmother grows…”
Grandma Verna definitely was into flowers and plants. She grew so many that their garden was truly a “serendipity” one——as the Springhalls’ house was named “Serendipity Garden”.
“I haven’t got any ideas for my summer so far. I wish to go to the camp but it’s possible my parents have plans——I do think the Winters had sent my grandfather an invitation to a ball sometime earlier but I don’t know the exact time.” Flora shrugged her shoulders.
Hmm, the Winters. Airlia was nice, but her mother seemed a little…in the crowd of blood purists. And she seemed very interested in her cousin Enjolras——the heir of the Springhall family, if there’s still a heir or something.
“And, I guess my parents would take me to France to meet my uncle and his family. So you know——I hope I could only stay in my bedroom and spend the whole summer reading. Cooking and archery was nice too if my mother allows me to get into the kitchen and my grandma allows me to get access to my bow——I caused an incident when practicing archery last year on a wealthy muggle old man who lives next door. A very small one, I promise!” Flora laughed.
“Well, I believe my magic got a bit——uncontrolled and it caused the arrow to fly straight to next door and…dear me.” She said. “But, that man was the only unkind muggle to my brother and me. He made me to wonder if muggles in the world were all like him at that time.”
“And, who’s John Mulshaley?”

“Oi! Don’t be rude to the flowers. They have feeling too, you know.” Leonard beamed. It had been a while since he had this much fun. He’d never tell his mother; she’d talk both ears off and then some.
“Don’t know who the Winters are, but I’m assuming they’re some big, rich pureblood family. I mean, a ball? This isn’t a Disney movie. Believe me, I was disappointed when my carpet didn’t fly,” he said. “I mean, that thing with the arrow must’ve given him a heart attack, at that age. At any age, really. Can you imagine, just some random arrow nearly flying onto your head?”
“I’ve never been to France, though I wish I could go. Dad says it’s one of a kind, nothing like it. To answer your question, John Mulshaley is my favourite brown rock, who I found next to a lily pad and ended up taking home. Don’t know why. I just like rocks, puns, and American comedians, I guess.”
He looked out the window. The sun was in full force, blasting light at them.
“Right, I should probably go now. I’m setting myself a challenge to not get one single tardy for the entire school year, and I’m not going to lose now. See you sometime soon? The toilets on the second floor, maybe?”

“Well, you might be right——at least when I complained about the watering errand all the flowers seemed a bit dead.”
A bit dead. Or completely upset. You may choose on between them. Grandmother Verna’s flowers seemed extremely fragile. They needed care, as her grandfather said.
“And as for the Winters, they are indeed a very wealthy pure blood family. Their daughter Airlia is pretty nice, but Mrs. Winter seemed just a wealthy lady stuck with blood purists——I don’t like that.” Flora said rather frankly. “A ball would be good, like the Disneys, but I’m just terrible at dancing and that makes the ball a small nightmare.”
“Actually I don’t think France is better than England or Scotland or Ireland and so on. Maybe the same? But French is probably the most horrible thing in the world——I haven’t figured out how to pronounce so far.”
“You are pretty creative to name your rocks like…like Anne of Green Gables——dunno if I’ve said it right, I only read the book once.”
Leonard said he should probably go now.
“Oh sure! I’ll go and find my housemates down there——I guess they’re having some sorts of games?” She pointed to the window and leaned against the wall.
“For the meeting——K sure! I’m pretty free these days and had got through (and luckily survived) my homework.”
