An Unusual Duel
Apparently, Silas was so focused on his sadistic desire to watch the suffering that he forgot to actually focus on casting his spell properly. Karma clearly had ideas for him today, since his own spell proceeded to, quite literally, blow up in his face. It knocked him back with more force than he expected, feeling like he had been punched hard. Well, now he knew what he was attempting to inflict on the other person. Yeah, that should work. A couple of those on top of the damage she had already sustained, and she should be out cold.
He had stumbled back when hit, but he regained his footing quickly — remarkably quickly, in fact. A particularly observant eye might notice the practiced ease with which he did it, though whether they would actually suspect the reasons behind it was another question. Nevertheless, he resumed his duelling stance, readying himself for his next spell, which would hopefully be far more successful than this one. It would be pretty hard, if not impossible, for it to be worse, after all. “You should just give up already,” he said flatly to the opponent, though he wasn’t sure he even wanted that. He’d much prefer to have the satisfaction of seeing her get knocked out. But a little demoralisation for her wouldn’t hurt him — far from it.

She didn't know how much longer she would last with this duel. She was getting exhausted. And it was starting to show in her movements. She just hoped that her opponents wouldn't notice that fact.
She had fired Flipendo at Silas again. It was the strongest spell she knew so she thought might as well use it. At best she knocked the boy down. At worst? She hit herself with the spell. But at this rate she couldn't bring herself to care about that fact. She watched as the Slytherin just barely dodged the spell. Shoot She said to herself.
She didn't have time to rest as another Flipendo was sent her way by the older Ravenclaw. She quite literally almost fell over trying to dodge as fast as she could. She took a deep breath to steady herself. She couldn't falter. Not now. Not ever.
She watched as Silas had the unfortunate experience of having his Flipendo cast backfire. She knew the pain. It had happened to her before. Her head snapped up as she heard the words that left the boy's mouth. You should just give up. Perhaps she should have listened. Perhaps she should have just forfeited. It would save her from further harm. But something stopped her. Was is a sense of pride? She could hear a small voice tell her not to give up. Was it her own voice? Perhaps it was. That small bit of pride she held being a duelling captain. Though there wasn't anyone around, she was still going to hold her head high and set an example, to show that she wasn't going to give up, to show why exactly she loved the sport.
Never Norwood, she retorted lifting her wand again. She never called her peers by their last name. It was something she avoided as much as possible. But at that moment, it felt necessary. It felt necessary to show her opponents that their words were not going to affect her.Action: as strategised.
