________________________________________September finally arrived, summer could not have gone by any slower. While he had no doubt all of his classmates probably had eventful summers, his summer was the complete opposite. All of his muggle friends were either on holiday out of town, or in summer camps. He also could not entertain himself with magic, so he was left with absolutely nothing exciting to do. Being back on Platform 9 3/4 brought back memories from when he first step foot on the platform exactly one year ago. Unlike that time when he was slightly hesitant to board the shiny red steam engine, he had no second thoughts about boarding this time after saying goodbye to his parents. He walked through the train to try and find an empty compartment, pulling his trunk with one of his hands and carrying a cage containing his pet owl in his other hand. Finally, after passing many compartments with occupants, he found an empty one somewhere in the middle of the train. He placed the cage on the luggage rack over his seat, and placed his trunk on a seat next to him, because he still needed to get a few things he wanted to have with him on the journey. As he was rummaging through the contents of his trunk, he heard a strange sound, and turned around to see that the compartment door was cracked open slightly. Perhaps he left it open without noticing, or maybe it was faulty? This should have been the the first sign that something bad was happening. He merely shrugged it off, rather unwisely, and went back to digging around the inside his trunk. A few seconds later, he heard a fizzing or buzzing sound coming from somewhere inside the compartment. Again, he turned around. This time the door was closed fully, which made him sure that something wasn't right. After a few clueless moments, he noticed that a Filibuster Firework was on the floor. Josh already knew what was going to happen, and could barely react before the next second when the entire compartment filled with loud bangs, colorful sparks, and smoke. The peaceful compartment became chaotic in an instant. He scrambled to open the compartment window so that the sparks had a way to escape. Eventually, they did go shooting out one after the other. He had undoubtedly been a victim of a renowned Hogwarts prank. Some people from the other compartments obviously heard the loud explosion noises, as a small crowd had gathered outside his compartment, and of course they were all laughing when they realized what happened. Typical... he thought to himself. The compartment was full of smoke, his owl was still screeching loudly from the disturbance, and he knew he was probably the first person to get pranked this term. These types of jokes amused him, but they were not that funny when he was the target. Still, a silly little prank would not ruin the good mood he was in. Maybe he would even see the humor in it eventually, just as soon as all the smoke went out the window...

Selina hopped onto the train with a new hope, something she had been lacking the long boring summer. The familiar smell of engine and cushions welcomed her with a smile. She remebered how nervous she was, but that seemed to have vanished. She had made it just in time to the platform, practically running onto the train. She managed to say goodbye to her parents and waved. She had high hopes for this year, although the expectations were higher.
She set off to find a compartment, trunk and owl in cage. Her owl already moved a bit impatient, wanting to be set free.
"I know, Mocha. We will be there in no time I promise." she said voice low to reassure the owl. But she was well aware, that this train ride, was gonna feel like an eternity. That's why finding a good compartment was very important in the moment. Mostly everything seemed to be full. As she stepped through the narrow hall, she spotted a few students. They were snickering, looking they had just ran, holding their mouths to contain their laughs. She raised a subtle eyebrow at them in question. But her question got quickly answered by bang and alot of smoke. Mocha, her owl, shriecked and Selina shush her owl gently. She hurried her way to the compartment the noise came from, to see a boy surrounded by the smoke. The victim of a simple prank. She can't help but look rather amused as she sees the boy in utterly schock of what happened, before he himself comes to the conclusion.
"Nice way to start the school year, huh?" she asked amused as she leaned against the compartment door, as more students came to see what happened. When the students had gotten their answer, they left. But Selina stayed. Something about starting with the victim of a prank full compartment, intriuged her.
"Mind if I sit with you? Most other places are full"

________________________________________Eventually the crowd dispersed after having a laugh. He couldn't really blame them, he would have laughed too if it happened to someone else, but it still felt slightly humiliating. One particular person in the crowd, a girl, stayed behind as everyone else left. He wasn't sure if she was staying behind to mock him, or maybe because she felt sorry for him, either way he was sure that she was going to laugh at him just like everyone else. "Mind if I sit with you? Most other places are full" He was surprised to say the least, because who on earth would want to sit with him after that stunt? "Are you sure you want to do that to yourself? Right now I may as well be a social outcast..." She looked amused, who wouldn't be after that prank? But she also seemed serious about the question. "Be my guest" he said with a shrug, and gestured to a seat opposite him. He sat back down and continued searching inside of his trunk, and took out a small pouch which he put into his pocket. He also took out an owl treat, because he needed to calm down his owl who was still screeching madly. "Calm yourself down, you silly little creature" he spoke as he fed his owl the treat. His voice was filled with annoyance, but also affection. He had a soft spot for that bird, no matter how much of a headache he could be. He noticed that the girl also had an owl. He knew it was polite to offer, so after thinking about it, he took out another treat from his trunk. Uhm, does your owl also like treats?" he asked as he offered the treat to the girl.

Her amused look turned into a suprised smile, when he let her sit with him. After a prank like that, she would most likely just had wanted to sit alone. But she was grateful of his accept. She sat opposite, fiddling wih her sweather, observing the firework boy.
She saw the way he cared for his owl, which made her automatically, not only respect, but like him aswell. She saw the pouch he added in his pocket, curious on what i was. Probably just money. She thought. But perhaps something more. She decided not to ask, since it seemed rude.
She accepted the offer of a treat with a smile "Thanks" she took the treat from his hands, and offered it to Mocha. It already seemed to ease her from the commotion. She smiled gently at her owl.
"I saw the culprits of your little event. Just a group of fourth years. Nothing to worry about" she shrugged. "Not that I thought you were worried" she quickly added in.
There were still, small signs of smoke, which she decided to obeserve, instead of having awkward eye contact to him. But she found a better view to look at. His owl. His owl was much bigger than her own, though her owl was smaller than most. She tilted her head at its shiny feathers.
"They're beautiful" she complimented, nodding towards it's cage.
She shifted her eyes towards the window, still about seven hours to go. She sighed. She was quite impatient. It dawned on her, that she didnt know his name, and the best name she had come up with was Sparky - for the fireworks- but thought best not to say aloud, yet.
"Im Selina by the way. Selina Nightheart" She extended out her hand in greeting with a kind smile.

________________________________________He smiled awkwardly when she thanked him. Josh was not particularly good with social interactions. He went back to his messy trunk, and took out a book, Quidditch Through the Ages. He just recently bought it at Diagon Alley over the summer, so he had not red it yet. He figured he could read a few pages on the long journey, which only just started. Afterwards, he finally closed his trunk, he would organize the mess in it when they arrived, and he placed it on the luggage rack above him before sitting down again. "They're beautiful" said the girl, and she nodded towards his owl's cage. "Oh, thank you." he spoke, this time he was no longer smiling awkwardly but he was actually starting to smile genuinely. "Don't mind him and his screeching. He becomes a little... restless, when he's bored. Or when he's startled." Restless was of course an understatement, but he refrained from thinking about how difficult it was taking care of Columbus over the summer, he was hoping that being around other owls at Hogwarts would help him become more independent. "I'm Selina by the way. Selina Nightheart" said the girl, who he now knew was named Selina. He felt even more embarrassed, he was going to be sitting with her the entire journey, and he did not even bother to ask her what her name was, or tell her what his name was. "Nice to meet you. Call me Josh. Josh Ericson." he spoke as he gave her a handshake. It was moments like this that made it clear why he didn't have many friends. He opened his book and began reading, because he didn't have much else to do or say. It was while he was reading he thought about her name, Selina. It sounded familiar, he definitely heard it somewhere. "You wouldn't happen to be in Slytherin, would you Selina?" he asked this because he knew she couldn't be in Ravenclaw, he knew all the Ravenclaws in his year. "I'm in Ravenclaw. I think we had Charms together last year, we didn't really speak or interact though, obviously." He felt considerably more comfortable knowing that Selina was not a total stranger. This made him appear more calm and relaxed than opposed to how he seemed directly after the prank he endured. Still, she wasn't exactly someone he "knew" either, maybe, and hopefully, that would change at the end of this journey.

Her smile widened, when Josh took her hand. "Pleasure to meet you Sparky" she winced at her own words. She didn't mean to have said it. The words sorta just tumbled out of her mouth. "Sorry- I mean Josh... Pleasure to meet you...Josh" she nodded, trying to stay calm, though she was screaming internally, begging that maybe the noise of the train had stopped him for hearing those few seconds. But she sincerely doubt it. She took her eyes away from him staring at the window instead. This was exactly why, she never approached the kids in the park, when she was younger. She calmed herself down, fiddling with the rings on her fingers.
She noticed the book in his hands, happy to see that he had engaged himself on something else, than her. Quidditch through the ages. She read the Title. Another quidditch fan perhaps... She probably should also find somehing to consume her time with. She had her own muggle book with her. But she wasnt really in the mood. But it was certainly better than staring out the window, and get lost in thought...
Josh's voice cut her from thinking further.
"You wouldn't happen to be in Slytherin, would you Selina?" he asked "I'm in Ravenclaw. I think we had Charms together last year, we didn't really speak or interact though, obviously."
Thankful he had started the conversation, she answered.
"I am in Slytherin." she smiled, suprised that he even would notice her. "And I think ive noticed your face from charms too." she knew there was something familar about his hair. A ravenclaw, huh. She once thought she was a ravenclaw, but the hat proved otherwise.
She rummaged through her bag, trying to find the book she was looking for. Before she could find her book, or any other sort of entertainment. Her favorite part of the ride had arrived. The lady with the trolley, opened the compartment door.
"Anything from the trolley, dears?"
Selina smiled "Three chocolate frogs, a bag of fizzing whizzbees... oh! And one bag sugar quills, please" she found her purple coin pouch in her bag, and gave the lady the money accordingly, the sweets now safe in her position.
"Anything for you dear?" she asked Josh sweetly.

________________________________________He didn't really take notice of the name she called him, "Sparky". He thought it was odd, but oh well. When you think about, Josh was odd, he was a wizard in a family full of muggles. His parents had to tell all sorts of lies to neighbors, distant family, and friends about where he went the entire year. By muggle metrics at least, he was extremely odd. He checked his watch out of habit. They still had many more hours to travel, he estimated that the train only just left London. His thoughts about how odd he was and how much longer they had to travel were interrupted by the trolley lady. Josh looked at the trolley she was pushing, she had so many sweets, he'd be surprised if there was a sweet she didn't have from the wizarding world. Selina bought three chocolate frogs, a bag of fizzing whizzbees, and a bag of sugar quills. The trolley witch then turned to him, and asked "Anything for you dear?" in a warm voice. He continued looking at the trolley. There were so many choices, he didn't know how to choose. He probably had enough money to buy one of everything, but that would use up all the money his parents gave him to use for the entire term, and he wasn't so sure if he could eat that many sweets. "Uhhhh... I'll have... Two cauldron cakes... Maybe a bag of jelly slugs, and... a few drooble's gum." He took out his leather coin pouch from one of his pockets. While he counted the money from his pouch to pay her, he caught sight of the chocolate frogs Selina had bought. During his first train ride to Hogwarts last year, he bought a bunch of them. Unfortunately the name "chocolate frogs" was not a clever play on words, and the chocolate looked like actual frogs, which were one of his greatest fears at the time. Needless to say, he never ate any of them, but collected the cards. He was no longer so afraid of frogs, however they still made him jumpy. He supposed he could use a new card, so after some hesitation, he spoke. "Uh, I guess I'll also have a chocolate frog." He gave the trolley witch his money, and sat back down with the sweets on his lap. "Do you collect them as well?" he asked Selina while picking up his single chocolate frog package. "I have four cards so far." He opened the packaging, and put the frog aside to see the card. "Bathilda Bagshot! My favorite historian!" He was so excited that he did not even realize he said that out loud. He looked at the actual chocolate frog he set aside, there was no way he was going to eat it. He picked it up, and turned to Selina "Would you mind having this for me? I prefer the cards, the actual chocolate well... nauseates me." He offered it to her, hoping she would take it. At least if she did take it, it would not go to waste because otherwise he would probably throw it out the window.

Selina smiled at the offered chocolate frog. They were her absolute favorite sweet, despite hating frogs, and their slimy skin. But chocolate has always been the way to her heart.
"Of course. I love chocolate frogs. Thanks" she said as she popped the frog into her mouth. The chocolate melted on her tongue and immediately lifted her mood.
"You can have my cards. I don't really care about them. Never have." she shrugged, opening the three boxes, taking only the cards. She looked through them.
"Rowena Ravenclaw, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin." She read up "what a coincidence, huh?" she looked up at the Ravenclaw, with a smile. And before she could hand him the cards, the third card got summoned.
“May I sit here?” a girl asked. Selina glanced at Josh, letting him answer. He was the first one to the compartment after all, though she would be more than happy, to have another one in the compartment.
Selina found out the girl was a Ravenclaw, same year, with the name Tina Carille. She glanced down at the cards. Huh. Two Ravenclaws and a Slytherin. She looked up. Two Ravenclaws and a Slytherin.
Normally she didn't believe stuff, such as divination. But maybe she should.
”And you’re a Slytherin arn’t you?” Tina turned to Selina.
"Uh, yeah. I am" Selina answered with a polite smile. Selina now realizes, she's surrounded by Ravenclaws. She did, kina feel like the odd one out, but she woudn't let that get to her. They were all just a pack of students at the end of the day.
Selina spotted the white cat in the Tina's arms, that reminded her, so much of the cat, from the muggle movie, her father once showed her. She smiled softly at the feline. Selina adored animals, all until it had anything to do with something more than four legs.
"Your cat is adorable" she complimented, resisting the urge not to pet it.

________________________________________"You can have my cards. I don't really care about them. Never have." she said as she opened her three chocolate frogs. Josh saw that two were of Rowena Ravenclaw, and the third one was of Salazar Slytherin. "Wow, thank you!" he said enthusiastically. He did not have Salazar Slytherin or Rowena Ravenclaw yet, with those cards he would be halfway completing his collection of the Hogwarts founders. “Excuse me, could I have some Bertie Botts, Chocolate Frogs, Um..Chewing gum and…. Some fizzing wizbees please. Thank you.” The voice came from a girl who had come from a compartment somewhere further back on the train. She had a snowy white cat in her arms, and she had her trunks with her. Josh already knew who she was - Tina Carille. He knew every Ravenclaw in his year, even if he hadn't spoken to many of them. After she gave the trolley witch her money, she spoke again, this time to Selina and him. “May I sit here?” He really didn't mind her joining them, but he still glanced at Selina to see if she was okay with it. She seemed to glance back at him. He took it as a sign that she was fine with it. "Sure, we have room" he said to Tina, who already stepped into the compartment. ”Sorry I didn’t introduce myself correctly. I’m Tina, Tina Carille? I’m a second year Ravenclaw. I’m sure I’ve seen you around the commen room.” her voice was sort of intimidating, it had confidence Josh could only dream of having. "Yeah, I've seen you around loads of times. I'm Josh. Josh Ericson" he wasn't sure if he had the right to introduce Selina on her behalf, or if she was okay with it, but he did so anyway. "Oh, and this is Selina Nightheart" he gestured to Selina briefly before turning to look back at Tina. His eyes shifted to her cat, she probably just got him because he didn't remember her having a pet in the first year. Josh had the tendency to observe unintentionally, and he knew many things about his fellow Ravenclaws. Nothing personal of course, just basic details that many people did not bother to take notice of or remember. "Your cat is adorable" Selina spoke as she admired the cat's shiny white fur. Josh smiled and nodded in agreement. He took his bag of jelly slugs and opened them. He really liked the muggle version of these jelly sweets, the only downside was how they looked like slugs. "Are you really taking the risk?" he asked Tina as he pointed to the Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans she had with her. Along with chocolate frogs, he had a terrible experience with them when he dared to try them on his first train ride to Hogwarts. "The last time I had those I got a tripe flavored one." Just thinking about the experience made him want to gag, he could swear he even started to taste the tripe in his mouth as he thought about it. "Have you tried them Selina?" he turned to Selina and asked her as he propped a jelly slug into his mouth. She was still looking at Tina's cat.
