Elizabeth walked through the halls with her textbooks tucked in her arms, her long curls brushing softly against her robes with each step. It was a comforting motion. With the hum of conversation and the sound of footsteps coming nearby.
She was kind of proud of herself. She survived the sorting ceremony, and her first lessons. She was sorted into Gryffindor. She already knew she would be sorted into Gryffindor. They were loyal, brave, and sometimes chaotic.
She wasn’t alone though. She was walking with a girl that she just became friends with. They were talking about random things. Lessons, quidditch… Then the girl suddenly spoke. “Do you like transfiguration, Ellie? I think it’s kinda cool!”
Elizabeth paused in the middle of the hall. The girl turned to look at her with a raised brow and a worried expression. She couldn’t blame her, not really. She was probably just trying to be friendly and give her a nick name since they were friends.
“What’s wrong?” The girl asked. Elizabeth gave her a hesitant smile and adjusted her robes with her free hand. A nervous habit. She didn’t want to make the girl feel upset or offended. “No, it’s alright… The kids at my old muggle school, they used to call me Ellie too. I don’t really like it.”
The girl nodded in understanding. “Oh, I didn’t know! I won’t call you that anymore, don’t worry.” Elizabeth felt a little better after that, she smiled at her and continued to walk. After a while the other girl checked her watch. “Oh! I told my friend I would meet him in the library. Sorry! I have to go.”
Elizabeth waved at her as the girl walked away. “Have fun, see you soon.” Now alone, Elizabeth felt the silence stretching. She didn’t really like being alone.
She didn’t have class soon, so she had some free time. She leaned against the door of an empty classroom and started to tuck her textbooks into her bag.

─────Lucian had half expected to be sorted in a different house but well he was still happy about the house he got. He was dressed in his Gryffindor Robe, with books and notebook in his hand, he was walking in the corridors of the school. He knew he had another class soon; he had just got out of one of the classes. He was ready for the next one. Not only would he be seeing his first friend Hendrik but also meeting new people in the classes. He wished he and Hendrik were in the same house but alas; it seemed he suited Gryffindor more.
Lucian came upon a girl who looked like she was in the same age as him as she was leaving too. He stayed hidden behind a wall to listen to the conversation with another girl that she was having. Ellie, he noted mentally. He was not sure what he was going to do with that information for now but that was something that he could use later. Or maybe not. The boy was quite shy. But he had made the first approach with Hendrik so maybe not that much shy.
Lucian listened in more as their conversation went on. He noted that she didn't like to be called Ellie. So that was why he had made a mental note of that name. He could tease her about it and maybe get pleasure in return. Not sure of what he was gonna do. He listened in more as the girl left. So, Ellie was all alone now. She was unaware of Lucian's presence yet as he had not made himself known to her. He was just lurking around. He checked his pocket for his wand; not that he was gonna attack her with a spell. But he would need it for classes.
Lucian emerged from where he was lurking. "Hi Ellie. I am Lucian." He said to her knowing very well she didn't like being called that. He was being mean- but not hurting someone physically. He looked at her and smiled charmingly.
