By now Cookie had gotten all the way over to where Alec was. Not very scared of Alec's and Wyatt's petty argument. Probably because it was a spider and didn't have the emotional capability to understand that. But Alec liked to think the spider was a bit edgy and rebellious. Even though he knew that wasn't really it.
“Did you really just learn the concept and action of hugging this past year or was this the first year you’ve ever gotten one?”
Alec looked over at Wyatt. Alec was in a bit of a better mood now. Probably because the whole ranting argument thing had helped out a bit with all his pent-up emotions. Besides, he'd just learned that Wyatt wasn't mean for no reason. So at least there was that. Alec knew Wyatt was probably trying to mock him laced with sarcasm or something of that sort. I guess it was a bit embarrassing. But when you really didn't have a touchy feely family and being sheltered most of his life. It should've been expected. Now what's really funny was he knew what a girlfriend was before he knew hugging even existed.
"W-well um.. Both" Alec said with a small awkward laugh. "Make fun of me if you want I could really care or less" Alec said quickly. Okay, maybe more than a bit embarrassing. And maybe Alec actually did care. Quite obviously. But that was besides the point.
"Literally confronted my mom and dad the second I got back home." Alec said. Although even Alec wanted to make fun of himself for it. The situation and everything in general had been quite funny. Even if they'd both refused to hug him. After that he'd hugged Jackie and of course she gladly hugged back. Partly because Alec had caught Jackie in a moment where she was tripping while trying to wear her mom's high-heeled shoes. Which Alec was actually quite confused on how she'd gotten them anyway they were on a high shelf in his mom's walk-in closet so.. Either his mom had taken them out and left them out or she'd taken the dangerous journey of getting a chair to get them.

"W-well um.. Both." Alec laughed a small, nervous laugh. His laugh was infectious. He had one of those laughs that was just funny, Wyatt couldn’t help but laugh with him. "Make fun of me if you want I could really care or less." He couldn’t hear Alec’s comment over the sound of his own laughter, even though he wasn’t laughing that loud. It started to die down.

"Literally confronted my mom and dad the second I got back home." Then, the laughing started back up again. It was just sort of funny, the whole concept. Wyatt didn’t even notice he was laughing until he did. He quickly fixed his face and stopped. Wyatt hated that he was laughing at something his enemy said especially because he was laughing because it was funny, not humiliating or sad.

Enemies are important because they tell other people how bad you are so those people fear you and you stop making friends. Really, this way of thinking perfectly shows how Wyatt was more of a psychopath than Alec ever could be, and Wyatt knew it, but he couldn’t change the way he thought.

He liked the way his brain worked, too. It’d helped him in many situations during his lifetime. People who are trying to be nice only to lure you into a prank? Wyatt’s distrust in the universe and in the human race prevented quite a few schemes like this in primary school, but not so much in Hogwarts.

The students there, as it turned out, aren’t big fans of manipulation. Maybe it was just the difference in age from his old primary school peers, but he hadn’t come across a scheme like this. It hadn't dissuaded him from thinking the way he thought though, and so he didn’t think any differently.

Wyatt continued tossing the paper ball and catching it in silence. He didn’t want to mention how he laughed at something Alec said that he thought was funny for reasons that weren’t petty, but he didn’t want to forget about it either. Wyatt just felt strange for some reason and continued playing with the little paper ball. He even forgot Perseus was laying under the bed.

Well, at least Wyatt was in a better mood. Alec didn't exactly need to get yelled at by one of his parents because he'd upset Wyatt starting their small stupid argument in the first place. You know what was quite odd though. How he was laughing. He'd seemed so.. drifted or something like that upon coming here and he was laughing.
Alec knew it probably must've been rough on Wyatt losing him an' all. He just hadn't cared to put much thought into it. Or care at all about how Wyatt was really feeling. It was actually really mean now that Alec thought about it. And to think Alec almost smiled. He was sorta happy about it at first. Most likely because Alec didn't exactly stop to think about how he'd feel himself if he was in this situation. It'd be confusing, and really, really scary..
So maybe this served as a distraction then? What Alec hadn't noticed, but he already knew. When he 'deeply thought' like this he had a sort of judgy look on his face. A girl had gotten mad at him in the library for it because she'd thought he'd been judging her or something. She got super mad about it. It was not exactly the best first impression for Alec.
Well, to be fair. All Alec's first impressions were horrible. He was either talking to himself, in thought, or well there is no other or. That is actually what's happened every time he's met someone. It happened quite often so.
Alec then turned his attention to Wyatt who was tossing that crumpled up paper in the air then catching it. And then Alec decided to count it. 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. 5.. 6.. and so on and so on. "How long are you gonna keep tossing that before you get bored?" Alec asked curiously. Also in a small attempt to make Wyatt mess up. It was just sad if Wyatt ended up reaching one hundred.

"How long are you gonna keep tossing that before you get bored?"

He could go on forever. Over the last five years, Wyatt had been playing catch with himself, and he’d gotten quite good at it too.

“I don’t know... Have you been counting? I’m at thirty-two right now… I’ve gotten to five-thousand twenty-three before my hand got cramped one night.”

Wyatt thought about that night a lot. It was a week before his father left for good. The fighting had gotten worse and worse downstairs, and it was especially bad that night. The little boy had already tried to leave the house to go into the woods, away from the noise, but his mother yelled at him to go back upstairs with tears in her eyes.

He went upstairs, and put the needle down on The Beatles’ record Please Please Me, and tossed a rubber ball up… and caught it, one… up… and caught it, two… until he counted up to five-thousand twenty-three and his left wrist hurt so bad, he just had to stop. At first, when the pain began, he could barely feel it, but that was at the four-thousand mark. The pain had gotten worse and more noticeable, but he continued tossing the ball because he didn’t want to focus on the yelling coming from downstairs.

He’d gone on for so long, when he was flipping the record to the B-side he kept tossing the red rubber ball, and eventually, when he switched the record altogether (to George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass), he continued tossing the ball. It was just another thing he distracted himself with so he didn’t have to focus on the noise, as he called it, downstairs.

He’d switched from side A to the B-side of All Things Must Pass long ago, and had already gone through four more records before he got to five-thousand twenty-three.

“I don’t really get bored.” Wyatt's gift was being able to add a venomous tone to any sentence. He somehow made I don’t really get bored into a malicious sounding statement. it was hard to tell if he even noticed the way it sounded.

Wyatt stayed in his mind a lot, and always had a trillion thoughts, each and every one of them designed to fight boredom, that way, he was never bored.

It was a strange, and stupid feeling Wyatt had, but he felt, for some odd reason, that it was easy to talk to Alec. “It was Ruth Burke who said, ‘only boring people get bored.’” Wyatt’s mother loved that quote. She said it just about every day, and she would always say it the same way.

You know, Wit, it was Ruth Burke who said, ‘only boring people get bored.’
He sighed inwardly as he thought about how he would never hear her say those words again.

Alec let out a slight laugh at his own expense. "I must be pretty boring than" Alec said. Words slipping out of his mouth unfiltered like usual. Although Alec doubted that. The ideas he could come up with for pranks or even well painting were amazing. Even if the pranks didn't exactly go according to plan. It was still a really cool idea in the first place. In fact, Alec believed boredom is what drove people to come up with crazy things, ideas, and schemes to just have fun with it. Like when someone get's writer's block and they've had it for a year. And it finally stops. Imagine all the crazy ideas going through their head for their next book. And funny thing sometimes even when you're bored you don't realize it.
I mean it was the same old thing everyday though, smiles at the weirdest moments mostly when he gets an idea, talks too much not even having a filter on his mouth not checking if it will offend anyone, not brushing his hair, always coming up with ideas that'll never be good enough to actually use. The only time it was different was when his parents were in the room. Straight posture, forced smile, keeping quiet unless told to speak ect. Basically, 'You don't exist. And if anybody notices you do your at least not a sight for sore eyes'
Which was a whole another thing in itself. And it's not like Alec needed to be ranting his insignificant problems again, anyway. Something that would either annoy Wyatt or upset him. Neither a thing Alec needed or wanted. "I spent four hours in a row sketching something once. My hand hurt the rest of the week." Alec said eventually, letting it slip before he'd even thought it through. Also the downside. Maybe Wyatt wouldn't ask what he was sketching? Hopefully? The last thing he needed was to get teased about his sketches when he got back to Hogwarts.
But you know if Wyatt did ask and Alec refused then Wyatt would also think Alec is lying. It wasn't a win-win situation more of a lose-lose one so Alec just better hope Wyatt doesn't. And that Alec can finally put a filter on his mouth and not let things slip so often!

The song he’s humming

"I spent four hours in a row sketching something once. My hand hurt the rest of the week."

Wyatt had always appreciated artists. He went to a lot of museums with his mother, and always appreciated the art even more than she did. Artists had always been so interesting. They see what you see, but they’re able to see the beauty in it.

“You’re an artist?” The way he said it sounded judgmental, but he actually really cared.

Wyatt didn’t think Alec wanted to be asked a question like that, but he didn’t really care. Wyatt stopped caring a while ago. As he continued tossing the paper ball, he began softly humming a song (Bring It On Home To Me, by Sam Cooke). He hadn’t sung or hummed since he came back from school, but he didn’t notice he was doing it.

It was so quiet and mindless, you wouldn’t be able to hear it unless the room was dead silent. The sound of the little paper ball being caught covered the soft humming entirely, but it was there. Though his mind was drifting, he found himself caring about Alec’s answer. He assumed it would be a while before he went to a museum, so looking at Alec’s art would be a good substitute.

An artist huh? Well, an artist could be lots of things. Just because someone sketches something (His little sister) for four hours doesn't mean they're an artist. Although Alec supposed one could use the term artist if they like. Alec not being one of them. He was bad at sketching anything that was beyond the fashion category. It was a bit girly and not something he really needed to be teased about. He only every so often did sketches that weren't fashion related, like the one of Cookie on his wall. Alec shook his head. "W-well.. u-um" Alec said. Okay, Alec, please choose your words carefully this time. "N-no u-um.. I-I just do random sketches w-when I'm bored. Their nothing r-really!" Alec said. Stupid stutter!
Just like the one he had upon coming to Hogwarts. He was a stuttering mess. He did not need that again. It took weeks to get rid of that stupid stutter so at least there was only one in every sentence this better be a one-time thing. Hours in his dorm wasted on that stupid stutter.
Now hopefully they can move on from the topic that is anything related to Alec's personal life? I mean, Wyatt had already seen enough of Alec's personal life within one night. Surely that was enough and they would never have to talk about Alec sketching? Surely they could just ignore each other the rest of the summer? Surely that was better than waiting for a reply from the very unpredictable Snake-boy, right? Or maybe Alec was going about this the wrong way. Maybe if he acted like he was super proud of his work and nothing could convince him otherwise, Wyatt could never make fun of him for it because there was no changing Alec's mind?
Or, or maybe Alec should've just learned the meaning of listen, not speak. That would be very helpful. Truth be told, it would be very helpful in any situation, including Snake-boy. If you ignored him what was he going to do, anyway? Talk to you? Because that's 'so' scary. Wait, Alec, stop it. What are you even doing? Are you seriously kind of making fun of Wyatt in your mind? 'Wow' Alec your such a 'great' person and what your doing is surely 'not' petty.

“Why are you nervous? You’re stuttering so much.” Something clicked for Wyatt. “You’re worried I’ll make fun of you?”

That kind of hurt. It was almost empowering, having that effect on someone, but he still owed Alec for beating him up, for getting help to the Hospital Wing, and now for being allowed into the boy’s home. It sucked that Alec still was angry at Wyatt, but Wyatt was just as angry at Alec if he was being honest.

But... some Gryffindors really deserved to be hated, and Alec was becoming more human to Wyatt as time went on. Even though he was the reason he had a broken nose. Which hurt. A lot.

“You shouldn’t be.”

There was an awkward silence for a while. Wyatt didn’t like awkward silences very much. He liked silences, but not awkward silences. Alec had told him about something he seemed embarrassed about, so Wyatt knew what he had to do to make things possibly less awkward. “Shit, okay,” he said to himself.

He stood up and walked to the corner of his room where he put the guitar case and clicked it open. He brought the guitar over and sat down on the bed.

OOC detail: Wyatt is left-handed, so he plays guitar left-handed.

“If we’re going to stay together all summer, we might as well have some blackmail against each other. Feel free to use this against me.”

“Wow, I’m literally doing this.”
He quickly tuned the guitar by ear and made sure everything sounded good before he started playing.

It was a wonder how he got through the whole song after not playing for a week, but he did it. It was one of his favorite Beatles songs, Michelle. His voice was good, and so was his guitar playing skills, but he really didn't like to show people his "talent."

“Now, I want to see the bloody drawing that took you four hours,” he said, slightly annoyed and very much regretting what he did.

The original song: Michelle, by The Beatles
The way Wyatt did it: Cover by Celi and Sina

It had happened so fast. Wyatt's realization, the awkward silence, Alec avoiding Wyatt's gaze, then Wyatt giving in? Not ignoring Alec but giving Alec some sort of blackmail on him.. WHAT?? Excuse me, who possessed this boy and actually made him nice for once!? What had just happened!? I mean well Alec knew but.. Seriously, who possessed Wyatt? One thing was clear. Alec was never to speak of this unless he wanted the wrath of Wyatt released upon him. And heh.. Well, Alec did not need or want that. But if Wyatt did ever speak a word of Alec's sketches to anyone at Hogwarts. Alec was more than willing to tell people. Even if it wasn't really embarrassing or anything.. Like most of Alec's sketches were.
“Now, I want to see the bloody drawing that took you four hours,”
Alec's eyes blinked rapidly as he tried to make sense of this. His mouth wide-open due to the shock. Alec just sat there on his bed like this for a few minutes before giving a slow yet small nod. Standing up Alec kneeled down by his bed pulling out the box he'd taken his journal out of. Going through about thirty sketches . The rest were hidden away in Alec's closet.
A few of them were just 'simple' fashion sketches including, ball gowns, random outfits ideas that couldn't exactly be named, a sketch of a forest, And the last one. Of his little sister. The one he'd spent four hours on without taking a break. "I-I know It's really bad" Alec said. It being the first thing he said after this whole ordeal. In the sketch Jackie was dressed up in, skirt overalls that had a cute little face of a cat sewn on the front, the bottom part of the skirt overalls instead of that jean material was just patches a fabric sewn together to make the skirt part of it. Alec had always admired the sort of patch pattern, a white blouse, black dress shoes, white tights, and a butterfly hair clip in her hair. She was smiling widely, her eyes gleaming slightly as the 'sunlight' came in through the windows hitting it just right. And there was a small tea cup in her hand, it was white and had butterfly designs all over it, her pinky finger out. The other hand was on her hip in a sort of sassy way, as if before this moment in the sketch she'd been telling someone off for whatever reason and had surprisingly been right.
In the room Jackie was in there was a small table set up. A little tea set on it that matched the cup she was holding in her hand. While Alec had been a bit embarrassed about showing Wyatt any of his sketches. There was a small smile edging Alec's lips as his eyes went over the sketch he'd spent so much time on..

Wyatt could’ve seen the surprise on Alec’s face from about seven trillion light-years away. Though the general surprise was VERY noticeable, Wyatt didn’t know if it was from the idea Wyatt actually did something kind (which Wyatt was also confused about), or if it was because he just found out that Snake-boy has talents other than being rude all the time.

"I-I know It's really bad."

“What are you talking about? It’s really good.”
It was amazing. Wyatt assumed the little girl in the picture was Alec’s little sister, the girl he basically parents. Wyatt wondered if he was the first person to have seen the drawings.

“Have you shown these to your parents?” Wyatt asked the question even though he felt knew the answer. “I think you should, they’d be proud. Besides, even if they hate it they can’t say it out loud because it’s a picture of their daughter, so it’s a win-win.” Alec would have to agree, Wyatt had a point, but he knew Alec would likely never show his drawings to his parents. Wyatt understood

It was a shame, though. Alec was quite talented. Wyatt had seen some terrible art before, like in his muggle school art classes, but he’d also seen some really good art. If this was only a sketch, Wyatt wondered what Alec could do with a paintbrush.

“Does your little sister really have tea parties?” Wyatt believed those were for rich people or cartoon animals. People had those in real life?
