Flash followed behind her slowly, keeping his hands knit behind his back as to appear unthreatening. Her fitful inquisitiveness was sort’ve cute, in a way. At first he had felt so threatened, like he was balancing on the edge of a cliff, but the longer the conversation went, the more he started to see her as harmlessly curious. Perhaps maddeningly curious, like it was a little bird pecking at her temple. He could see parts of himself in that, giving him reason to start wearing a small, furtive smile.
”I think it’s an enchantment, but I’m not sure.” Flash had been running experiments with it himself, and it seemed the potential of the room had nearly no bounds. That was what was so frightening about it. ”The windows to the outside, for instance. The room is in the castle, but where does that lead? Sometimes I wonder what would happen if I broke the windows and started walking, but… for all I know, that could be the last thing I ever do.”
She looked around the room with meaningful intent, her face serious. Flash’s smile only grew. A curiosity like that would be easy to take advantage of, if one wanted to. Flash wasn’t the type to do things on the spur of the moment, however. He liked to plan things thoroughly. First, he had to exit this interaction without anything going horribly wrong. At least she had the decency to heed his warning, and the intelligence to question it.
”It’s unknown magic. That’s why. I understand why you’re curious, I am too, but that doesn’t mean you throw caution into the wind.” Luckily, she didn’t know him well enough to know he was being a hypocrite. As far as anyone beside himself went, he did honestly care about peoples’ safety. A scientist experimenting on himself telling others to be careful, it really wasn’t an uncommon foible to have. ”Speaking of unknown, what sort of magic did you use to change your hair? Certainly I deserve a few answers myself after being so forthcoming.”

"Yeah, even if it's a regular window, that doesn't sound like a great idea unless you want to go to the hospital wing." Asteria replied. Even if it was for an experiment, that just seemed like a way to get hurt or potentially never be seen again. It could just be a regular window though. Perhaps the door was the only magical part, sort of like those nasty disappearing steps that make it so much harder to get from place to place in the castle.
"But what sort of enchantment though? How do you get it to appear like that?" This place might be a nice spot to spend some time but in order to do that, the Ravenclaw would need to know how to get to it or summon it, one of the two. If Flash had really kept this room a secret from everyone, there would be no one to disturb her at all. Well, except Flash himself but he didn't really seem like the type to annoy her while she was trying to work.
Of course, he was asking about the hair. It was sort of annoying to her how everyone wanted to know about it all the time. Flash's point was sort of strange to her. Just because he had decided to give her answers, that didn't mean that she had to as well. What did he even need the information for? Asteria actually had a reason to collect the information. What was his and why should she tell him? It seemed like it would do her no favors telling him about it, making it a lousy deal on her part. "Why must you know, exactly?" The first year asked. She didn't plan on providing the information without an exceptionally good reason because, why else would she?

Asteria didn’t let up for a second, she certainly seemed to be intellectually engaged with the idea of the room. Her eyes flitted around it inquisitively, like trying to piece together a puzzle. Still, because of that, she didn’t realize how pushy she was being. Well that, or she didn’t care.
After insinuating his posturing was ridiculous, she seemed to demand to know more. More specific information, as well as how to make it appear. How selfish… it’s like she only hears what she wants to hear, how infuriating!
Words were all Flash had. If someone simply disregarded them, he was practically powerless. He had strength, but it wasn’t there to make people do what he wanted. It wouldn’t make sense to resort to making her leave, he wasn't a barbarian. There had to be something that would make her see his perspective. But what would it take?
”Why won’t you drop it? I clearly don’t want to tell you how to summon the room, I’m trying to reach a compromise.” Flash’s idle smile turned into a cold, thin line. Perhaps she needed it spelled out for her. ”In fact, let me clear the air. I’m not going to tell you. How could I ever trust something like this to someone so self-absorbed?”
Flash’s posture was straight, his arms crossed and his face stern. It was, basically, an ultimatum.
”If you really want to know, you should be thinking about how to ingraciate yourself with me. I don’t pander to demands.”

"Well, why should I drop it? Asteria quirked an eyebrow, her hair fading into a deep burgundy color as she clenched her fists tightly. He had only known her for a short time and he already dared to insult her? It wasn't possible that he could already know enough about her to be sure of something like that. She might have been blunt but that wasn't enough to deserve an insult, at least in her book.
Deciding to let it pass as a compliment, she put on a fake smile. "And thank you!" It was true, Asteria did know how to take care of herself well. Sometimes that did come before taking care of others but that didn't mean she didn't care about anyone, just not random strangers who she had barely met before. It was pretty obvious to her that wasn't the meaning Flash intended but there was no reason the Ravenclaw couldn't take it that way.
Wait, did he say ingratiate herself? Was he kidding? Her anger flared up once more. Even if he didn't know it, she did have some dignity. Even if the first-year had already gone this far to find out, she wasn't going to make a fool of herself trying to get it, no matter how interesting the information would potentially be.
"Fine. I tried doing this the safe way but that didn't work. I guess I'll just have to do it my way then." Asteria shrugged, slamming the door to the room and leaning up against it. If Flash thought she could be scared off that easily, he was wrong. She whirled around to open the door, her thoughts filled with many, many different ideas of what she wanted at that moment. Looking back at Flash, Asteria gave the boy one last chance to stop her before she would step into the room.

I'm sorry for Asteria's behavior but she's not exactly pleased at the moment.

This girl had no intention of letting things go. Quite the opposite in fact, she was a menace. After being told his stance, she balled her fists, changed her hair, argued further. Flash himself wanted to change drastically, he felt for the first time in his Hogwarts career like he wanted to yell at someone. Calm down… calm down… Her behavior, perhaps her whole being, was at odds with him. Nothing he did seemed to work, he couldn’t control her, and that infuriated him.
At the utterance of his ultimatum, the final pin had dropped. It was his way or the highway, and by God as his witness, she chose a third option somehow. Obstinately stating her intentions like a bully holding a cat over a pool of water, she leapt over to the room’s door in order to do things ‘her way’.
Unable to contain his expression through the shocking change in events, Flash’s face lit up with panic. She slammed the door shut, looking at him with pointed ire. She was… she was… experimenting? The hairs on the back of his neck prickled, not having expected such blatant disregard. Not only that, but how long would it be before she figured it out? Couldn’t she just come back and continue to try, over and over, until she got it right?
”S-stop it!” Flash put his hands up as if to hold her back, but he couldn’t just put his hands on someone. Every ounce of strenuous training in politeness and decorum was being tugged at to test its tensile strength. Frankly, he was starting to feel like the frustrated child he actually was. ”What is the matter with you?!”
Even though opening and closing the door a few times would only reveal the same bedroom, without some sort of intervention, she was just going to keep at it. He had to do something, but nothing was working. What, give her the answer because she coerced it out of him? Pull her away and get into even worse trouble? He didn’t have time to think of a measured approach as the imp took her own action, unfettered by the need to remain civil.
”If I tell you… will you leave me alone? Will you go away?” Perhaps Flash had been successfully coerced after all.

OOC: Don't apologize, I am not adverse to conflict haha~
For reference, the Room of Requirement opens after pacing back and forth three times, so Asteria will not be able to change the room without figuring that much out
