As the others introduced themselves, AJ smiled inwardly. So far so good. She had not willed herself to disappear. The more everyone spoke, the more comfortable she slowly began to feel.Interacting with @Lindsey Springhall @Cassandra Ironwoods @Zykeal Lane
The Gryffindor boy, Zyk as he had called himself, mentioned that he was placed into Gryffindor. AJ started to ask why he seemed less than happy with his house, but stopped herself at the last minute. This could be another one of those things like your blood status that was simply rude to ask people about, especially when you have only just met them.
The conversation shifted to wands. Zyk and Cassie both pointed out that theirs were aspen.
"Mine is aspen, too! That's another interesting coincidence." She smiled slightly, not wanting to seem overly enthusiastic. Really, she knew next to nothing about wands beyond what she had read before obtaining her own wand. She had expected to receive one made of English Oak or Larch. English Oak, she had read, had an affinity for magical creatures and plants. Given that she wanted to work with magical creatures, she expected that it would come in handy. Larch, on the other hand, was known to instill confidence in its wizard, something that she could very much use.
"The core of my wand is phoenix feather. My father said my wand would be strong, but I'm not really sure that it fits m. What about you all?"

A flicker of those golden irises crossed over first Cassie and then the girl who called herself AJ as they mentioned they also had the same base wood as his wand, this sort of annoyed him at first to find out that it wasn't that unique to have, but, he figured it was more of a rare coincidence as the wand-maker specifically told him that it wasn't a common wood typing to be attuned too. A smile then rested over his features once more and he looked down at his ivory-colored wand that spun within his fingertips. When the girl, AJ, spoke up once more addressing the core of her wand, a new appraisal of the girl was needed and he looked over her again in an effort to find similarities between himself and the girl.
The wand spinning throughout his digits was suddenly stopped, the hilt resting within the palm of his hand as he looked down at it once more, speaking up then, "I as well possess a Pheonix Feather core," he noted, looking back up then to AJ and offering a kind smile, "Suppose we must have more than just wands in common then?" he said, offering a little shrug as he looked over to the other girl, Lindsey, who seemed to go quiet at the moment. No matter though, he'd adjust his position slowly and tuck his wand into the waistband of his trousers before giving off a small sigh, "I have homework to do, Charms is by far my favorite subject but, these Astronomy lessons are dreadfully boring."
A quick nod was given to the Lindsey girl before he looked over the other two that were there, "Maybe we'd hang out again some time, I'm very interested in.. wands," he said. "I'm off though, c'u around," he concluded, allowing himself to head back down the stairwell that he had previously risen. When he got to the base of the stairs though, he took a minute and sighed, looking down at the journey he'd have to complete to be able to get back to his common room for study, "If... I have the energy to do anything after this nonsense.." a soft laugh escaped him and he began his descent.
