During the summer break, Mikaela finds out her father is dating another woman. What she knows for now is that they love each other, though it's still hard for Mika to see this woman as a mother figure. My plans in a future are that this woman and Mikaela's father will get married and, eventually, have children. They're not moving from the house or change their residence, and Mikaela is not taking her surname.

Zephyr grew up in a small family farm in Swansea so his life is surrounded by fields, hills, and animals all day. They’re not rich, but they’re a close-knit family and hardworking people. His dad is responsible for taking care of heavy work on the farm while his mum handles the house, the garden, and the bookkeeping. He helps them with both even as a child. Often, he will wake up early, before sunrise, to help feed the animals or gather eggs before breakfast. He has a younger sister, Zaria, 7 years old. She likes following him around. He looks after her whenever their parents are busy working. They have opposite personalities, he’s quiet, she’s talkative, which made him a great listener but he really likes having her around. They have established a home that is simple but warm and welcoming. The kitchen always smells of baked bread or stew. When they all sit down together during meals, the house will be full of laughter. He didn’t have many friends having lived in a farm, it is a bit far from the nearest town. The kids he met were from the small local school or neighboring farms. They do have common activities such as football, climbing trees, or fishing in the nearby stream. Life was simple for them, it was quiet, very predictable, and filled with small routines until his Hogwarts letter arrived and everything changed after that.

It happened when Zephyr was just about eight years old. It was raining that time and he was helping his dad bring the sheep back to the pen. The wind was strong, and the animals were restless and they keep on making panicky sounds. One of the lambs was able to escape. Seeing that, he shouted for it to stop and the next thing he knew, a strong gust of wind came out of nowhere that pushed the lamb back toward him. It stumbled but landed safely on the grass. He, on the other hand, stood there, in shock. What just happened? He tried to understand what just happened. His dad saw everything and from then on, he shared everything about the magical world. Apparently, his father came from a pureblood family but decided to leave that world when he fell in love with his mother. He was disinherited by his family for falling in love with a muggle so he chose to live in the muggle world since then.

Emrys Alderton (Zephyr's dad)
Emrys was born into the Alderton family, an old and wealthy pureblood household who was known for Alderton Horology. It was a respectable business that was specializing in watches and pocket watches for generations. The Aldertons strongly believed in blood purity and family traditions. Every generation was expected to honor family's reputation, marry within respected pureblood circles, and contribute to the family business. It's what it's always been in that family for generations. When Emrys received his Hogwarts letter, he was sorted into Slytherin house, much to his family's honor and delight. They believed he would grow into the perfect heir who was ambitious, well mannered, and devoted to the family's ideals. In many ways, he was. He excelled in his studies, he showed interest and knowledge in crafting magical horology, and he had the confidence expected of an Alderton. What everyone didn't know was how far his curiosity would take him.

Unlike the rest of his family, Emrys was fascinated by Muggles and the Muggle world. He wanted to understand their way of life. While at Hogwarts, many of his closest friends were Muggleborns and Halfbloods. Whenever they spoke to him about trains, telephones, cameras, books, music, and everyday life with such gusto, he wished to experience the same. Every school holidays, Emrys would tell his parents he would be spending time with his friends from respectable pureblood families. Little did they know, he spent those weeks travelling with his Muggleborn friends. They would explore towns and cities, ride public transport, visit museums, try new foods, and ask endless questions about muggle inventions and school subjects. He loved how different things were in their world and how people could build remarkable things without relying on magic.

It was during his seventh year at Hogwarts that he met Liora through a mutual friend. She was kind, down to earth, and unaware of the reputation that came with the Alderton name. What began as a simple introduction turned into regular exchange of letters. For six months they wrote to one another. They would share stories about their lives, hopes, and dreams. During the school holidays they met twice and became a couple after. Before his graduation, Emrys asked Liora to marry him. They planned to wait until after finishing school before beginning their life together, but before they could execute their plans, his parents learned about his relationship with a muggle. Upon discovering their relationship, they demanded that Emrys end it immediately. If he married a Muggle, he would lose his place in the family, his inheritance, and every privilege that came with being an Alderton. It didn't deter Emrys and chose Liora.

The decision shocked the Aldertons. They expected him to come to his senses, but he never wavered. He was disinherited and every tie to the Alderton household severed. Wanting to leave his old life behind completely, he chose to take Liora's surname, Deakin, instead of keeping his own. They built a peaceful life centered in love and kindness over blood status and family legacy. A year after their wedding, they welcomed their first child, Zephyrus. Although Emrys cut ties with the Alderton family, he never abandoned the magical world entirely. Over the years, he kept in contact with a handful of old friends and trusted acquaintances. Few people knew the humble farmer from Swansea once belonged to an old pureblood families and Emrys preferred to keep it that way.

Aelwyd Vale (Farm's name)

When Emrys (Zephyr's dad) left his pure-blood family, he promised himself that he would create a life that was different from the one he grew up in. Although he can afford to buy an estate, he chose a simple life that was not built around family names, traditions and expectations. After he married Liora (Zephyr's mom) he bought a small piece of land in Swansea. It was surrounded by fields, hills, and countryside that was peaceful and named it Aelwyd Vale. The name came from the Welsh word Aelwyd which means hearth. Emrys thought that the name fits for the heart of a home where family is suppose to create memories together. He combined it with the word Vale, which means peaceful valley where their farm was built. The name conveys a warm and welcoming home for the family they were creating.

Aelwyd Vale symbolized the life he chose for him and his family. His pureblood family believed that blood status and tradition were what defined a person's worth, but for him, he believed that love, kindness, and your loved ones were more important than anything. The farm is a place he built together with Liora. For Zephyr, Aelwyd Vale was a home. It was where he grew up and learn how to appreciate the little things in life, a place where he truly belonged.

Liora prepares their teas by hand, she would dry and blend the herbs naturally before packaging them for sale. Their products have become known for their quality because everything is grown, prepared, and cared by the same people. Aelwyd Vale also uses vertical farming methods to maximize the use of their land. They grow certain crops upward in a maintained spaces to allow them to produce more while using fewer resources. It is a practical farming practice to help grow herbs and plants efficiently.

They make their living through a mixture of farming and handmade goods which consist of fresh produce, milk, wool, handmade herbal tea blends, and natural remedies to neighboring towns and communities. Unknown to Zephyr, his dad maintained his connection in the wizarding world, some of their products are sold through trusted wizarding customers, while their everyday goods are shared at local town markets and regular customers. Growing up at Aelwyd Vale taught Zephyr to appreciate the value of simple things. His mornings were spent helping with the animals, his afternoons in the fields or the greenhouse, and his evenings surrounded by his family. The farm shaped his sense of responsibility and his gentle nature. It was where home truly is.

Growing up at Aelwyd Vale, he learned that everyone has a part to play. His dad taught him everything he knew about managing the farm while his mum would asked for his help in the greenhouse where he learned how to identify herbs, take care of plants, and prepare bundles for drying. She would explain which herbs were used for teas, which soothed common illnesses, and which was use for a comforting drink after a long day. Although he never thought much of it at the time, those times in the greenhouse sparked his interest in Herbology when he finally attended Hogwarts.

His parents never raised him to think that blood status or magical ability made someone better than the rest. His dad told that a person's character was measured by how they treated others, not by where they came from.
