Have fun!
Amethyst had sworn off duelling not long ago.
She stood, however, in the very duelling club room she had decided she detests.
At least today she won't be subject to all those horrific spells.
She had to moderate this duel, very gratefully so.
Yet, she stood stiffly, almost ready to duel herself.
Fawkes Chaos was the sole reason why she stood in this specific room again.
The younger girl had somehow managed to bring out an undeniably softer side in Amethyst. She seemed to have the key to convince the older one, no matter what she thought of the deal.
Amethyst had, however, warned Fawkes when she had decided to duel an older person.
A mistake she knew, rather, all too well.
But it was all in vain, for the younger girl paid no heed and was stubborn about her decision.
The sole purpose of this duel was to test her new wand.
Amethyst could only pray Fawkes wouldn't land up in the hospital wing.
As the said participants entered the room, Amethyst sighed, trying to loosen up a bit.
What was she so tensed about, even?
She could always accompany Fawkes to the hospital wing if needed.
Or even better, could moderate in her favour.
"Welcome duellists! I wish both of you the best of luck, and I really hope the damage remains minimal. You may now begin," Amethyst said, faking her enthusiasm.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━sta 06|eva 07| str 03| wis 09| arc 07| acc 08━━━━━━ Prodigal Astronomy Learner | Wandmaker ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━A brand new wand. Fawkes had gotten her hands on a brand new one during July. It was a lovely one as well. Phoenix feather core with Alder wood. Quite the combination but it fit her well. It also worked well together so surely it would make her magic work out better?
Now as it was in her nature, a new wand meant she had to test it out. Experiment with it one could say. What better way to test out a new wand than with a duel? The Ravenclaw had a strong passion for the sport. Probably more than most. Was it concerning at times? Yes. Yes it was. Did it stop her? Absolutely not. Which was why she found herself in front of a 4th year student.
Her duel against a 5th year last year clearly taught her nothing since she had decided to duel another older student but that's what made it fun. The important part was trying. Only through practice, trial and error would she become better. She had dragged Amethyst into moderating the duel for her. Unsurprisingly the older girl had her concerns but what was the point of an experiment if there wasn't some risk attached to it? That's what made it fun after all.
She greeted her opponent, what was his name again? Prat?, before taking her stance ready to begin her first duel of the year.
Action: As strategized.
Wandmaker core: Phoenix Feather

XXXXXIt'd been quite some time since Prat had stepped atop the piste again. While the previous stint hadn't went exactly as he'd planned and the boy had come to slightly despise the sport. All this involvement in other sports had provided him with the right mindset he needed to revisit duelling as a sport.
No longer was it considered a necessary part of his life and the improvements were significantly better than he could've hoped. This lack of importance towards duelling eased the burden of success off his shoulders and allowed him to truly experiment with himself, enjoy the joys of duelling as they said.
Stepping up to the piste, Prat half knowingly recognised the two people present there. One was a slytherin and the other was a duelling captain. Of course, he had maintained his habit of keeping tabs on various sports captain and thus knew who this one was.
Giving both of them a small wave, he smiled as the took his place on the other side of Fawkes.
"Let's have a good game !!"
There was yet a lot to think about, within the game, outside of it. But all of that noise seemed to black out once he held his unholstered wand.

Amethyst flinched as spells flew across the room.
Better be safe than sorry; she stepped back, deciding observing from a distance was a better idea.
The duellists' wits worked in sync despite being opponents, the turquoise light from both of their wands momentarily flooding the room.
Fawkes' new wand did not seem to work in her favour, much to the older girl's dismay.
A feeling of guilt gnawed upon her for being slightly biased towards the Ravenclaw.
A frown hung over her face as she saw Fawkes' movements getting hindered due to Impedimenta. It looked as if she were frozen in time for a moment. Once she did regain momentum, she was comparably slower.
"Impressive hit," Amy, however, acknowledged. The older one's experience was clearly dominating.
On the other hand, the Ravenclaw had sent the same spell flying towards Prat, who was quick enough to evade despite actively attacking.
"You can do better, Fawkes!"
Amethyst tried motivating the younger one; more like, she hoped for a fairer duel. The impedimenta hex was not so bad in itself; it barely hurt, but it did indeed make a strong base. But then again, it was a duel; you were bound to get hurt.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━sta 06|eva 07| str 03| wis 09| arc 07| acc 08━━━━━━ Prodigal Astronomy Learner | Wandmaker ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━She had been waiting for a chance to try out a new spell for a while. Impedimenta. It was a spell from a much older year. But that didn't mean she wasn't going to try it. She had been practicing for weeks to perfect her cast. And all of it led up to this moment.
She casted the spell. It was a perfect cast. She watched as the spell easily flew out at her wand towards her opponent. However, much to her dismay, she missed her mark completely. This was a common issue even with her old wand. Perhaps she needed more time to bond with her current wand before she saw any real difference between this one and her old one.
She didn't have much time to dwell on the missed spell as she felt herself slow down. Ah. Her opponent seemed to have the same idea as she did. That was unfortunate for her. She now had to deal with the effects of the very spell she wanted to cast. Oh well. It was better than having her own cast backfire though. She could deal with being unable to dodge. That could be improved. Not being able to cast a spell properly? That needed a lot more practice.
She looked back up at her opponent and raised her wand once again.
