Autumn looked at the A in her hands. Sure, she wasn't great in Defence Against the Dark Arts, but this was a new low. Acceptable, a passing grade, sure, but one far below her expectations of herself. Her fear of failure was being triggered and the voices in her head were talking too much, too fast, too loud.

She ducked her head down to avoid any small talk, attempting to make her way to the Abandoned Toilets, where she would sob on the floor for a while before maybe paying a visit to the Rehearsal Room for a quick waltz with a non-existant dance partner, maybe even singing, although her voice would be hoarse after all the crying she was planning to do.

You're pathetic.

You should study.

You are a disappointment.

Mother deserves better than you.

Naomi, Inesa, Willow, Cahira, Hae, they all deserve better than you.

You should be studying.

Failure.

Selfish.

Selfish. Selfish. Selfish.

She realised she had stop breathing for a moment and began choking, gasping for breath. The students stared at her as if she had grown a second head. Second head... It was a magic world, maybe growing a second head would have gotten her less stares and whispers.

She glared down the people. She had just gasped and choked a little bit, it wasn't that much, really. Oh, oh no. She was crying, was she not?

Sure enough, tears were streaming down her face. She rolled her eyes, checked the time and came to the conclusion that she did not deserve the luxury to cry further. She stuck her tongue to the roof of her mouth, automatically shutting down the tears, wiped off her tears, and made her way over to the Study Room.

Lizzie's sense of direction sucked, to say the least. She was pretty sure she was trying to get back to her common room when she somehow ended up on the other side of the castle? And on the wrong floor? She blamed the moving staircases, but she knew if she told her brother that, he'd just laugh in her face. Something about letting the staircases mess with you being "such an ickle firstie thing to do".

Don't get her wrong, she loved her brother and they were good friends, but they, like most other siblings, liked to tease and argue with each other. The fact that Lizzie was a first-year, while her brother, Sean was a third-year was often brought up in their teasing. She couldn't wait until he was a sixth or seventh year and she could tease him for being an old man. Ah, the perks of having a sibling...

She looked up sharply at her surroundings. Where was she? And where was the sound of people talking coming from? A quick look to either side confirmed that to her right, there was a room with a bunch of people in it. Huh. Maybe someone there would be able to point her in the right direction? Even though that was such a first-year thing to do, ask for directions to her common room, out of all places.

As she entered the room, she noticed how almost everyone there was hunched over a book, or scribbling fiercely on foot-long parchment. This must be a studying hangout room or something like that, she thought, scanning it for someone who seemed less occupied. She didn't want to disturb someone already working with her sorta stupid question.

Ah! There! She spotted a dark-haired girl who looked like she'd just entered the room also and had yet to sit down.

Lizzie made her way over to the girl and gently tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention. "Hi," she started. "I'm sorta hopelessly lost. Do you think you could point me in the right direction?" Somehow, between her thinking about what she was about to say, and her saying it, she had forgotten to mention where she needed directions to. She didn't really realize it at the moment. Although the voice in the back of her head did. But when did she ever listen to it? Right. Never.

Cassie wanted a peace and quiet when they enter the room but instead as the day grow, the sun on the outside set high, a lot of people come and goes to the Study Room. Maybe either they just want to cool down from the outside heat or really taking their free time doing what Cassie did. When Cassie look up, they saw a girl wearing Hufflepuff uniform.
In her hands there is a distinct assignment paper. Cassie sigh and massage their sore neck. They been in the room for hours. Taking notes. Lots of notes. From Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology and Potions. Not before after the Hufflepuff enter the room, a Gryffindor girl entered the already packed room.
She seems lost and by the looks of it, Cassie was right. When she approaches the Hufflepuff girl, she asks if the Hufflepuff girl can help her find her way back. Perhaps towards her own Common Room. Cassie can read lips but not so much since that particular talent they rarely use it. "Oi, mate! I can help you with that"Cassie said to the Gryffindor girl.
"Are you trying to get back to your Common Room?"Cassie inquires the crimson and gold wearing clad girl. They raise their voice a bit so both of them can hear them. A lot of shushing and angry glare was thrown towards them. "So, what is it? Yes or No?"Cassie intentionally raise their voice a little louder to annoyed the people around them.
They chuckles when they get another round of angry glare and shushing.

At first, Lizzie wasn't sure if the brunette was talking to her. It seemed sorta random for another person to want to help her. And it also seemed like they were out of earshot. And not to mention, Lizzie hadn't even noticed them in the room, since she'd just scanned over the occupants when she was trying to find someone to ask. But when the brunette asked if she was trying to get back to the Gryffindor common room, Lizzie's eyes widened in surprise as she realized they had been talking to her.

"Uhh yeah, I am, in fact trying to find my way back to the Gryffindor common room," she replied as she turned towards them, too shocked at the brunette's correct guess to say any more. She felt her cheeks warm as the brunette received glares and shushing from the surrounding students. No doubt, those trying to study were judging Lizzie for needing directions back to her common room.

It was sorta strange how she was getting all embarrassed about the older students knowing that she wasn't able to navigate the castle. She was only a first year, and her sense of direction was terrible, so she wasn't expecting to be able to find her way everywhere until third year. The castle was so big.

The more she thought about it, the weirder it was that the brunette had known that she'd been looking for her common room. Maybe it was just a lucky guess, but the castle was so huge that she could've been trying to go anywhere. "How did you know I wanted to get back to my common room?" she blurted. "Lucky guess?"
