It was that special time of the year. The end of the year exams! It was always a stressful time, and one where Kaitlyn poured so much time and energy into studying. This would also include staying up late, rewriting her notes, and creating flashcards (or their equivalent, as it was very easy to use up her entire stockpile, and there was no nice way for her to replenish them without returning home). Not to mention, she rather enjoyed drawing little sketches to add. Although those would very much depend on the class … and whatever her inspiration would gravitate towards.

For example, Kait’s Herbology notes (and plant journal, for that matter) had sketches of plants. Divination had sketches of the different techniques (like the potential readings from tea leaves). Astronomy often had star charts. Care of Magical Creatures had small sketches of creatures. For Ancient Runes, she couldn’t simply draw the runes (for fear of casting powerful spells), but she managed a shorthand notation that appeared to work. For any and every spell they learned, she would draw the wand movement. Oh, and potions would get drawings of the potion, ingredients, or how to stir the cauldron.

While Kaitlyn was still very unsure of where her magical journey would take her, and frankly, where her interests lay, she even took the time to write a small list of every healing potion and healing spell she had learned thus far. Perhaps it would be a good idea to practice or review, especially before her volunteer shifts at the Hospital Wing … not that there was much she could do while there, unfortunately. That was simply a limitation of being a third year. Er, or rather, the limit of her magical education thus far. Or lack thereof.

Even though the young teenage Slytherin rather enjoyed studying in the library, Kaitlyn was fond of studying outside, especially for the end-of-year exams. The weather was always so nice and beautiful. Not to mention that the backdrop of sounds was always so welcoming. It provided just the perfect amount of ambiance and atmosphere of not just a studious girl, but one who entirely loved the outdoors, just like her.

Due to this, Kaitlyn was sitting underneath a tree on the grounds with her back resting against its trunk. She was surrounded by books and parchment, along with an array of rocks holding her place. Her inkwell and quill were also present, along with a muggle pen and the aforementioned notecards. She needed to do well in her classes and was focused on doing so. After all, what type of prefect was she if she didn’t at least try to be a role model?
