❖ To Fool A Hufflepuff ❖ PV Abandoned

Airlia was delighted the second Selim stopped talking. "I know about you!" She said excitedly: "My mother hates you." She adds as if it was the best news since the last ice age ended.

It took her about two seconds to realize how rude she must have come off as. Saying her mother loathes his people uncaringly and as if it was a great thing in her mind too.

"I mean..." She stutters a bit, a nervous, embarrassed blush on her face. "My mom used to teach me the history of old pureblooded families with every detail, negotiation, marriage, and war. She has this huge tapestry with all the family trees, spanning a time over decades. Each Winter family woman continues to make it whenever a child is born or someone gets married."

The tapestry was meters upon meters long, stretching over decades of work by now and preserved with the most ancient spells that are hard to cast and even harder to maintain. The names are written in cursive lettering and the branches of the family trees now so long and intertwined with one another that the tapestry looks like a depiction of vines instead of trees.

"Where your family is meant to be we don't have any recent information. We know your family hasn't died out, but my mom can't find any information about lineage or even where you live so there is this huge unfinished portion to the tapestry. She's dreamed of finally finishing it but after endless research, she's come up with nothing."

Airlia smiles in remembrance thinking back to one of the few times she'd seen her mother crack. Lady Winter was always poised and perfect in everything she set out to do. No matter if it was learning history, manipulating politics, doing needlework, or raising her children. She always achieved whatever was her own depiction of perfection no matter how wrong or incorrect it seemed to others.

Seeing her mother fail at something had reminded Airlia of her own mother's humanity for the first time in years.

"I just think it's great your family has finally managed to make my mother fail at something." Airlia smiles happily with appreciation: "But on the day she tracks you down, and trust me she will, don't kill her okay? She just wants to update the tapestry with everyone's names, birthdays, marriages and such." Airlia giggled happily.
