The Start Of One Crazy Summer
Solo, Backdated to July Second Of 2020
Alec found an empty compartment sitting down in it. Letting out a small sigh, running his hand across the leather cover of his journal. The thought of even going home. He wasn't ready for it yet. That sort of confinement again. It'd been on his mind all week. So much for even thinking about SOATOP that week. He'd been avoiding his only friends all week because of it. He didn't wanna have to talk about it cause it seemed like he'd be complaining. And surely they'd ask about it. Being safe on the matter was better the being sorry. He didn't have many friends, so he'd rather not try to lose any. It was the last thing he needed. His parents obvious to the howler didn't seem to want him home for the holidays earlier on during the year. So subject to that he'd stayed at Hogwarts. So did his parents hate him..? Were they just upset.. with him? After all it wasn't Alec's fault he placed into Gryffindor. Right..? Alec hadn't wanted Gryffindor.. But he hadn't exactly been rooting for himself to be put in Slytherin. Did he even belong in Gryffindor? The question he'd asked when he'd first been put in Gryffindor. And he was doing it again. Feeling just as lost and hopeless and he had been when he was placed into Gryffindor. Alec let out a sigh, opening his journal and pulling out the pen a muggle friend of his had given him grinning as he remembered the memory of being given it. And started writing in it.
If lost. How is one found? Are they wandering forever?
Do they find a place of resting and peace, eventually?
How does one find that state of mind?
The one where everything isn't a jumbled mess.
The one where things don't slip out of your mouth.
No regret.
No stuttering and making a fool of yourself..
No being made fun of..
No being called a 'psychopath'
No more feeling lost, alone, and out of place..
Maybe I'll find that state of mind and peace one day..

That was a nice ending. The journal had been more the writing things down for the boy. It had been a place of creativity with abstract and swirling emotions. It did really help with his signature talking out loud problem. A semi-solution that helped a bit. Rereading it Alec bit at his lip. Seems like this journal loved to make Alec touchy feely with his emotions. It was some sort of art.. Pouring your heart and soul and everything your feeling at the moment onto one page. Just even being able to put it into words. It was just wow.. He was proud of himself. Proud of how far he had come , proud of his mostly E's even though they weren't much. He'd put effort into everything he'd actually cared about this year. And it was.. Just wow he'd changed so much.. He didn't even stutter with every sentence anymore. It was crazy. And Alec loved it. This month, this year, the next six years were going to be something he'd never forget, and he knew it.
